Brunette, you get wheeled in to EPU? I walk in... Lol, last time the anaesthetist left me in a consult room and didn't tell anyone so they couldn't find me!

Daisy, thanks for that, I hadn't considered it. I might see how I go and I'll change it if I have the same problem (which, now you've said it, I suspect I might based on something else that happened).

Loops and Nikki, FX for those surprise natural BFP's! I'm still hoping for my 11th hour miracle too!

    Hi Ladies,

I had my first scan this morning to check the progress of the little eggs. Was left with a bit of a dissapointing result, only 5 eggs currently growing. The previous cycles i had 12 & 14. But as hubby said, it only takes one! They've kept my level of puregon the same (175) so next scan will be this Friday.

I notice some talk about 'clotting factors'. One of the routine blood tests I had from my first appt with my FS discovered I had 'Factor V Laiden'. This is a clotting disorder that makes you more prone to developing blood clots. I've never had a clot & have no family history so it wasn't an impact at all on my previous pregnancy. All I'm required to do is to wear the sexy pressure stockings after any surgery and take 'Claxine' injections for a week after. I've never been advised to take asprin or anything else.

    good luck everyone!!

    Good Morning Ladies,

terry, sonyalouise, Leabie and Loops - Thank you so much for your well wishes . You ladies have been fantasitc and I don't think I could have gotten through this TTC journey without you all . I'm 'ing that you will all be joining me soon on Emerald Star's Wall of Fame!

sonyaluoise - I haven't really joined another forum yet.... I did post twice in the Belly Buddies Due 1-15 July 2010 but haven't really continued posting. There is a Pregnancy after LTTTC thread which I think airline and a few of the other girls are in. I found it a little daunting as there are heaps of other ladies in there who are well along in their pregnancies.... They all do seem lovely though so maybe worth you checking out that thread .

to all the ladies TTC and sending you all lots and lots of !

Juniper, I have always been wheeled in to EPU. I just assumed everyone did? They give me a general for the EPU but nothing for the ET, which I am still wheeled in a wheelchair!

Do others get a general for their pick-up and also get to walk in? I don't know, maybe I need to be wheeled in as I might do a runner...

I'm scheduled for 1.45 tomorrow for pick-up. Had to do the dreaded trigger injection last night. My partner cut his finger on those wicked glass vials! So we were up at 1.45 am last night - dog tired from working late, too - and instead of it being me trying to do the injection we were worried about his bleeding finger! D'oh!

Littlemissmoo, I know how you feel about a small number of egss. I have never got more than 11. This time FS thinks it's 8. I remember waking up in recovery last time and hearing the nurses talk about the lady who shared the room with me prior to pick-up and she had 31 eggs! I was so jealous. for your pick-up.

Hope all you lovely ladies are having a good week!

Littlemissmoo - your DH is right, it only takes one! Try not to stress too much, I've learnt from experience that stress makes eggies not grow

Brunette - imagine how uncomfortable that lady would've been, carrying around 31 eggs! How did she even sit down?!

I have a TMI question for anyone who uses Pregnyl... do you ever get itchy nipples?! I've been getting pins-and-needles ouchy itchy, and then I have to scratch, and OWWW! How embarrassing... especially when I get caught doing it...

    Hi ladies

I came in a little while ago and introduced myself but haven't been back in since. I have been waiting for AF to start an OI cycle of FSH injections, but didn't respond to the provera (what the?) so am not on OCP for 21days. Was due to start FSH (if CD2 bt was all good) in about a week and a half, but DH had a second SA done yesterday (first one was just generic GP one) and it came back with sperm antibodies. So if its confirmed in another test, then it will be straight to IVF (probably ICSI). I haven't spoken with FS yet, have to call on Monday morning. The nurse told DH today that they won't be bothering with the OI and I imagine that there won't be time to do an IVF cycle before Christmas, so I'm not sure where we are at right now.

I hope you are all well and I hope to get to know you so I can do some personals soon. Good luck to everyone, wherever you are in your cycles.

Leabie - I know, the lady with 31 eggs must have been very uncomfortable. She was as skinny as a whippet, too - though I suppose that doesn't matter, as an ovary is an ovary, hey? Sorry, never been on Pregnyl.

AFM,I'm in today for pick-up. Starting to stress. I hate going under anaesthetic. Please, please, please let the eggs be of good quality and my partner have super-sperm

Leabie, I definitely remember that particular symptom (hard to forget, right?), but I can't for the life of me remember when I had it!! Sorry. It's been a while since I had any Pregnyl so I think it may have been when I was pg? Either way it was definitely a hcg or progesterone related thing.

    Cool Im Back!!!!!

    Afternoon Ladies,

Well DH and I are back after our week long holiday in Fiji. Was absolutely fantastic and oh so relaxing am missing being by the pool today. Although, whilst we were away, it seems that the weather was hotter here in Sydney lol.

Big Welcome to to newbies. Is hard catching up after a week away.

