Just thought I'd drop a post to say hi. As I haven't started yet I'm not much help. However reading all your posts is helping me lots.
Loops- So sorry to hear Af arrived.
Kmond- GL with this cycle.
PLC- thanks for dropping by
Ella's mum- I never had any problem with Alcohol & clomid. On saying that I probably never had more than a glass or two.
B2B- Great news! Go get that train!
Nikki- How are you going?
Hope everyone I missed is well.
AFM- I see the FS on Monday! Yay!!! Hopefully I can get things rolling. Does anyone know if they will make me wait longer before I can start? Since my recent ectopic and tube removal has only been 4 weeks and AF hasn't arrived yet. I am hoping to start the cycle as soon as AF arrives.
I hope everyone is doing ok - there is alot of positivity in here at the moment!
This post is just a quickie - I had my BT and first ultrasound this morning and the nurse seemed a little bit concerned about the amount of follicles. I have at least 12 on each side maybe more than 24 all together. I am meant to be having my trigger on Monday and my EPU on Wednesday. I am a little bit freaked out about getting OHSS because my FS was concerned I would get this anyway and started me on a lower dose of Gonal F and the antagonist cycle to reduce the risk. Has anyone had OHSS? How bad is it really? - all the drug side effects sheets sometimes seem alot scarier!!
BOC - pmsl at your acu experience - I'm so immature and still think farts are sooo funny so there is no way i coudln't have laughed. Good luck jabbing and sniffing, I had no pain from Gonal shots but the trigger shot was nasty...
Mrs P - congrats on being baseline. thinking of you
Possums - I'm sorry you've been feeling down, but its understandable, be especially nice to yourself and take care. talk to us and get it out whenever you feel you have to. x
Baby2Bee - you're not being sad - just proactive! I completely understand your impatience. Hoping you are happily jabbing away a.s.a.p. Also, to answer your question there just isn't an 'average' time for IVF success or 'average' IVF cycle to be honest. We are all so different. Hoping you have a dream run and get your BFP first up.
Mahli09 - i had mild OHSS. Very similar to you over 20 follies -they got 18 eggs at EPU. They were going to cancel my ET but their policy was under 20 eggs see how i felt and transfer - over 20 and they would have cancelled. with my OHSS I was very uncomfortable - even to walk hurt as i felt 'full' in there, i also had bloating and a few kilos weight gain (all fluid). Drink lots of water and try sustegen (sp?). OHSS can be very serious but your FS and nurses will keep an eye on you. Weigh yourself every morning and if you have weight gain call your nurses a.s.a.p. Better to be safe than sorry. Just my experience. Hoping you avoid it all together - fingers crossed.
Kmond - hi, nice to 'meet' you. Good luck with your first IVF cycle - hoping it'll be your last and you get your BFP.
Sandygirl - Good luck with the FS on Monday. I'm not sure if they will make you wait - it probably depends on how you are feeling physically after your ectopic. How are you feeling? No pain i hope.
AFM- AF finally here today - spotted for over a week first though - grrr. So day 1 for me - hoping for a FET in about two weeks time. This will be #5. Not feeling very positive to be honest. Time will tell.
EllasMum - thanks for your thoughts. I didnt have to get BT done in the end. I was thinking yestie will I still go and get it done even though AF was arriving but I thought I would leave it a day to see what happened but today AF is here with avengence.
Glad AF came for you. I am expecting a long cycle now too - bloomin hormone injections.
KMond - thanks for your thoughts, as above didnt go for BT in the end - didnt need to.
GL with the follies - sounds promising though. GL today.
B2B - Glad AF arrived. GL
Kurby - thanks mate. Looks like we will be joining you on the IVF road, when we can afford it. Once we move and settle a bit we will have you around for dinner. Where do you guys live exactly again? GL with the injections.
Jme - thanks. I think our specialist said we would be out of pocket about $4000 so hopefully wont be much more. I'll find out next Thurs anyway when I see him.
GL with your scan on Monday and for your transfer.
MrsP - Hope June come around quick for you ... and me.
BecD - and with this cycle and any decisions you may have to make.
