Girls I'm on the epipen. I dont' really have any issue with it. Sometimes you feel a little '*****' but that's as bad as it gets. Maybe just make sure you pinching a good amount of skin around the belly button......sorry i can't be of any more help! It might be because i'm a little 'chubby' so there's a little more padding!!!!!

    Thanks Baby2Bee.

I just received a call from my FS. Apparently the synarel hasn't worked!!!! They want me to come in for an ultrasound tomorrow morning to rule out any cysts (which I'm sure I don't have as I just had an ultrasound two weeks ago and it was all clear and I don't have any history of cysts). They think they may have to try lucarin instead. I feel so bummed out as I was just given my pugeron drugs this morning and was so psyched to be at that stage of my cycle. I know it's not the worst thing that could happen. I'm just so impatient!!!!

    hi ladies

tania thanks for the info. hope everything went ok.

Loops- thinking of you at this time.

afm- went to Fs who spec in endo. When he removes he end he said i will go from 1-2% chance of concieving to 15-20% of concieving. I dont think this is a very good % increase, i am very upset by it. Is this good odds? what do you all think? I feel i have no hope at all.

Everyone else good luck with everything

Well hi all, feeling a little , I dont know blah after meeting new FS today. He was very concerned about my weight and has put me on a lets say diet. Carbs til lunch time then none after lunch and an hour of walking after finishing eating for the day, no sugar whatsoever. He has put me on a drug called reductil which cost over $200. He also talked about metabolic syndromes and metaformin and that I am going to die young and We have to have another month of because of the rubella needle and to top it all off we have sperm issues too. We always had them just the other clinic didn't pick up on them so the 4 cycles of OI were a waste of time. Sorry for the vent I am feeling a little overwhelmed and very teary at the moment. Sometimes I wonder if it is all worth it. Sorry in a very down place at the moment, will come back when I feel a little better.

it's all worth it in the end saph. I too am overweight however my fs is yet to mention it yet!!! I'm waiting for it though!!! I think of it this way. I'm overweight now, imagine how big and uncomfortable I'll be pregnant and carrying around all that extra weight! It would be nicer to shed a few kilo's before the strain on your body. Keep your chin up. Feel free to chat to me anytime about weight venting etc!

Toby - thanks for your thoughts. I don't think 15%-20% is too bad because they say with IUI you only have about a 30% chance still so all the odds are pretty low for conceiving anyway I feel. Its a pretty big jump from 2% to 20% so I wouldnt be too concerned. You'll get there.

Saph - sorry to hear about your troubles with your specialist etc. At least I suppose you know about the sperm troubles now so you can work on those and you have some other things you can try that will probably boost your chances of conceiving. Thinking of you.

    Hi Toby,

A healthy woman would only have a 20% chance of successful natural conception, so I would say your chances are good.

Good luck everyone with your cycles.

    Hey All,

Toby, you will find that assisted conception methods will give you higher success rates but as Kahlan said, 20% is normal for a fertile couple. Sometimes it's hard to focus on anything else but the statistic and I know 20% does not sound too encouraging but when you compare it to 1-2% it is a HUGE difference. Stay positive hun!!!

AFM, received a bit of a blow this morning at the FC. They did an ultrasound and while they were able to confirm there were no cysts they again confirmed that the synarel hasn't done a thing (not sure why AF hasnt come in all her glory then and I've had zero premenstrual symptoms!!?!) they think there's a big possibility this cycle will have to be cancelled altogether. They did some more bloods and will call me this afternoon for the 'where to from here' but were under the impression this morning that they'd have to cancle this cycle, allow all my levels to normalise again post ovulation and get me on lucarin from CD22. I bawled for about an hr after realising the possibility of my cycle being cancelled before even starting but I guess this is the best of the worst case scenarios right? Did anyone else feel like they were a big pin cushion/guinea pig when going into assisted conception?

