Hello to everyone else I have missed and hope everything is going well.

AFM, am having an ultrasound tomorrow and if all is going to plan, start jabbing with Gonal on Thursday night. Not looking forward to it. Its all so timed and I have to plan things around it. Luckily, my DP and I are going away for the long weekend so looking forward to some US time.

Hi had to go back to my FS yesterday (this was after I called them and asked the nurse about my ultrasound results, NO ONE called me!!!) and mentioned to the nurse over the phone that the sonographer said I will need Lap surgery to remove the 4 fibroids in my uterus one of which is around my cervix. She said I need to come in ASAP and get on the list for Lap surgery the wait is up to 2 months!! grrr...

SO .. I manage to squeeze an appointment out of them at 12.30.. see the FS.. who books me in for my lap surgery, cause all his nursing staff are busy reviewing results. I was told someone would call me.. sooo.. I have been waiting all yesterday arvo.. no phone call..

I call this morning I called, and was advised the person who books everything is in theartre and will call me back she should have called me yesterday (according to the receptionist) its now 1pm.. still no phone call... how long do I wait?? should I call again?

I am slightly peeved... they seem to know what they are doing, very well - so much so that they have a great routine in their office.. but anything that doesn't fit into that routine is left to the way-side...

When I handed my ultrasound results over to the reception (which I was told to do) they seem to have filed it and no one looked at it.. no nurse or FS... IF I DIDN'T call yesterday and question them, I would have gone through my assessment period (for 2 weeks) wasting a whole bunch of time when I really needed Lap surgery asap!! and should have been put on the list..

Kristy I am so sorry you are having problems, I have only had one incidence when the clinic didn't ring and otherwise they have been fantastic. Take charge and call if you need too, with all of this you need to feel in control as we have no control of the outcomes.

By the way I see you are in Perth as am I. What clinic are you at? I am at Hollywood, really nice clinic but for me it is a good 45min drive away and there is a clinic five minutes around the corner so depending on what happens this cycle my change.

Hi Saph, yes I am in Perth - I am going to Pivet.

Don't get me wrong, they seem to know what they are doing - they are just a little lax in the urgency and call back. ( I want a baby now, not in 5 months) :wall:

She finally called me back and said she hadn't seen my file yet, but I am still looking at a 2-3 month wait (via their own surgery even & going through Kaleeyah on the public system its the same wait) She will call me back and let me know when they can fit me in.

What amazes me is that I said I have top hospital cover and paying for this is not an issue (we are very lucky in that department) - Then the attitude changed a bit to oh, ok.. well.. we will see what we can do.

I am now waiting on the second call back - I think they are so busy in there that new cases sorta get left to the side sometimes.. which is ok... I know that I can number one all the time! lol...

I am of for another scan and blood test in the morning. I feel ok, but not really holding out much hope for tomorrow or this cycle. i will keep you updated.

TLO - so sorry to hear about the gall stones and that it has meant you had to cancel this cycle - every set back is hard to deal with, i feel your pain

Saph - i now what you mean about the pessaries. The evening one is never a problem but the mornig one is hard because you have to lay down for a while. i used to set the alarm and make DH get up and go and get it for me - bless him!!!!

To everyone else - hope all is well and that your upcoming cycles go smoothly

AFM - well i am so confused. My BT results were inconclusive as most of the hormones were baseline but the LH was 18 so i have to wait a few more days and see if i get a proper bleed. If not I will have to take Provera for 10 days then wait some more and see what happens. I am so disappointed as i had hoped to be on the progynova by now. I just hate it when you get a set back like this. Mind you i feel as though AF is coming as I am cranky as hell and almost everything is making me cry and i feel extremely irritable. To make matters worse, a good friend gave birth today and i know how bad this sounds but i could not bring myself to go to the hospital tonight. I am officially the worst friend in the world!!! I will try to go tomorrow. My heart just aches that its not me. When do i get to hold a baby that i don't have to give back....................