Sandygirl - Thanks for your support and GL on Mon and I hope AF arrives for you soon.
Mahli - GL with trigger and EPU. Cant help with the OHSS sorry
AFM - Not happy that AF arrived. Off to the FS on Thursday and will probably be talking about starting ISCI we imagine but not sure if we can afford it just yet. We'll see.
Loops we must have being posting at the same time. I'm so sorry AF arrived, i know it hurts so much and I'm thinking of you. Take care of yourself. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. x
Sorry infinity I think we posted at the same time. Sorry your not feeling very positive. Me neither to be honest, Im just so stressed about the cost of all this.
But hang in there and Im sure we will get there soon. Thniking of you x
Infinity: yep I must be a little immature too cause I thought it was hilarious.
Mahli: with ya there, I too walk the fine line between normal & OHSS and was given a lower dose of puregon to start with. I have to have another BT Sun to make sure my follies don't OS. Love the name by the way, Mahli is one of our favourite girl's names.
sandygirl: don't fret, just having your encouragement is great and one day you'll be the experienced one giving advice to the newbies.
B2B: I'm not sure exactly, I think they said to us maybe 6 rounds or something, but the counsellor told us to expect about 18mths to 2 years, that's what I've been telling people anyway in the hope they would quit with the "are you pregnant yet" questions for a while (althought THAT hasn't worked at all!) Good luck joining the IVF train and hope you hit it first shot!
To everyone else and lots of and !
AFM had 1st scan & BT this morning. Approx 13 good of the bigger follies, and about 24 little ones. The big ones are good but are only 11-13mm and they want to build thenm to about 17mm so we have been told EPU will be Tues or Wed, and I have to have another scan/BT on Sun
Have been so very emotional, which for me is not usual and is rather freaking out DH. I started crying last night and he couldn't handle it and went to bed, which I'm not too happy about - I really need him right now. I pretty much haven't stopped since, I cried all over the poor nurse in the clinic this morning and I even cried at the supermarket a little while ago when I couldn't find the frozen peas in their normal section! I hate feeling like this, would much rather be ripping people's heads off than bawling all the time. It's hard because noone else around me seems to get it, and the few people we know that do understand are so wrapped up in their own problems that they don't really care. Does anyone else feel this alone?
Anyway better get off here, my parents will be arriving any moment. Off to Thai for dinner tonight, yum yum, haven't had it in ages but not really sure I should be inflicting myself on the general public in my current state...
Hope you all have a great weekend and wherever you may be in your cycle!
(Post started: 12:30PM - Post finnished: 8PM)
"Sorry for the delay, i am running the farm atm and had to get back out there to babysit the M.G Dude fixing the feed system, Geez, i mean come on! Anyway..."

Hope everyone's doing well with their April cycling!
Ella : You can take a couple of pain relief tablets before you go. I found it uncomfortable, I don't have a very high pain threshold going on here, though. Just a little hint, that I didnt realise before. GL shopping around.
Hi to everyone - there's a lot of us at the moment which means lots of support to be shared around!
Mahli09 - Have you had your EPU yet? Fingers crossed all goes well for you
Infinity - Sending you some positivity vibes and hope you're feeling more positive this week. with your FET.
BOC - all the very best for tomorrow. I had my EPU yesterday and had a general as I had a lot of eggs so not sure about the whole sedation thing.
Saph204 - for you for more than one follie
mitf - a difficult decision as to when to move on from IUI to IVF but one that only you know the answer to. We did 2 cycles of IUI then decided to go straight to IVF - with male factor infertility our chances were low with IUI but we're all different and you've got to find what's right for you
For anyone I've missed - sorry but am sending lots of
AFM - had EPU yesterday and got 31 eggs - 25 of which were able to be ICSI'd. They rang us this morning and said that 23 have fertilised which is great news. On the down side I am at high risk of OHSS and have a low chance of being allowed to go ahead with a transfer on Fri/Sat so desperately desperately hoping we don't get cancelled and are able to go ahead. Anyone got any tips on how to help avoid OHSS - sustagen did somebody mention??
Goodluck everyone!
