Juniper could you please put me down as taking a break till FET in October, I have decided as this is my last chance that I need to do some prep before doing my FET so at least if it fails I can say I done everything I could and can walk away knowing I've done my all. Thanks

Hi girls, I hope everyone is ding great.
I had appointment with FS yesterday to plan IVF on September. I will be on Puregon 250, but 1 week before AF I will start with synarel, I think its twice a day... Also I will take DHEA and was supposed to take melatonin, but at the end she gave me the prescription for DHEA, but not for melatonin, I went to the chemist and they had some over the counter chewable tablets of melatonin. Are they the same, or is this a diff melatonin? I tried to contact FS but she wasn't available. Apparently, they are supposed to help with egg quality.

CatyO, the melatonin I take was a prescription. I had to take it to a compounding pharmacy to be made.

Juniper, I'm actually CD6 today (Tuesday). I think the time difference meant you thought 'today' was the previous day... Or something!

Looks like no- one else is cycling this month with me. Oh well. I had my cd6 BT today, and my oestrogen is 'surging nicely', apparently. I am to come in Tomorrow for another BT and US. Hoping for lots of follicles! Thank goodness mum is happy to take DS at 6.30am so I can get there for 7am!

Kind of curious as to how they differentiate between follicles and cysts, though. Anyone know?

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception August 2014

Pholi, sorry, fixed now. It was the timestamp issue, as you guessed... As far as the cysts, I'm not 100% sure since I've not had one, but I think they're often a different shape? But I don't think they can always tell (or maybe that depends on the experience of the person doing the u/s)? GL for tomorrow!

    Thanks, Juniper.

I'll ask the sonographer tomorrow. I didn't have any cysts last time.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception August 2014

So the sonographer said that basically they can't tell the difference between a cyst and a follicle. That's why they check for cysts before you start. And in my case, starting with a 1.7cm cyst, they bear it in mind if the lead 'follicle' was much bigger than the others, but in my case today, the lead follicle wS 1.4cm with the others at 1.3, 1.2, etc, as they'd expect. So one of them may or may not be the cyst still.

Anyway, there were only 5 follicles above 1cm. Plus 2 more below 1cm. :/ cd7... I am disappointed. Last time I had about 13 at this stage and I still only got 3 eggs at collection.

How many follicles does everyone else have at this stage?

I started the orgalutran this morning, because of the size of the lead follicle, and I have another BT and scan on Friday..

Pholi - at that stage I had 10 follicles, but only 5 were 1 cm or 1.1 cm, the other five were 8mm. Then they increased gonal f, I don't remember if at this stage or 2 days later...