Mollygirl - sorry to hear AF not doing her thing and you are being made to wait. Sometimes I think the hardest thing about this whole process is the waiting and waiting, it's worse than the jabbing or any of the procedures because it feels like you have no control. Be kind to yourself and don't feel bad for not visiting your friend...I am sure she probably hasn't even noticed with everything she would be dealing with right now

AFM - I have some good news after what seems like forever (well last ET was August due to setbacks!!) I had a scan and BT today and I am on track for FET this Saturday. My new protocol of low dose of Gonal F has done the trick and my lining is looking good, I had a shot of Ovidrel tonight and I will have another one is a week to support the luteal phase. The change in my mood today has been unbelievable. It's quite funny in a weird way that my body seems to prefer being jabbed rather than tablets LOL!! I am trying to send positive vibes to my embies to be strong and survive the thaw - we are hoping to transfer 2...

Stay strong everyone and here's hoping a few of us migrate to 2WW very soon x :pray:

Just popping in to say hi. Still busy unpacking and gettting the house in to some sort of organised state... How do we manage to accumulate so much stuff!!!!

Still waiting to hear about the job. I agency has advised that they have been delayed with getting final numbers, but hopefully will know something this week.

Although it is a good thing we are int he process of doing this move to keep my mind occupied... I found out a couple of days ago that a friend of mine had a miscarriage over Xmas (she already has 3 kids, the youngest 10 months) and another is complaining on her facebook page about M/S (didn't even know she was pg and this is her second) and then a 3rd friend is also 12 weeks (with her 2nd).

It is really hard to 1. try to give sympathy to my friend who miscarried, seeing I went through the same in early Dec and to feel happy for our 2 other friends who are pg again.

We also think that another of our friends is pg as well as she sent me a message saying "She has some news", but wants to tell us in person...

I am so hoping this time works, but have decided to not tell anyone about this FET due to all the expectation on us from the previous transfers.

WLAB - 16 eggies is fantastic. Hope you get some good fertilsation numbers and your transfer next week. We will definately be TWW buddies....

KellyD - I think keeping the transfer quiet is a good thing. The hardest part other than an unsuccessful cycle is having to tell everyone about it when your trying to come to terms with it yourself. Im sure its hard to give support to other friends too. You have to do whats right for you unfortunately however selfish that may seem. Hope you get the job too! :D

Aleenta - how exciting, a transfer this Saturday! Best of luck and hope this is the one for you. Lots of :bluedust:

Mollygirl - your not the worst friend in the world. ive been in similar situations and felt awful but in the end, I thought it would be worse to go see someone and congratulate them only for the next minute to burst into tears. Its a very HARD situation to be in. It wasnt until I started the IVF journey that I realised how hard it was facing people with kids and babies and getting that aching, longing feeling. Im sure that your friend will understand under the circumstances. I hope AF arrives properly for you soon. Hang in there.

Kritkat - Sorry to hear about all the dramas you are having with your clinic. I was in a similar boat waiting to have my lap done. It wasnt until I was admitted into hospital for a week to control my pain, that they put a hurry on for my surgery and scheduled it for a month later. Take control and keep on their backs! Good luck. :D

AFM, had my scan this morning and Im all good to start jabbing tomorrow! My next scan is scheduled for the 29th so am HOPING to trigger that night with EPU on the 31st. Otherwise, will have to trigger on the 31st with EPU on the 2nd as they dont do EPU on a Sunday.

I have read all the posts and I am thinking of you all, and thanks for thinking of me, but please forgive me for not having the energy today for doing personals.

My IVF cycle was cancelled as only one mature follicle today and low E2 levels, but they have converted it to an IUI - so trigger tonight and IUI Friday morning. I feel okay, and better than last time when there was not even this option, but still confused as to why it is happening to me. The nurse this morning told me it is sheer bad luck, but I am terrified that there is just something wrong with me that will prevent a pregnancy form ever happening. I will be asking these questions when I get a chance.

But for now, I hold a little bit of hope for Friday. I am trying to relax and deep breathe etc.

Oh Neptune :hug: - I am sorry your cycle was cancelled, I cannot offer much advice on the medical side of things, but I can offer you hope with IUI, it has worked for lots of ladies, and it can work for you. I am pleased for you, that you have an IUI on Friday, it gives you hope, which is very important during our journey.

