I forgot to ask the FS this...

She said that DP needs to give his sample but he can do it at home. Nooooow can he just do it in a condom or does it need to be a jar?

Our FS told me to make sure that its at body temp all the way to the lab, to keep DP's sample in my bra against my breast. So I have this image of a tied up condom sitting on the inside of my bar for a 40min drive AND walking into the lab to hand it over out of my bra.

Any ideas? LOL

unless you get special condoms from the clinic, it needs to be direct into the jar...

Don't do it in a condom. They have stuff in them that kills the spermies. Get a specimen jar (or if DP is a little squirmish they can usually provide sperm friendly condoms.)

If you are 40 minutes from the clinic though then it would be far far better if he could do it there. As it degrades quite quickly once exposed. Our FS says that 30 minutes is the absolute max that they would allow. My DH did it at home the first time but once he was an old hand so to speak he now says that at the clinic is fine (he doesn't like it but he manages)

But yes - I felt quite silly walking into the clinic with a specimen bottle down my top

hun - I dont have any advice but I do have a story which will make you feel much better about doing it that way if you have to.......

I was 16 and going to see LIVE in the city - caught the train in with one friend. I was scared to have any money in my bag incase I had it snatched........

SO I popped the cash I had down my cleavage, safely in my bra!

We went into Utopia - which is a heavy metal hard rock goth kinda record store. I took something to the counter to buy - and realised I hadn't put my money back in my wallet.

So, I shrugged my shoulders and pulled the money out, and handed it to the studded, dread lock big "mean" looking guy behind the counter.

He fell to the floor laughing.

Yeah, we had a 45 minute drive for one of DH's samples. I stuck the jar between my BB's, which becme annoying, so sat it between my knees.
Just gave it to DH out the front of the lab.

You can pop into a chemist and they have little plastic specimin jars with a screw top lid, they are only $1.50, hope that helps - I know the special condoms are about $30.00 each ot was it $17.00 _ i remember reading it a week or so ago when we went to the andrology dpt : Hopre that helps :-)

we were always told as long as it was at the clinic within an hour

basically any sooner than that, the sample hasn't been liquefied properly and they have to wait anyway...

I can grab a jar from work tonight and a sterile bag to place it into. I can make the drive in 30minutes IF traffic is good. My FS said a 30-40min drive is ok but to make sure we make an appointment etc. He wont be able to do it for at least the next 3 days anyways, I might tell him 5 just to be sure

I will give the collection place a call tomorrow and see if they are opened weekends or after 5pm because the only other problem will be work for him etc. Our FS said I could drop it in for him and she said its not uncommon for that to happen because a lot of guys can be nervous and embarassed about going in to do so. So knowing my DP soooo well I will prob be the one to hand it in for him but since I hand in samples all the time I am not too concerned about that

Well DP always says I have a 'hot' box sooo I may just do the same, since thats the only place I tend to radiate heat and the rest of my body tends to be cold PMSL

our clinic just gives us the SPECIEL CONDOMS but shame there so small dhs thingy nearly fell off the last time lol so we just use the speciel jar
and then walk it over to the clinic
