So nervous! Have been putting off making an appt for a second opinion for ages, but finally called this morning. I was told there is a 6 month wait for the FS I want to see, but was lucky and got a cancellation appt TODAY!! I really don't know if this is the right step or not, so really, really nervous! I was told the appt may be as long as 2 hours (to see both FS and nurse and do any b/w) and right at DD's naptime, so thankfully MIL is available to babysit at short notice! I can't even get in to see my GP for the referral until after the appt, but I've been told that's okay as long as it's the same day. I've had butterflies in my stomach ever since I got off the phone!

    Angry

First appointment this Friday with the Dandenong Fertility Clinic. Getting really nervous and excited all at the same time.

Still waiting on feedback from our local GP RE Vasectomy reversal possibility - starting to get really peeved there. We were told to call last Thursday to get feedback about it....Called on Friday and was told the doctor was not in and they would get feedback from him on saturday as he hadn't left any notes for them. On Saturday get a call to say advise the doctor forgot and will get onto it first thing Monday morning. The nurse I spoke with on Saturday promised she would hound and hound the doctor till he gave her a response on Monday and then call us. No call. Call today and get advised he's been busy and it STILL hasn't been done!!!

It's not just the Vasectomy Reversal thing here. We're also trying to get my husband some prescription medication, which they can't get without PBS approval....The doctor is supposed to be calling and getting this also so my husband can get the required script to start the medication

ladies I just want to ask some opinions......
I called my clinic yesterday to tell the nurse that I had one day of very light AF and then nothing.... she told me to do a pregnancy test and if it was negative (which it was) to start the pill as directed and we will continue with the cycle as planned..... I again told her I hadnt really had a period and she said it was ok...... does this sound right?
Im already on edge about my first IVF cycle and I dont want to waste $10k if it isnt going to work because I havent had a period.
If it doesnt sound right, what should I do?

It should be fine Ceejelz. You will get a "period" (bleeding) when you stop the pill in three weeks anyway.

    Good luck!

Eta - it must be the month for it. My period lasted for a day and a half

    Hi Everyone!

Beau- I'm so sorry hun, it just isn't fair I hope that conceiving doesn;t take as long this time and that it's a sticky one. I am in the same boat and am just doing my first cycle after my loss at 12 weeks in Octyober. My 1st cycle was 7 weeks (after 2nd d&c- I had to have 2 becasue of retained products and an infection) and then my clinic made me wait one full cycle AFTER that first period. It feels like forever and I was so desperate to get started, but I can honestly say that emotionally I feel much stronger and am in a much better place than I was when I thought I was ready to go again. I am sending you lots of hugs, it's a hard thing to go through- be kind to yourself.

Juniper- thanks for adding me to the list and yay for concellations! Meant to be!

MelB- hope you get yout anserws from the GP soon- are you still planning to go to your IVF appt if the reversal is an option?

Nic- good luck with the weight loss

Myturn and me4ever- good luck chicks!

AFM- I am SO sorry for lack of persies and not being on more- sometimes I just need to leave BB alone as it's better for my headspace and this has been one of those cycles. I feel so selfish but I think of everyone every day and am wishing you all the best even when I don't post. I have had a good cycle so far, trigger tonight which is really quick for me! So pleased and I have 1 big fat follie ready to pop which I can feel when I move. I am feeling quite emotionally strong (for a change), although have of course convinced myself that this one will work and have to keep gic=ving myself a reality check, but I just have a good feeling this cycle. So I'll be ov on thursday and heading into the 2ww to go crazy! Bring on the BFP's for everyone.

Whilst, I'm not quite in the same league as the rest of you (a 1-1.5 day AF! ), mine has been lighter than normal this cycle too!

Faye, I had that happen last cycle - some light bleeding one night, then nothing for 24 hours and then AF started late the next night.

Soooo.... It's a good thing AF has been lighter this cycle since he went ahead and did a pap smear, pelvic exam and u/s (AFC was 4). I know it's routine, but ewwww...

Also had a heap of b/w done, as did DH (who was "lucky" enough to finish work in time to walk up the hill and join me for the b/t!! ).

We're jumping straight into an injects+IUI cycle, starting the FSH tomorrow. If DH's testing comes back with good results, we'll switch to injects+TI next time. I don't feel ready for IVF yet... He gave us a 6-7% chance with the IUI (and similar for TI if DH's boys are all good), so he's willing to trigger with as many as 4 follicles. He said the risk of twins would be less than 0.5% and even lower for higher order multiples. I'm still a little freaked out by the idea of 4 (even knowing that the odds of having 1 viable one is so low), but we'll see what we have when it's time to trigger and how I feel about it. He has also added clexane and prednisone to the protocol (and recommended DHEA and melatonin, along with a truckload of other supplements).

Today has been such a whirlwind. It all feels so unreal... I was at the clinic for 2.5 hours and then another hour at the GP (to get the referral, which I couldn't get an appt to get before the FS appt), so we got home at 7pm (and, with everything buzzing about my head, forgot we had to pick up DH's car from the train station, so MIL had to drive him there on her way home after she babysat DD all afternoon for me).

Oh, and today is day 5 without sugar* for me! I'm down 2kg but that could just be due to random fluctuations... (*except for some alcohol)

I'm so confused, I stopped the pill on Sunday, had bleeding yesterday morning then it stopped all day, started again last night - stopped again, then again this morning and once again it's stopped. I even called FS this morning to say today was CD1 so i'm all set to start Gonal F on Friday but now i'm wondering whether I should ring them and say AF hasn't come. This is doing my head in!

Wow Juniper - what a story! So happy you're able to start straight away! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Faye - give your clinic a call again and let them know... They might still want you to do a blood test to see if levels are base line. One time I wasn't sure if day 1 had come yet as I just kept spotting, did a blood test and all was base line, so I could start doing the next cycle.

Lyra - Nice to see you're ready to start again! Fingers crossed it won't be long before your BFP!

AFM - Tomorrow is transfer, am getting pretty nervous. Just checked with the clinic and getting the same Dr that did it last time, when I had a chem. pregnancy... I hope we have more luck this time. 3rd time lucky I hope. Tomorrow it's also exactly 2 months since we got married and 8 months since our missed m/c. Oh well, another 2 weeks and we'll know! xx

Faye, I'd call them and ask what they want you to do. FX you're still right to start on Friday.

me4ever, hoping all goes well tomorrow.

Afm, called for b/w results and I'm clear to start gonal-f tonight. I won't be able to get the compounded meds (DHEA and melatonin) until tomorrow, but can get the prednisone and clexane this afternoon (which means I'll be starting prednisone a day late since I was meant to start this morning). I've spent most of the morning on the phone to compounding pharmacies. Funnily enough, the one my FS' office recommended as "cheap" was the dearest! The one across the road from my work was cheapest ($8 to $34 less than the others) but I'll have to make a special trip since I only work in the office on Mondays (but convenient for the repeats).

Thanks ladies, I just spoke with them and explained what was going on and she said to keep going as planned so start gonal f Friday. She said if it keeps stopping and starting we won't know where we're at and it could just be that i've bled so much whilst on the pill that there's no lining left so I might not have a normal bleed. She seemed happy that it wouldn't muck anything up. Phew...
