    Hello everyone,

Marsha - I hope everything went well for you yesterday.
Smithy - Glad to hear that you are feeling the vibes with your new FS. I love Dr. Lok, he has my complete faith and trust. I think it is very important in this process.

To everyone else - I am going to come back later today and send you some personal wishes, but today I am celebrating a milestone - expensive lunch and champagne for me today.

My EPU couldn't have been a more pleasant experience - I know it sounds crazy, but as soon as I walked in the door it was professional, caring and no messing around.

I was taken straight thru to a recovery area that would be mine for the duration of the process. The nurse came in explained the process and continually made sure I was ok and comfortable with the way the procedure had been explained

I was then met by my FS (dr Lok - I had his email and mobile right from the first meeting also) and he took me thru to the EPU room.

I was then given my sedation - I like champagne so that was what they all referenced the sedative from then on.

Dr Lok then pointed out the uterus on the U/S and told my husband that at day 5 "this is where we will put the little baby to grow, it's safe new home" - I loved that he didn't call it a fertilized embryo or anything else that would sound clinical.

Anyway long story short - I felt slight discomfort, the sedative made me laugh then cry and then laugh then cry. I got to see my eggs on a big-ass flat screen tv monitor and in the end we got 6 - but only 4 mature.

I had mild cramping all day yesterday and slept quite a bit - I think emotion rather than drugs or the procedure. I was waited on hand and foot by my beautiful Husband and when the hot water bottle ran out of heat my gorgeous cat took it upon himself to take it's place.

The clinic just rang to tell me that all 4 have fertilized 'normally' and they will call me again on Tuesday to let me know the progress and quality. I cried, and cried and cried - with relief.

My DH is also relieved as he was still worrying about his sperm (anti-sperm antibodies) the reason we were referred to Sydney IVF in the first place.

Transfer is pencilled in for Thursday. I know I'm going to start worrying again, but not today.

This is like the IVF Olympics in here - so much happening I can hardly keep up!
Nixon great to hear your EPU went well. I read with much interest as I am hoping I get to have my first one either this Saturday 23rd or MOnday 25th. After having to cancel last one due to overstim I really just want to make it to first base. I had a scan today and progressing well, had about 13 follies still small but due to low dose of 112.5, (was upped from 75 on Friday after scan and not much happened) am sticking to 112.5 as I have big likelyhood of overstim after last time, so we are taking it slowly. I have another scan on Weds and then possibly start antagonist- most likely EPU will be Monday 25th at this stage but that may change.
KAte B, Kelly D and Kahlan, lets hope our oarsome foursome goes for Gold!
Sending all the best to everyone x

Hi everyone well tonight is the night for me my trigger is at 11pm and my epu is Wed and my clinic does it under a general anesthetic dont like the fact that i have to be at the hospital 3 hrs prior though.
I had bloods and a scan and as far as i know there are 11 follicles all pretty good sizes.

Sounds great Aleenta, if everything goes well we will be having TF at very similar time... we will rock this place with our BFP!

Good luck Mel...hope you get lots of eggs on Wed!

Nic, how are you going? Any news about the status of your embies????

To everyone else, hope you are well.

AFM, AF is almost finished but my BBs are starting to be a bit tender, can't be the estrogen going spastic! But that is a good thing anyway, it would mean I will ovulate... hopefully at the right time and not be delayed ... it is always hard to know after a stim cycle and a m/c.

Smithy: How are you travelling sweets? Are you underway yet?

Oscar: What's happening with you? Where are you at these days with your plans?

Bee83: How about you Bee? Have you had more U/s & BT's yet? What is you news?

Aleenta: How are you travelling sweetheart? When is your next U/s BT? I'm keeping fingers crossed that the Over Stim doesn't occur again. It sounds like they are playing it pretty safe this time round, which is good. Are you going for general or sedative for your EPU? BTW - I still have mild general bloated feeling/very minor discomfort. There has been no bleeding even though that is fairly common.

Mel: AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!! Super excited for you. Best of luck for Wednesday. Make sure that you get pampered whilst you recover (I'm still milking it for all it's worth). Let us know how you go.

Kahlan: You sounds like you are in a pretty good headspace at the moment. Best of luck sweets for the next couple of weeks. I'll be keeping an eye on you.

Marsha: Honey, where are you? How did you get on for Saturday? I hope it went well for you babe. Just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you .

