    Feeling pregnant

I feel SO pregnant at the moment. Yesterday I had the most vivid dream about being pregnant - when I woke up, I had to actually feel my stomach to double check that I wasn't!

Professor reckons it's because I haven't had a period in so long. My last one was brought on by Primolut....April I think? Absolutely ages ago. I wanna take a pregnancy test to prove to my mind that I'm not pregnant, but Professor thinks I'll get a false positive anyway, because my hormones are so high.

This is so freakin' weird, I can even feel my fake-baby move sometimes!

Has anyone else had this kinda thing?

I've never had that but it's understandable.

Test. You can't get a false positive from "hormones". The only hormone that will give you a positive is HCG, the pregnancy hormone. No other hormone will trigger the test.

I really, really hope and pray this is IT for you xxx

I've had false positives before N2L, I assumed it was the excess hormones. The blood tests ruled out the pregnancy sadly. I wonder what causes a false positive then?

I promise you the only thing that will cause a positive is HCG.

The only other explanations I can think of are -

    1. It was an evaporation line (faulty test). This is common on cheaper blue dye tests. That's why I tend to only use FRERs.
    2. There was HCG and it was a chemical pregnancy.

Do you know if the blood tests were qualitative or quantitative?

    Hope this helps

Ps can you tell I have spent far too long researching hpts??

I would be peeing on every stick in the house like a madwoman, lol. FWIW I still get phantom kicks here and there. Now, go and POAS!

Hahahah, occupational hazard methinks I can't remember the brand name I use, but they're not cheap ones, and they say PREGNANT or NOT PREGNANT.

    What's a FRER?

I know one of the tests must've been quantitative, because he told me that I had a HCG of 12 which wasn't high enough to be a pregnancy.

That'd be right, we've given up on having kids and are just focusing on paying the bills!

Protein in urine can give false positives.

    Good luck!!!

Hahaha Forshelby! FWIW, they're not kicks, it's more pressure down below and a rolling around sensation. It's probably wind, lol

I have pm'ed you something which may help.

Also HCG of 12 is pregnant, but it is not likely a viable pregnancy. It could be that you have tested when the HCG is on it's way down too.

At my clinic, anything over 5 is considered "equivocal" positive.

Sensitive tests can pick up HCG of 5.

Eta: a FRER is a First Response Early Response test (a brand which is considered one of the most sensitive and reliable).

I really hate feeling pregnant when I know I'm not. Very annoying.
Maybe get one of those magical FRER thingos and see...? Maybe it's not gas.

Hahaha Ree, I love your enthusiasm

Now I'm overanalyzing everything - my sore boobs, the fact I've been sleeping 18 hours a day for the past few weeks, the moodiness, the unexplained weight loss. I've never had morning sickness though, at least that'd be a proper sign!

I get it. I feel pregnant too when I am definately not. And the more I want to be pregnant the more I feel pregnant sometimes also. I definately feel about 7-8weeks pregnant now without the sore boobs.

I have just been reading everyones post and it just made me feel less insane. I have felt so different the last few months before af came along and thought it was because I was going to finally see the positive but I was wrong. I feel like my body and mind just want to torment me on a regular basis.
The up and down rollercoaster and pains and cramps my body is giving me doesn't help to be in the right mood for trying that's for sure.
Got married last friday and the honeymoon weekend was ovulation time so I am hoping that our relaxing weekend away as husband and wife has helped this month.
Fingers crossed and baby dust to you all.

Went to the doc today and did a test while I was there, negatory.
