Glorious, I've spent literally hundreds of hours reading about assisted conception over the past couple of years and I haven't heard of this protocol anywhere That's not to say it's not legit, (i have no idea) but it's definitely not common.
I haven't done it before and wasn't really keen on it so we didn't go into it too much detail, but I think it was more of ok... Clomid hasn't fully worked (i havent ovulated yet and i think im day 16?) and with FSH we can boost the follicles into overdrive to release some eggs? (lol obviously not word for word what he said!)
I *thought* it would have been done straight away so same cycle as the Clomid?
well i guess i will see what the next step is, the injections havent been a breeze but i am not looking forward to the trigger shot(larger dose). is that a painful injection?
I really think i am staring down the barrel of IVF now.. which is something i wanted to avoid.
My sister is currently doing something similar, but minus the second round of clomid. She took the clomid (50mg) at the start of the cycle as normal, but had absolutely zero response (all hormones were still baseline and ovaries were doing nothing) so her FS started her on FSH (37.5iu) on CD34. I'm still waiting to hear how her monitoring went yesterday (after a week of FSH).
Did you take the second lot of clomid (ie CD14-18) because you didn't respond to the first lot at the beginning of the cycle? If your levels were still baseline it's possible to treat it as though you're still at the start of your cycle (rather than using provera or similar to induce AF before starting again).
I never used clomid
But my life for the last year was fsh, pregnel, overdril and trigger shots
None of them hurt
Occasionally for no particular reason the pregnel would sting a tiny bit but only briefly.
I have no hormones so need to grow eggs and have ovulation induced. I also have Premature ovarian failure.
DD2 was 43 days straight of fsh injections and pregnel every three days then pregnel trigger and two eggs conceived.
This bubba was months and months of failed ovulation induction but first try IUI using fsh (gonal) and overdril
Good luck, if you don't feel right get a new specialist.