AFM: I couldn't help myself yesterday and I rang the SIVF and asked if I could check on my eggs. I felt a bit silly cause they did tell me on Sunday that they would call me today (Tuesday) to give me an update. But they were totally lovely and awesome and didn't make me feel stupid or silly at all.

Day 2 - between 2 & 4 cells is what is expected. We had 3 embies @ 4cells and 1 @ 2 cells. I had another injection of Pregnyl last night but only 1500 this time as apposed to the 5000 for trigger.

Now I am playing the waiting game again for the next call to let us know how my little future babies are going. Hopefully, I should get a time for the transfer today so I can book my accupuncture appoinements. I'm taking Thursday & Friday off this week because I will not be able to concentrate at work anyway.

Just something I wanted to put out there and you can call me weird I won't be offended. When I had the egg pick up done - I really wish my hubbie had brought his digital camera along. I was blown away that I got to SEE my eggs. They looked beautiful - just like a sun. Just something that the girls going for their pick up might want to consider. I would have loved to get it printed on a canvas - very abstract. Not every woman gets to see her eggs on a flat screen. Anyway - just a thought.

Not weird at all hun. I think that is a wonderful idea. DH and I have done it a couple of times if they allow us to (sterile rules differ between clinics). I have some great pics of DH, my sis and I in scrubs, with funny hats and photos of the U/S when the embie was being put in. Also you can normally ask your clinic for a picture/photocopy of your embies. They should have them on your file. May help with visualisations and realising this is all very real.

Good luck to all you ladies this month. Would love to see some more BFPs!

Thanks Dusty. I'm thinking I might ask if they have any digital copies of the eggs on file. I'm sure they must for documentation purposes not to mention research data. I'm hoping that they will be able to email me a copy. SIVF have been so accomodating so far i'm sure if they have a pic they will let me have it.

One quick question - does anyone know? When they do a day 5 transfer, do they know the gender or is it still undetermined? A friend asked me on the weekend and I hadn't thought about it before and it got me curious.

    Hi All

Nixon: Yay for you, fingers crossed they all grow some more and you get to put back some good looking emby's.

Aleenta: Hope all is going well and showing no signs of OHSS this time around.

Everyone else, I all hope your journey's this month are going well. There are so many of us in here at the moment that hopefully we get some good results at the end of it.

AFM: Yay, AF turned up yesterday so we are now on track. Start the pill on Friday for our HRT FET cycle and start Syneral on the 7th Sept. Twice a day until I'm told to stop (not looking forward to it, I much rather prefer the injections... Does that make me strange). So based on the dates now we are looking at the FET just after Grand Final Day, which is great as we are going away for the weekend and will be able to relax before the big event. We have also been confirmed that it is all o.k to have 2 transferred as I'm an old chook, so today I am sooo happy although am suffering with a head cold and managing on Panadiene only. But good news always make me feel better.

Thanks KellyD - I hope you are over your headcold soon.

    I got the call.

Day 3 expectations are that the cells are between 6 & 8. SIVF ratings are Good, Fair or Poor (I think).

We have 2 @ 8 cells and 2 @ 7 cells - all rated as good. I'm stoked. Still no confirmed time or anything yet. But I've pencilled in my acupuncture for 830am anyway.

We're going with our Dr.'s recommendation - day 5 Blasty. I have been very happy ith his choices and plan so far, so I'm happy to keep on trusting

I was telling Linda earlier this morning (before the call) that I was thinking that if they ended up telling me there was one Emby that wasn't travelling so well then I was considering talking to my Dr to see about transferring it earlier and freezing the rest in the hopes that the weaker one would do better inside.

But thankfully I haven't needed to make that decision and they are all right on track. Grow little future babies - Grow

Nixon: I think if you get to blasty stage you have a good chance. You must be feeling releived and anxious all at the same time. I know when I had my EPU I was anxious about the numbers and I had lots. Your 3 are so precious so I am sending you lots of and positve vibes.

I'm anxious to see if when I have my transfer if they use some of my day 3 embryo's or my day 5 blasty's. I think I would much prefer to transfer my blasty's, but my FS seems to prefer using the day 3's first and then using the blasty's last as I have so many day 3's in safe keeping they seem certain that some of them will grow after transfer. I suppose I can only wait and see.