So, an update for you all. Well had our first BT last tues 17/11 which when they rang they told me that it showed some levels of hcg but not enough to make it official (was 27) they also said that FS was happy with that result. So after last Tues, as expected, was asked to come back when we returned from holidays for a repeat BT which was yesterday. So went in bright and early this morning. Just had the call and they have told me that I need to go in again on Monday to make sure my levels are doubling appropriately. Today my level was at 537. The nurse commented that all levels were going nicely but when I asked when would we know "officially" because family are asking about the results, she said we have to wait till Monday!!!!! So frustrating in a way.

Oh also, I couldnt help myself whilst we were away so I snuck into my luggage some HPT's. The Nurse last Tues told me that I was due for AF last Thursday so whilst we were away we did 2 POAS. One last Fri which was positive but faint and then another on Tues just gone which was positive again but darker and came up quicker. To be honest, I also did another yesterday morning which again came up strong and fast.

So were still kind of waiting. We have agreed together that we dont want to say anything to family yet until IVF sign off on it "officially". FX still and plenty of too.

Hi wonderful, strong, perfect women It's been a while as we've been having a break. Looking at getting back into the swing ofthings in Feb or Mar next year but came to have a bit of a rant, if you don't mind? I guess it's a bit late if you do, 'coz here it is anyway!

So, guess what happy letter was awaiting my return from work this afternoon? Oh yes, not only am I "Not Normal" because pregnancy hasn't just Happened, today my IVF clinic sent me all the forms for getting police record check because I'm not Normal and need assistance conceiving. PHOOEY. This requirement had firmly slipped my mind while we weren't actively seeking ART, but now that we have a solid reminder in the million-page forms on the bench, it just reminds me how RIDICULOUSLY UNFAIR AND STUPID the Victorian Government is. Because as I'm sure all you other wonderful women on the ART rollercoaster know, the amount of bollocking bollocks we already have to go through to get pregnant means that we really DON'T want our children and are going to go out of our way to abuse them when they arrive.

    le sigh

And it was going to be such a NICE afternoon, after all, it's Friday

Good luck to all waiting for results. I have been lurking but it's kinda hard when we not actively doing anything atm.

    Hi Ladies,

    thanks for the welcome!

Can I have a bit of a rant?
My DH and I have different health insurance - from when we were single. We looked into combining them, but we realised that we would be worse off (he had better coverage for his needs, and I for mine, and there was no benefit in changing for either of us). We did check that each would cover any potential future needs, and were told that we wouldn't need to combine until such time as we had a baby.

Well, today DH gets a letter from his insurer advising that pregnancy, birth related and assisted reproductive are NOT covered under his insurance - GRRR!
My insurance covers my side of things, but his won't be covered.

And because we've already seen the FS for our first appt, it is now considered "pre-existing" GRRR (though we haven't had the results of his semen analysis yet, and I don't start clomid till next cycle).

Any ideas on what the "male" costs of IVF are? I am guessing that most of the expense is against the female partner, but I am sure some - but how much - is DH as the patient???

Oh, and no public clinic near us, so all private and obviously DH is at full cost.

    thanks heaps ladies.

    Hi all,
Please remember that guidelines prohibit "double-posting" across different LT TTC chatter threads - it makes them too long. We will start to delete these double posts if we come across them in the future.
Feel free to PM me, or the other mods if you wish to discuss this,
Thanks and best wishes to everyone,
    Jo

    Evening Ladies,

My favourite nurse called this afternoon to advise that my EPU will in fact be Tuesday! I'm continue to take the drugs as per normal for Sat & Sun & will trigger Sunday night at 09:30pm. I've got a cold at the moment so they've taken me off synarel & have my on some other drug that i've got to inject but it's only for a couple of days. One poor section of my belly is going a nice shade of yellow!!

Milly5: We go private as well & as far as male costs go, they don't charge for screening blood tests & it's only the seaman analysis that we had to pay for. This was about $375 but then we could take it to medicare & get some of it back. (sorry can't remember how much we did get back)

Emeraldstar - Good luck for Monday hope things go well for you

    Have a lovely weekend

Littlemissmoo ~ Goodluck with the EPU on Tuesday and FX that there are lots of nice eggs! As for the bruised stomach - I used to alternate my injections on each side of my stomach so atleast the bruising was even on both sides :-) Hope you feel better soon.

milly5 ~ My DH and I just completed round 1 of IVF and there were not any costs associated for my DH. The procedure for preparing his sperm was covered by the overall fertility cost. I guess it all depends what procedures your partner gets done.

Emeraldstar ~Goodluck with the EPU on Monday!Hope you end up with lots of nice eggs! Good to see so many BFP in the month of November and there are a few ladies awaiting results for Decemeber. your name appears in Dec too!

motherhoodhereIcome~your POAS results sound really positive! Congratulations! Keep us posted when you complete your BT!

meo ~ hi and like you I also had mail sent by my fertility clinic containing the forms to complete a police check arrive yesterday. I still don't understand why we have to do this? I think it's absolutely ridiculous. Don't we already have enough to worry about with not being able to conceive naturally and then to have to go through this check. I share the same sentiments as you. Unfortunately without it we can't proceed with another cycle.

Hello to everyone else I might have missed, Juniper, Loops12, brunette, daisy, Coral73, mellybelly!
