    Moderate endo

    Hey Everyone,
I just had a lap/dye last week, and my doctor found moderate endo and said that this might explain why we've not fallen pregnant yet. He removed most of it, which I'm so happy to hear.
I've read all I can on endo, and it seems like a gluten-free diet is the way to go. I also read that endo is correlated with being an uptight skinny white chic. Which I am. Can anyone believe this? I read this personality profile which totally summed me up, disturbingly. I guess I sound like a Cosmo article here, sorry.
Does anyone have any success stories for moderate (stage 3) endo & IVF? I was previously "unexplained" but I have had serious egg issues, with low fert/embryo development. It feels like the problems just keep mounting up. I'm trying to just nurture myself to recover from this op. I'm seeing a TCM doctor who says to wait at least 3 months before trying IVF again. Would you others out there follow her advice or just go with the Western "try try try" approach?
Love to hear any words of encouragement and all the best to you very tough ladies/guys out there,
    WW

I would try naturally in the process and then if no BFP start another IVF cycle in the 3months. That way your giving yourself the best chance of success with the IVF. You wouldn't want to start too soon without allowing everything to heal and settle down.

    uptight skinny white chic?
I have endo, far from skinny with indian relatives, sooo thats a load of cobblewaffle..
Although I didnt get my endo removed, as I didnt like the thought of having a laser stuck up my bum.
It took us roughly 5-6 months to conceive, naturally - and so far so good
So it is possible to naturally conceive, so i'd try that if I were you before you tried ivf but I guess your case may be worse than mine.

    thanks

Thanks, Mildez, that's my instinct too.
Poopie, yes it did sound like bollocks. Otherwise, I really can't think what to say in response to your post. Perhaps I should stick with the LTTC & AC forum.

I had sever endo which was removed. We were told by our FS to give it 6 months to TTC naturally and if nothing happened then try IVF. I also have blocked tubes though - but did manage to fall pregnant on the 7th month (just as we were about to start our IVF) but unfortunately miscarried that little bean.
We did IVF 7 months after that and fell pregnant first time.

Good luck sweets, it can happen.

Worrywart, the level of endo doesn't have alot to do with conception as far as I understand, it is the position of the deposits that is most important. If the adhesions are around the ovaries etc you are more likely to have trouble conceiving than if it were on the bladder just as an example.

Poopie - not sure what you mean about a laser stuck up your bottom - endo is removed laproscopically - at least everyone I know that's how it's been done including my own. If you had endo adhesions on the bowel - as did I, it is also removed laproscopically and also would be less likely to affect any problems with conceiving.
Try to remember everyone is different and your experience is not always going to be how it works for others.

    Best wishes with everything!

Sue, thanks so much for the encouragement and congratulations! Sorry also for what you've been through. It is a tough road.
Ausgirl, thanks for the support. And for clarifying what's involved in a lap. Yes, in fact there's a lot on both ovaries. But it's been treated, though not exactly removed, I think bc it risks the ovaries. So far with IVF, my egg quality has been an issue, though FS says it's my ovaries not liking the stim's not that the endo has necessarily got to the eggs. Though I've heard stuff about follicular fluid being a bit poisoned and it seems like the most obvious explanation of our problems so far, ie that the endo is hurting the eggs. My fingers and toes are crossed for the next year or so. I'd just like to be pregnant, and hopefully have a baby. I don't mind how that happens at all.

Yes my endo was on the bowel, and they wanted to go back end to remove it, they did not give me any choice on it.
I know everybodys experience is different - Obviously, but I was just pointing out that I have endo, and got pregnant, so it IS possible. Thats all I was saying.

I have no idea how long you have been ttc so far, it seemed that you said you just got the endo removed so was suggesting exactly what Mildez said. Sorry if It came out wrong.

Worrywart, you'll get there hun, you will.

My FS also told me about follicular fluid being potentially toxic due to the endo and blocked tubes that I had.
There are ways to improve your egg quality and one of those ways is through acupuncture and taking fresh royal jelly. This is what I did.

Just a suggestion and it can't hurt to try hey?
    Good luck

My story's similar to yours (except for the egg quality part). Stage 3 endo removed from outside the uterus and on the bowel, DH and I are going down the IVF route (my first appt's on Thursday) after TTC for 18mths after my laparoscopy surgery. Scar tissue has blocked one of my fallopian tubes, and the other's a little dodgy.
