how long will my FS make me wait?

Just wondering if my FS will force us out for a cycle (after miscarriage), before doing another IUI? We want to keep going this year because we are already at our Medicare Safety Net, and the IUI's from here are only $115 OOP plus the $30 or so for the clomid. How many cycles break are recommended?

I'm not sure about the IUI, but I was told I couldn't go back for my FET after a m/c for at least 2 AF's.

I'm sorry that you're going through this hun

Is the miscarriage AF#1, or does it not count? Thanks....

Hmmm, that's a good question. But no, I was to wait 3 full cycles (after the miscarriage). So basically, we had our miscarriage in October 2008 and our FS wouldn't let us do our IUI until the end of January 2009 when I'd had 3 AF's.

I went and had some acupuncture in that time to bring AF back into line. My cycles were ridiculous after my m/c.

Maruschke, I am so sorry you are going through this.

I have two slightly different scenarios (but I was doing IVF not IUI) but what happened with me:

After my MC at 8-9wks I had to sit out one full cycle. So this bleed would be the start of that cycle. I then had to wait for AF to turn up again and I was able to start another cycle then (so really only 28days).
After my 2 chemical pregancies (both early losses 4-5wks low hcg readings) I only had to wait until my hcg was down to less than 2. I have a long cycle so both times I was able to go straight into another cycle without waiting.

So I guess I would say you need to talk to your FS. They might have a policy that you need to sit out...mine didnt.
You will need to get your hcg levels monitored because they need to be below 2 before they will even consider starting again.

    Lots of hugs again.

If your FS is away and he/she doesn't practise in a group, then I think you'll have to wait this month out. You could still get 2 IUIs in before the end of the year (though hopefully you'll only need 1).

I know with IVF you had to wait for the miscarriage to pass and then start when AF next arrived for a transfer. But it might be different with IUIs...

I called him, since my hcg is so low (hcg=34, prog=7) he is happy for us to move ahead this cycle and get a scan through another QFG clinic. Phew.