Toby- Chin up that is a really good thing it brings you up to almost normal
AFM: Well yesterday was the big day we went off to the specialist in melb after battling traffic and smog blegh we got to our app nervous but hopefull only to have a shattering day. Firstly he sat there and said that we should be there cause apart from low sperm count we should be able to get preg we were like we'll we wouldn't be here if we didn't have to and then he said he wanted to wait and get surgery for DH which probably won't do anything anyway and then he sat there wanted to push for full blown IVF and I mean full blown as in ijecting the sperm into the egg did not want to even discuss IUI even if the sperm count came back normal before we knew it we had had blood taken had our arms full of ivf info and had three apps made to start the ball rolling... I cried most of the way home had a few arguments as to what to do and we decided we wanted a secnd opinion as our doc said we shouldn't have to do any more than IUI so I made an app this morning as soon as I could and she has given me a ref to Mac (Dr Mac Talbot)in sale which was who we origionally wanted and she has specified that we want minimal intervention (meaning IUI) Mac from what I have heard ius fantastic from peopel who have been to him so have high hopes again but was so dissapointed after yesterday.
phew well that's been our update
    how is everyone else doing?
Saph as you can read from above frustration with FS I understand and if you can and are not happy with your current FS change

    Good afternoon girls,

Thank you for all your well wishes. Its greatly appreciated.
Yesterday went better than expected. They collected 4 eggs! I only expected 2 maybe 3 at best but another follicle must have grown too. Ive just had a call from the clinic and my ET is booked in for 11.40am tomorrow morning. If anything happens in the meantime, I will get a call from my dr. My FS said to transfer 2 embies this time. If I get 2 then I will, but at this stage, I'll be happy if 1 makes it. Im trying not to think too much about it but its hard not too. Im close to the finish line and am I get there.

Twomums - Kim good luck with your jabbing. I cant offer any advice on giving the injections. I found that my right side was less sensitive than the left!

Loops - Anniversaries/birthdays of loved ones who have passed is always hard. I hope your doing better today. Good luck for Monday, fingers crossed.

JBM - hope all is on track for your FET next week.

Aleenta - Hope your embies are snuggling in nicely Hope to see you in TWW soon.

Trueblue - sorry to hear yesterday didnt go well. Its all so overwhelming. Hopefully you will get a better result with Dr.Talbot, good luck.

Toby - My FS gave me the same odds after my op and like Kahlan said, a "normal" couple only have the same success rate when trying to conceive naturally so those chances are a plus. Stay positive

Jaxi - sorry to hear that your cycle may be cancelled but hopefully if you can get your body back to normal, things will be better next cycle. Its very disappointing to cancel a cycle but you need to focus on the next one & stay positive. I feel like a pin cushion and am SO OVER having to show my "privates" to so many people (sorry, TMI)

Saph - no need to apologies for venting. Thats what we are here for. I cant imagine how that would have felt being told that by your FS. I too am overweight and would have LOVED to have shed some weight before falling pg but with all the meds etc have found it very difficult. Plus didnt want to put my body under additional stress if that makes sense. Take care of yourself and am here for you.

Hi to Sara, Baby2bee, Smithy, Babydreamtime, Dutchie and everyone else.

    Take care,

    Tania

    Hi Saph

I also know how you must be feeling, we have sperm issues too and I am overweight with tendancies towards Poly Cyctic. We only had 20% chance of conceiving in the first 2 years and that was on the sperm analysis alone. with my problems i have no idea what the chances would have been. Not good tho. Its so easy to get let down and feel like giving up bit im convinced all this "pain" will be worth it one day. Its just so hard not having any control over anything. At least you have control over the weight issues, easy to say but i know as well as anyone how hard losing weight is too.
    Hope you feel better soon.

    Hi girls,

Rob: really sorry to hear that, hopefully your FS appointment will show you a way forward.

Jaxi: did you do a downregulated cycle? I had a similar experience with my first cycle which was down regulated, the second cycle was an antagonist and had a much better result.

Mr Magpie: four eggs that's an excellent result, well done! Will keep fingers crossed, goodluck for ET tomorrow.

Toby: I agree with everything the other ladies said, stay positive, you have a very good chance for a good result.

Saph: Sorry you had a bad experience. Sounds like your FS has a lot to learn in terms of bedside manner.

    JBM & Aleenta

    A great weekend for everyone.

Thank you ladies for the positive comments and support!

Gee a lot of us in here are not having a great time with it all are we? We must stay positive. I believe we ALL will get there its just some hurdles in the way at the moment. Thinking positive thourghts for all who are going thru a rough patch at the moment.

Miss Magpie - hope it went well for you this morning.

Trueblue - I see Dr T. He is very positive in his outlook - which helps me come to terms with it all. I hope you feel comfortable with him.
