    IVF and skincare

HI guys, im just starting my first ivf and am still in the early stages, I've just come off the pill and on syneral still waiting for my blood test on tuesday for the ok to go ahead with the injections yay! Just wondering.. i use salicylic acid gel on my skin every night as i have some acne, does anyone know if it might affect with ivf? Because apparantly you shouldnt use it when you pregnant.

i've not heard anything for sure with that product, but i've had it suggested pretty much from the get go to behave as if you are pregnant as some of the drugs they put you on (particularly trigger) have the same reaction in your body as a pregnancy. plus if there is something you're not sure of, play it safe - last thing you want to do is put the success of your cycle at risk...

straight IVF is where they put egg and sperm in the petri dish, and see how they get along. if they find that your partners boys don't seem to be doing all that well, they might inject the swimmers (icsi)

    good luck!

i find that i can kinda "feel" the injection, but it's more just a consciousness of the fluid travelling into my system i think

we're using ICSI next ivf cycle (if we have to do ivf again)
