    Hi all you lovely ladies

After lurking for a couple of months, I've decided to come out from under my chair and join you all again. My goodness, so much has been happening, its hard to catch up!

Renee - for you, I sooo am hoping that its good news... good luck with the POAS on the weekend.

Terry - so pleased to see you're back on the wagon! Hope you've enjoyed your break from this madness. for you too, that it is a resounding success!

Loops - hope you're recovering nicely, sweetie, you went through so much, that there's some wonderful news this month! Enjoy your trip to Tassie.

    HI to all the newcomers!

AFM - I'm in the thick of my first IVF cycle, and a bit nervy. I had my egg collection yesterday, feeling OK today, even though they got 36 eggs (I had a heart attack when I saw the number on my hand, the joys of PCOS I guess). Am on OHSS watch at the moment, on Monday my E2 level was 29000. Off to acupuncture again this arvo, which I think is helping. We're planning for a day 5 transfer on Monday, if I don't go downhill in the meantime.

I'd love to pick your brains about the embies if I could - of the ones that fertilised (they did ICSI on the viable eggs), I was wondering if we should freeze a couple on day 3, or go for broke with them and go for just blasties? We have to decide by tomorrow, and I have no idea what to do...

Thanks in advance for your help. Hope you're all having a great day!

Hi Leabie, If it's any help, most FSs prefer to use day 3 embies on frozen cycles. Debate rages about day 3 and day 5 for fresh cycles. On my last stim cycle I kept more out from the deep freeze as I hadn't seen a blasty on my two previous stims - and this was against my FS advice. Some were frozen at day 3. I got a good number of blasties, which was great at the time, but when we started doing the frozen cycles they don't want to use the blasties - only as a back-up if the day 3s don't thaw well. Still, having said that, they will use blasties in frozen cycles if there are no day 3s. Hope this helps, hun!

    Welcome to the newcomers!

Hi to all the other lovely ladies!

Thanks so much for that Brunette! I think I'll stick a few day 3's in the freezer.

CONGRATULATIONS to you!! So excited to see your news. Hope you have a happy & healthy pregnancy!

For the people who are doing acupuncture...at what stage in your cycle do you go? Im thinking of starting (It cant hurt, right?!) just trying to work out when I should make an appointment, dont want to go and they say they cant do anything until next month etc. Also, has anyones DH had acupuncture? Just wondering if there is anything to say it can help if he has it to?

Yeah Leabie, I think freezing a few just in case is a good idea. For the cycle we got DS we put 4 in the freezer at day 3 and ended up with 3 blasties.
This time the embryologist recommended thawing the 4 day-3s and seeing if we could get any blasties - only one made it. So we still have our 2 'backups'

It's interesting (in a way) and I'm not sure why, but some people seem to do much better with blasties and some with day-3 embies. Blasts seem to work better for us.

Albi - I guess it can be helpful at any stage, but I know it's often recommended before and after transfer.

    Renee.

Hi everyone else - Hope you're all travelling well. I'm mostly just back to lurking these days

loops: haven't strated the needles yet start them next wednesady which am still scared but I am just going to suck it up as I keep reminding myself it's not like I am meant to enjoy the needles it's all for a good cause we are down to 6 pups and yes they are very cute and am really attatched to this litter I think it's all the hormones I am on.
Haven't had headaches as such just sort of a dull feeling like there is one on the way that doesn't come which is progress and am enjoying it very much.
Ohhh chick I so hope you get that big neon sign in the morning but yes definately for you no headaches is a great sign do you have ANY of your usual af symptoms?
BTW have heard that apparently after a M/C you are super fertile and can get utd easily I think it has something to do with the m/c cleaning everything out I surpose the same way a lap/curette would.
I have all toes fingers and everything x'd for you chick let me klnow how you go

    Question Here we go again

Sorry ladies -haven't had chance to catch up with everyone's news...

My FS did prescribe presoline (spelling?) - had heard a few bad symptoms connected to this so just wondering how others found it.

Had ET today - embies not doing so well - had a cell 7 and a cell 8 ranked as a 2.5 out of a possible 4 transferred - others not looking so good. Had a new emby divide so now that makes six all up ... FS will see how they go over the next few days rather than freeze now.

Just lying around taking it easy today. Have still been in quite a bit of pain since ET - but FS thinks all is doing well.

Have to say - so far best ET ever!!! FX

    Hi Ladies,
My AF arrived today, so am starting yet another cycle.... this time a FET with hopefully a blast to be transferred. Had a wonderful month off, so much so that I don't know if I want to do this again, but I know the prize is worth it if it all works out. Great to see some BFP's in here, I hope there are a few more in here soon!
It will take me a while to catch-up on where everyone is up to I think but hope everyone is well!

albi, I did acupuncture weekly for 4 months before my last IVF to allow her time to work on my egg quality as much as possible. For the actual IVF cycle I was still just going weekly until EPU. Then I went the the night before my transfer and was supposed to go straight from transfer back to acu but my transfer was cancelled. If your transfer is later in the day a good acu will do a treatment immediately before and then immediately after the transfer. There are certainly plenty of men who go to acu for fertility treatments, but my acu said it will only help (anyone, not just men) if they want to do it, so don't try to force him. I'd guess they may want about 3 months to work on his sperm quality, but even if you don't have that long every bit helps. Plus it's so relaxing!

