Talking D5 transfer with hatched blasti

    hi girls ...

we just had our 1st FET (18th sept - tues this week) from our 2nd full stim of IVF in august 07 with 2 beautiful day 5 blastocysts ...

1 of our embies had hatched from it's shell the night before and grew to over 200 cells .. the 2nd emby was what they called a cavity morulla - just about to turn into a blastocyst as it was starting to fill with fluid etc ...

has anyone had a hatched blasti transfered and got a BFP ??

any help or advice would be great .. so many THANKS in advance

I have a slightly complicated IVF history... but the relevant details are that I had a FET with a hatching blastocyst - got a BFP. Good luck!

Sadly, I miscarried later on, but we now know that the reason for that was more than likely nothing to do with our embryo, and everything to do with my dodgy immune system.

Wow I hope you get that big fat positive!! I have a question How do you ask for a blastie instead of a 2 day embie???? My clinic is **** and dont tell me anything so I want to change.

Collo, I guess the first step would be in contacting your clinic to ask them about it. I'm really not sure how other clinics work, but with mine going to blastocyst is standard as long as there are three or more embryos at day 3.

    hi girls !

thank you for your replies ..

    today at 5dp5dt I'm going insane !!!!!!!!

I've been experiencing pain on and off since 24 hours after transfer (18th sept 07) and yesterday afternoon 22nd sept 4dp5dt at 3pm i started experiencing AF like symptons .. however it doesn't feel like AF if that makes any sense ..

I tested this morning but it was ... about 1 hour later a line did show up .. so now i don't know whether i did the test too early (was still rather dark here and we use those energy saving light bulbs) and couldn't see the line ...

I just don't know what to think at this stage .... i'm on 2 x crinone a day and on progesterone pessaries by now my temp would be through the roof .. but on crinone i'm freezing .. i have no idea what my progesterone level's are my FS doesn't do a prog test .....

Am i just being silly ? is it too early to test ? are my AF like symptoms implant ?

My g/f has just fallen pregnant on her very first IVF with a D5 transfer .. this is our 2nd full stim of IVF and 1st FET this cycle (couldn't do ET with fresh IVF due to OHS - i had over 60 follicles !!!) ....

Someone please re-assure me .. i need support and lots of it to make it through this ..... I was so excited to be back in the 2 week wait and now all I seem to do is cry ........................

    Lots of reassurance coming

I was in the same situation - couldn't transfer on my stim cycle due to OHSS, so my one and only transfer so far was a FET.

I was having really strong symptoms from about 4 days after transfer - but every time I tested it was BFN, including the day before my blood test. I started testing at 10DPO (5dp5dt), and continued to test right up until the blood test which happened at 14DPO (9dp5dt). As I said, the day before my blood test I saw a BFN on a pee stick - but I was definitely pregnant! Pee sticks are evil and not to be trusted.

I'd also say definitely too early - blast transfers tend to have lowed HCG levels initially. Not that it stopped me testing at all!

    hi butterfly_warrior ... (edited sorry I put rainbow_warrior.. sorry )

my ET was the 18th Sept and BT is the 2nd of Oct ... which is 14dp5dt = 19dpo ..

this is our first blasto transfer and we have such high hopes of it working .. our past ET's for FET's have been D3 and BFN every time ...

our first full stim back in march this year i ended up wtih such severe OHSS that i ended up in hospital no thanks to my Dr ! .. I was on 250iu that cycle and then 350iu for 5 days then 10,000 pregnyl shot ... i'm tellin ya i thought i was dying !

so my new FS this cycle lowered my dose to 200iu .. i started to OHSS she did a internal scan and it showed i had 20-30 in each ovary ... within 3 days after lowering my puregon to 100iu some had eventually died off and some had growth spurts ... so at EPU we got 23 eggs - there were so many follicles she lost count after 45 i think ...

so each IVF full stim we've done I've never had a fresh transfer .. and it really p***** me off ! .. but my health was more important .. believe me i didn't want to end up back in hospital like the first one !

First IVF i was put on hepranol (sp ???) to stop blood clots, had to wear pressure stockings to stop clots also .. had to have my urine output measured .. with this first IVF - FS reckoned he could only get 12 eggs .. but i was sooooo big and bloated i looked about 8 months pregnant .. i couldn't sit, walk, eat, drink, wee, poo - god that was absolutely excruiating (sp???) ..

anyway thank you for re-assurance .. i really need it .. i'm going mental .... i don't know if i'm eating more or just convincing myself that i need to eat more .. does that make any sense ?

Makes perfect sense - I started noticing that at 9DPO certain smells really made me feel like puking. I was much hungrier than normal and would wake up absolutely ravenous - not matter what I'd eaten the night before. I'd be hungrier than normal during the day, too.

You're also correct on the OHSS thing - It's bloody scary! I had no response to 150IU initially, so my FS jumped me up to 300IU for a few days - then I was rapidly being pulled back and ended up on daily blood tests because my levels were so high. I was only given a half-strength trigger shot. We got 26 eggs, and ended up with 4 blasties in the freezer. Three still waiting to be used after our first miscarried (unrelated problem, I'll be on drugs the whole way through pregnancy now to help prevent it happening again). It took me three weeks to recover, and it was only my stubbornness that kept me out of hospital - Not something I ever want to go through again!

Anyway - I read somewhere that with a woman under 35, a day 2-3 transfer has only a 20% chance of working. Go to blastocyst, and that chance jumps up to 42%. I think you've got a very good chance of this working, and I'll be keeping everything crossed for you.
