Thanks for the reply. Do you mind telling me how long he said it could take for a success? I had my IUIs with Dr Tsaltas, and when asked them about IVF they told me that it takes on average 7 - 8 tries before most get a BFP? That seems long to me (I know theres no guarantee of course, but that just seems long). I haven't got Medicare so I have to pay the Overseas Visitors Rate which is $8200 per cycle - 8 of those is alot of dosh.
I'm one of Lyndon Hale's patients as well. I haven't met Dr Tsaltas but have heard that he is good. Is he the endometriosis expert?
Lyndon has a very good reputation. There is often a wait to get in to see him (could be six months ... depending on how many people he is currently seeing). We were one of the lucky ones who had success first cycle, first try. He also diagnosed my endo and cleaned it up. As Jane said he's very thorough and patient but doesn't muck around either.
Good luck with whoever you choose. MIVF is a nice friendly clinic.
Mel
Edited to add: I'm sorry but I didn't address the part of your question about how long it might take. I'm guessing you might have been given an average figure but everyone's case is so different I don't know how they can determine what would be "average" if you know what I mean.
Thanks Mel. Yes Dr. Tsaltas is the Endo expert. I guess I just got a fright at the 8 tries comment... But he is a good doctor so I may stick with him... I was hoping someone here might have used him for IVF. Maybe I'll give them a call about Dr. Hale too, just in case. I like the sound of your success on the first try!! :-) Thanks alot!!
Lyndon keeps telling me he is going to try and have me pregnant by CHristmas LOL, I think he's serious too. I won't hold him to his word if it doesn't happen, but he never mentioned 8 times as a ballpark.
I hope he's right and I am using Melbo as my inspiration It would be the most fantastic christmas present I think.
