Aother week almost over and I am on hols for two weeks. Yay now I can spend all my time googling all manner of things about ivf while I give myself injection after injection (should start gonal f next weds)
Tantee- Glad to hear ET went ahead
Seph- Here's some more
airline and Coral73- Todays another day to cross off the calendar.
Mitf- Hope AF turns up this weekend
Meltcc- Hope you are going ok on the pill. It is interesting how we started on the same day but the timing is quite different. Are you starting synarel today?
Loops- I hope you are ok, we havent heard from you in a while.
Lise and Nix- I read your posts with much interest as I am at MIVF too. I see Hossam Elzeiney. He also does all of my scans. I can see him at a satelite clinic in Epping, but have to go to East Melbourne when he does the scans. So will be there next weds if anyone is around.:
I am actually considered a private patient of his, so everytime I have an app with him I have to pay 75 dollars (although by the time I get the medicare rebate it is next to nothing). I had to go private rather than bulk billed otherwise I had to wait for 8 weeks for an appointment.
How do you find out a doctor's strike rate? I didn't know that information was available.
Lise I am starting on 300 straight away, I find it interesting that you started on 150. When they did the scan to see how the follies were growing did they consider increasing the dose or do they just keep you on the same dose?
I better stop writing and go to work, Have a great day today.
tantee - yay!!! I can imagine the relief washing over you as you took that gown! good luck and take it well easy
sonyalouise Happy holidays!!!!!!! wow 300, that's quite a lot isn't it?! I started on 150, so they could see how it affected me, then 185 for 2nd cycle and now 225 for my 3rd...soon good luck
Hi all
Sorry had a couple days off work and didnt get on BB - too many other things to do at home. Thanks for thinking of me everyone, you are all so lovely and thoughtful xoxo
Sorry to keep u all waiting - AF hasnt arrived yet but I think that is only due to IVF cycle and the hormones - I did a test Wed and it was negative. I think im about CD39, after my IUI I think I got up to CD43 with no AF. Ive had headaches too - so yeh not looking good, im afraid.
Sonjalouise ~ GL with your cycle and sorry you havent been well.
Onja ~ Hi, how are you going?
Mitf ~ GL in your next cycle. FX
Tantee ~ that is so exciting! GL in the TWW and He or she will be a fighter!
Coral ~ Hope you can make that announcement soon too. Hope your next cycle comes round quickly for you!
Airline ~ GL with this cycle. FX and
Seph ~ GL in TWW, after what you guys have been through - I really hope they both stick for you. FX
Lise ~ All the best with your cycle - YAY!
Wishes ~ My AF arrived early AFTER EPU too. I usually have long cycles and now it is late - thats what the hormones etc do to our bodies arhh. Hope your FET comes round quick.
Nix ~ I dont have a BT because its only a natural cycle. Hope you are well and doing good.
MWAB ~ Im not too sure about your question sorry but all the best!
Ok so after speaking to FS again over the phone he advised that it would be unlikely that my body would still ovulate on its own on the estrogen tablets, but not impossible.
So that brings me to another question - how do they know when my body would be a post ovulation DAY 5 status and ready for a DAY 5 blastie if i may not even ovulate in the cycle - does it all go on the uterus lining? And because i probably won't ovulate does that mean that my cycle could be prolonged if not pregnant (ie. not as the luteal phase can't be determined)?
Oh man - why do i have to think about this stuff, i should just go with the flow right?
Hi Guys..... I can't believe all the activity on here....I'm not going to attempt personals because i had to read about 5 pages worth and i just couldn't digest it all....For all of you who know me...you know i'm just gonna muck everyone up!!
To all the NEWBIES... i am sure you will find everyone on here full of support, compassion and most of all understanding...GL with your cycles..
To everyone else...GL with your cycles too.. and i will try not to miss checking everyday and get back with where everyone is at with their cycles..
KRIKKIT..... Have a happy and healthy nine months!!
I think there was someone else with BFP but my memory cannot recollect....someone please refresh my memory!
AFM - well, i have started stimming..this is day 6 of stims!! I also had to start my orgalutran last nite...Is There anyone who can shed some light on the following pleeeeese!!
As you know i had to start the orgalutran last night at 10pm..well...i got a huuuuge migraine last nite and all i kept doing was throwing up..i finall fell asleep at 8pm and i asked DH to wake me at 10 for my Orgalutran injection....well he forgot!!!! I woke up to find it was 11.30pm and i quickly gave myself the injection..today i continued with my puregon as normal plus i had to have the orgalutran which i now have twice a day...the problem is... late this afternoon i saw some CM on toilet paper (sorry about the TMI) and i am panicking that because i took my orgalutran 1.5 hrs toooo late yesterday that maybe i have ovulated...it was tooo late to call FS or the nurses and now i have to wait till Monday...can anyone tell me if i have F*****D this cycle up???
