How long to get period after stop pill

Hi,

I am on my first IVF cycle and had my last pill on Friday. I am currently on Synral and started that last Tuesday.

For those who have been on the pill as part of your IVF cycle - how long after your last pill did it take for you to get your period? I have to start my purgeon (sp) injections on Thursday and I am really hoping (for the first time in the last 16 months!!!!) to get my period before then otherwise we have to put everything back.

I don't think I had a period between pill/Syneral & starting Puregon and that wasn't a problem, I went on to get 15 eggs & 8 embryos from that stim cycle.

I normally get my period 2 days later after stopping the pill. All the best for your first IVF cycle, I hope it is your one and only and you get a BFP at the end. Hugs xx

Hi Kasam, I had AF 1-2 days after the pill (I think) and by the time the injections start my AF is almost finished though I was told that not everyone have the AF while on Synarel. The most important thing is the hormones level are low enough when you start the injections. In my 2nd stim cycly, I opted not to not be on the pill so when AF didn't arrive, my FS made me take double dose of the synarel before I could start the injections (which triggered my AF). You should call up the clinic and tell them. They will tell you if you need to up the synarel or not. Good luck!

looks like we are at the same stage, i was just coming on here to ask about this same topic

i stopped the pill on saturday and i am still on the syneral have been for a week now and was wondering if i will get af?? if i wasnt on the pill my af would be due thursday the 30th so i dont know if i will get it or not?? i have a bt tomorrow to check my hormone levels are nice and low, and if all is good i start my injections saturday!!!!

Thanks for the responses girls - I actually had to go to the clinic today to pay my money and collect my injections and was told that if I hadn't had AF by Wednesday to call them. I thought I had cramping today but I think I was just tricking myself somehow. Hopefully when I wake up tomorrow I have it. It is all so scary right now

i too have been feeling a little crampy and have been doing toilet checks while at work today so hopefully it wont be long and she will be here.

i am a little worried about bt tomorrow, i really hope everything is nice and low, i really dont want to have to push things back until all is where it should be.

Hi Girls

Just thought I would let you know the last time I had a stim cycle I stopped the pill on the Tuesday, continued with syneral and got AF on the Friday. I am about to start syneral on Wednesday and take last pill next Tuesday, I am guessing it will be around the Friday again for me. But it is different for everyone and not everyone gets a period. At my clinic if you don't have AF in 6 days they just straight onto injections.

not long till you start syneral, how do you go with it?? do you suffer much from the side effects? wishing you all the best for your cycle and feel free to pm me if you like, we are all around the sametime, its amazing how many of us are in or about to do cycles, i was going to join the ltttc thread but there is just soooooo many people in there, i would be affraid of upsetting someone for not including there names in the personals but there are just so many i would forget where there upto. i go in and read but never post i am a little shy and worry all the time how my post might be taken.

What the other ladies said. You can either get AF, have spotting or no AF at all. All completely normal.

I am cycling (in a round about donor way) with you and M2C. My sis starts her stims on Thursday and I will start my HRT.

M2C I am the same. I want to get AF outta the way ASAP!

Well it has now been 5 days since I stopped the pill and no AF - I am going out of my mind here!!!!!! I rang the clinic today and was told to go and have my blood test - I swear that whilst driving there I thought it was going to happen as I started to get cramps but alas nothing yet. I have to ring tomorrow to get the results of my bloods and then we will see where we go to from there. I am so stressed and upset and everything else right now. From the sounds of it unless our levels are flatlining until I get AF we won't be going forward which means that I will have to rebook time off with work and so will DH - man so many hassles.

Here's hoping I have flatlining hormones tomorrow and AF!

i know you must be feeling stressed right now, hopefully tomorrow your results will give you some answers. i really hope you dont have to push everything back either.

let us know how you get on with your results ok

take it easy and try not to stress to much ( i know easier said then done )
