Your first cycle is new for you and your FS...you have no idea how your body is going to react until you get going. They will be keeping close eye on you and monitoring your puregon dose etc. Try not to worry...take it step by step...focus on the positive...you've got follies growing...you're off and running! It is a long process and the next few weeks are going to feel like years so look after yourself. Don't think any question is too silly...that's what your clinic is there for! Good luck xxx
Curmon, even if you do get OHSS it's not the end of the world.
I had it pretty badly on my stim cycle - had 26 eggs collected and took three weeks to recover, narrowly avoided being hospitalised (mainly through being too stubborn to actually go). We couldn't transfer, I was far too sick and gets worse with pregnancy...
But, after a bit of a wait, we did our first FET in June. It worked. Sadly, I miscarried at 8.5 weeks (for reasons completely unrelated to the OHSS and the FET). We'll be having our second transfer soon, this time with a few more drugs to counteract the other issues that were discovered.
Yes, if it happens it's disappointing, painful, and just downright uncomfortable, but you do recover, and you can go on to have a successful pregnancy afterwards.