Emerald - I had the exact same question on my first cycle - at cd7, and the FS told me "highly unlikely". You can rest over the weekend, you wouldnt have O'd on CD 6 of meds, they are just getting there legs. Enjoy your weekend, and set a little alarm on your mobile, so you don't miss your next dose
wouldloveabubba - THankyou Thankyou thankyou...may god bless you!!! I welcome your great news and i will keep positive thoughts....i kept checking if anyone responded and you have absolutely no idea how much pressure amd anxiety this has lifted for me...thanks again!!!
All the best Emerald - im sure you will be fine. I dont think an hour and a half would do too much. FX for a successful cycle. xo
I will be away for a week next week so not on BB everyone. Im having a much deserved week off work. I havent had even a weekend away since my honeymoon in May 2007 so Im so excited. Im going to the Melb show to help my mum show her cattle - it's so much fun! All the best to everyone - I hope there are some BFP's whilst im away and to read when I get back on here.
Hey Loops - good to see you - I was wondering every time I logged on if you would be there. Glad there is no AF - but sounds like it may not be for wonderful reasons just yet. Well I guess you can't do anything to change whatever is happening inside for now - its just that usual waiting game. Enjoy your holdiay - sounds like fun! Fingers still crossed for you.
Emerald - good to see you back again too. I totally do not understand what you are talking about but glad to see someone was able to give you some comfort. GL with your cycle.
Thanks Nix - I think she's just late because of last cycle but no harm staying positive I suppose. Thanks for all your support.
Look forward to chatting some more on here when I get back. x
This is just a quick question. I am on the pill down reg protocol and stopped the pill on Wednesday. I am a little concerned because I havent had a withdrawal bleed yet. I have been on lucrin injections for about 9 days.
I was told I should have a bleed 1-2 days after stopping the pill. Does anyone know what happens if there is no bleed?
Loops- Glad to hear from you, have a good break.
Mummwannabe- I am sorry I cant really help with your query, but I am interested in the answer to your question.
Emerald- I agree with wouldloveabubba. Because it was your first orgalutran injection I don't think it matters what time you took it. I had to have them on the iui and the only reason I was given a specific time was because they wanted to time when it wore off with the trigger. As long as the timing between the injections is correct then it should be ok. I didnt start the orgalutran until the 11th day of stim injections.
Thanks for your support, hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.
I'm going to try a few persies...but it's busier in here than in the TWW! Let's see how I go:
Lise, I'm at MIVF. I don't visit the nurses very often, as my FS does all my scans in his suites in East Melbourne. So I usually fly in and out before work in the morning. I also get my BT's done at a GP Clinic in my suburb, cause it's easier than going back to MIVF. MY FS is lovely, I really like him, but I've had some variable treatment in the system. Everyone is always lovely and polite, but sometimes the communication in that place leaves a lot to be desired. I've had three occasions when no one called me with my BT results, and then this most recent cycle I had three nurses calling me to find out what protocol I was on - because no one talks to each other. I know they've got a new computer system there though, so I should be kind I suppose. I have met your FS - he did one of my FETs. He's a charmer, totally smooth.
Mummawannabe, I'm afraid I'm not sure how they can tell if your body is ready for a transfer if you haven't ovulated, but I presume that it's all based on your uterus lining and possible the size of the follicle, if there is one. I've got polycystic ovaries (not PCOS, just lots of follicles) and I don't know if that has any affect, but FS has warned that it can trigger false-positive ovulation tests, so he's always keen to check my lining to check that it corresponds to the LH surge test. And I know how you feel about thinking too much! Google probably collects data on what I search for and thinks I'm crazy. My counsellor points out that there is such thing as being too informed, as you tend to find more things to worry about...leave Google alone!
Emerald Star, I was on a different stim protocol than you, but I agree with the other ladies that you're probably fine to have been a bit late with the injection. It just means the ovaries get a bit of stimulation later than usual, it doesn't mean you'll ovulate too soon or ruin the cycle. GL with all the injecting and stimming - grow little follies! Oh, and the 'fertil'e CM you might have seen is also normal - I had a lot of it towards the end of my injections. FS said that what people might refer to as 'fertile' CM is in fact just a sign that the oestrogen is rising in your system, although us TTCers see it as a sign to DTD.
Sonyalouise, I remember having a light period when I stopped the Pill on my stim cycle, although I wasn't on the same protocol as you. I can't remember how many days after I stopped the Pill that it started. I do remember that the Nurses told me that whilst they would expect me to have a bleed, it wasn't always the case - some women just don't. I would ask your Nurses/FS to see what they think, but it's probably nothing to worry about.