    Hi Everyone.

Welcome to all the new people, and hope you don't stay with us for too long.

I'm still lurking, but still waiting for scan on Sat (ooh, that's tomorrow and then I find ut when transfer date is. Sometime next week Hopefully adfter Tuesday as I am due to go see Kelly Clarkson Tuesday night and will be really upset if I have to sell my tickets...

I've been doing accupuncture on and off, and I do find it makes me less stressed. I'm not really sure when the right times are. The accupuncturist told me to go twice a week. I have an appointment for later today, and then wil go Sunday and/or the day before transfer. I was petrified of needles before I started with IVF, but hey, be get poked and prodded enough, whats a few more needles Accupuncture is fairly pain free - my new one thought twists the needles a little and that can hurt for less than a second before settling, and I fall asleep.

    Happy Friday everyone!

    Hi All,

GL with your scan babytruj. Hope you get to go to the concert. I saw her last Sat night and she is BRILLIANT!!

Sorry to hear of your BFN, Loops. Big hugs xxx

Lairdoz - here's hoping this blastie is the one!

Chekigal - how are you feeling? Have you had any further updates?

Trueblue - don't stress about the needles. It's amazing how routine it all becomes (although I am a big wuss and DH has to do them for me and I had to go to the Dr's once when he wasn't home)

Hi to everyone else.... I hope you all enjoy your weekend

AFM: Am having a girl's night this weekend which is LONG overdue (I'm talking years!) although I will try to keep it down to only a few beverages. I am about 6-7 weeks off starting a new stim cycle but don't want to jeopardise my egg quality(I feel I am being a bit pedantic - but I tend to walk on eggshells when it comes to all things TTC. Am I being OTT? I need some perspective, I'm not talking binge drinking here but by having 5 or 6 drinks over the course of an afternoon and evening.)

Am also looking forward to my first accupuncture consult on Tues. It's amazing how many of us in this thread are trying acp.

Maggie; Lairdoz & Terry - THANK YOU! it feels so nice to know there are others virtually the same day's in the cycle as i am on (Me = D11). My lil icycle is a blasty, so prob ET at end of next week though!

Everyone else - FX crossed to those working through all the med's. It's so frustrating and confusing at times, if only there was a 'standard' procedure for us, but then again, i guess if there was, we'd probably just fall naturally hey!

TWW's - and everything else to get you through to the BFP!

Chekigal – so sorry to read your BFN. Hope you are OK

Leabie – Thinking of you and wishing you all the luck in the world for tomorrow. Know that there are lots of us thinking of you tonight as we know the feeling waiting for the BT!

Murraycod – I am so sorry to hear about DH not giving you the support you need. I made a deal with my DH that I would do everything I could on my own, but that meant when I asked him for help, he knew I really needed it. I reminded him of that if he looked like he was going to get annoyed about him having to do something for me but boys can really be useless sometimes can’t they! You might find doing the jabs yourself is less stressful?

Babytruj, I am also have a transfer on Tuesday, but I am not starting progesterone until Friday night so not sure why I am starting mine later than you (I’m not being closely monitored as I ovulate on Femara which is like Clomid). The FET is just like IUI if you have had that, or like a pap smear except they do it in a theatre because the embie needs a sterile environment.

KitKat72 – Goodluck, it’s so hard not to try and analyse all our symptoms isn’t it. I hope the next week goes really quickly for you and that of course ends with you getting a BFP. FX for you

Tantee – I am horrified by some of the stories I read about other peoples FS’s. If you are part of a clinic you should speak to the nurse/coordinator as surely another doctor can do the transfer if your treatment is already agreed with your FS. I’m so sorry for the stress you have to go through, that’s really crap! You make me feel pretty lucky that my FS works 7 days a week as it’s obvious many of you don’t get treated with the respect you deserve sometimes.

Maggie - Good luck with your scan

Terry – Hope you are surviving this rollercoaster ride.

Trueblue – great news that you can progress! Yippee!

JustOneMore – Thinking of you and really hoping that this month is your month. Hopefully you are relaxing and watching the time go by quickly until you have your BT.

Kimbe – yep I am four days ahead of you and hopefully the time will fly by quickly for all of us!

Mildez Loops K78 Juniper anyone else I have missed, hope you are all doing OK.

AFM – No news at all, I start pessaries tomorrow night although I know I ovulated early this morning but as it’s a fairly close to natural FET I think my doctor gives me two days to ovulate and doesn’t want to start the pessaries too early (that’s what I’d like to think anyway). FET is planned for Tuesday so I guess my BT is the about two weeks away!