Tantee, so glad you got your embie transferred, that really is good news. Stick little one!
Okay, so there's lots of persies that I haven't done, but I wanted to say to everyone stimming at the moment, there seems to lots of you. Well done for keeping sane, and make sure you all take it easy on yourselves - my stim cyle was EXHAUSTING, so make sure you all get your DH's/DP's to pamper you! You deserve that much at least!
And hi to everyone else I've missed, especially the newbies - don't feel too overwhelmed in here, we'd love to hear how you're all going.
I'd better go and find something to distract myself from this stupid TWW. Will be back soon,
Seph
Seph-Thanks for the information, it has helped me relax a bit. I was going to call the nurse today, thats one of the things I love about MIVF, having access to nurses on the weekend, but I have decided I will call tomorrow if nothing has changed.
I know what you mean about googling, I was told to stop also because it is easier to focus on people's negative experiences. On the other hand it is the only way that I feel I have some control over what is going on. Information is power and all that, I bet doctors hate google because they have patients self diagnosing all the time
one more day down, hope the next couple of weeks go quickly for you.
another weekend almost finished and time to start the working week again... I hope everyone had a lovely weekend
sonyalouise, Nix and seph- sounds like we all have a slightly different deal with MIVF. I (maybe naively) thought that charges would be determined per clinic, rather than per FS. Interesting to hear otherwise! And funny to hear your thoughts on FS seph - I think your assessment is totally spot on
sonyalouise - I started on 150 and then FS upped my dosage to 225 after my first scan. As I mentioned, this time i'll start on 300. I'm hoping the higher dosage brings on some results - last time I only had 5 eggs out of EPU. Hope you get some answers soon regarding the pill and bleeding - i'm on an antagonist cycle so not sure about anything to do with any of the other cycles.
mumawannabe - it's hard to find a good balance between keeping well informed and googling too much isn't it? I find also, the more I read the more I worry. I think it's natural though to want to know as much as possible, it's about the only thing we can control during this whole process.
Emerald Star - glad you're feeling a bit better about your injections. I know for mine i'm so anal I set my alarm hours before hand just to make sure I don't forget. And then from about 15 mins before i'm due to inject myself I just stare at the clock counting down the minutes. I think I need a life...!
loops - have a great time away in Melbourne! That's quite some time to go without a holiday, so make sure you make the most of it!!
seph - hope the 2WW is going quickly for you. I haven't had one yet but I imagine i'm going to go a little nuts. Hang in there just a little longer, you're doing well to sound sane, even if you might not feel it!
AFM - i'm just waiting for AF to show up so I can start on Gonal-F again. I was SURE she'd be here by now, but FS did say she might be a bit later than usual after a stim cycle. And it's only day 25, but I usually have a short cycle, and i've had terrible since Thursday last week. I can't tell you how many packets of choc bits i've gone through ...
Loops12 - Thankyou for the confidence....hope your break is lots of fun and stress free.
Looking forward to seeing you back soon.
Nix76 - thankyou too for your comforting words and it feels good to be back, thanx!!.
Sonyalouise - i am on a different protocol to you...sorry i can't help.
Persephone1 - Thanks for your kind words...GL in your 2WW....how long do you have to go before BT?
Lise - sound like you do the antagonist as well....most girls on here do the down reg.
Hope AF shows up real soon...I know what you mean about watching the clock..but i was so sick i couldn'y manage to do anything but throw up... i really thought that DH would be able to handle a simple task such as waking me...guess i was wrong...won't be relying on him anymore...
A big hello to you all and I hope everyone is doing well..
Just a few personals today as I am flat out at work!
lise - I'm not 100% sure about the type of yoga I do, however, here is a description of classes 'All classes include Pranayama (breathing exercises), Asana (physical postures) and Meditation (relaxation techniques).' I do really find that it helps to keep me centred and relaxed . I absolutely love it! It did take me awhile before I really began to get the hang of it (bout 6months although still felt great from the 1st class) and things are starting to click with the postures and that's where you get the most benefit. Would definitely recommended yoga
Fantastic news about being able to start another cycle straight away - yay ! Good Luck
Tantee - I was so happy to read that you were able to do the FET ! That one is defiantly a fighter and lots and lots of to you!
Loops - Thanks Loops.. me 2! I still have my fingers crossed for you. Hope you have a great time at the show and it will be a good chance to distract yourself from all things baby!
AFM - Start Lucrin this Friday - yay - finally feels like I am about to get back on the roller coaster!