It will happen for you, you never know how the IUI will go, so keep hoping and don't loose faith.

Thank you for asking after me. Our clinic doesn't ring with results, we get them at tommorows embryo transfer. I am remarkably calm, at this stage...

Hi to all, my name is Lou.
I am new to Belly Belly and have started IUI this month for the first time. My DH and I have been TTC for nearly 3yrs.
DH has low count and low mobility. I think at this stage I am ok after having several tests incl. Laparoscopy which showed up nothing.
Started with the needles and have the IUI on Friday. Hoping for the best and to not go through anymore disappointment.
I feel for everyone TTC and know your pain. It has been good to read your stories - both positive and disappointing ones and to know that we are not alone. So thank you.
I wish everyone success in conceiving in 2009 - :goodluck: and :pray:

Did you get the job?

AFM - mixed feelings about can this morning. Follies are doing as they should. I have a total of about 40 now although most are quite small. Only 4-5 ish between 11-13mm but hoping some more will catch up. My lining, however has barely changed from last scan. now at 4.7mm. Not much more i can do as I am on a whole lot of med to try and help it along and E2 2407 so guess i jut have to pray it gets going soon. Puregon dose being dropped a touch given my high follie number and repeat can on Friday.

just a quick reply as i am supposed to be getting organised for camping, we go on weekend and get back next friday . just sending some positive vibes to all,

WLAB - 16 eggs, wow. I am not sure (new to this IVF) but to me this sounds like an excellant result. Congrats - I hope you are recovering ok and am feeling better. So you are in today for transfer is that correct? Good luck hun and stay remarkably calm. You are so close now....

Krikket - Im sorry you are getting the muck around. Just remember, the squeaky wheel always gets oiled. Dont be afraid to ring them and get on there case - they will soon learn to follow up all your requests if you are constantly reminding them. I agree wholly with saph that you need to take charge to feel some level on control.

Mollygirl - I understand your frustration. I went through the same thing this cycle, planned to start fsh injections on a certain date and tried to fit work/family committments around this. Then the syranel delayed a AF for 6 freaking days!! Man I was so annoyed... Hoping AF arrives soon for you...

Aleenta - good luck with your fet this sat. I hope all goes well between now and then.

MissMagpie - good luck with the jabbing!!

Neptune - Im sorry to hear they have cancelled your cycle. How frustrating. It is good they turned it into an IUi cycle (I hope the clinic refunded your your IVF fee). IUI can be successful and Im sure you know there are many IUI successes hanging around BB. Good luck for the procedure.

Thank you to everyone for your welcome. AFM - I have 1st bloods yesterday after 5 days on injections. They have actually increased my dosage to get my levels up quicker. Quite frankly these hormones are throwing me for 6 and I am finding it hard to focus at work.

Some of you have mentioned feelings when other peoples babies are announced/born. This is a hard one and stirs some incredibly strange feelings for those having trouble with ttc. For me, the best way to handle this is to keep some level of emotional distance, by telling myself this is their life and their choice, and be happy for that. Then I would remind myself what I like about my life now, without children in it, because when the children do (and will) arrive, everything will change. Trying to find a positive on each level has helped me. Alternatively, you can simply imagine all the bad points of parenting (birth, lack of sleep, temper tantrums in shops) and take a sigh of relief that it is not you yet. I hope this does not offend, just some words of advice that have helped me on this journey.

WLAB: Good lick with your trasnsfer today. Hope you got a couple of goodies stashed away nicely and also some in the freezer for later on. See you in the TWW soon.

Aleenta: Thanks for your thoughts. How are you going?? Any idea when transfer day is anticipated??

Neptune: So sorry your EPU was cancelled on you again. At least you still get to try with your eggie anyway. :pray: IUI does the trick for you..

Miss M: Hope everything is growing nicely for you and that EPU is when you hope. We will probably only be a day or 2 apart I reckon. So big Birthdays for us this year..

Meredith: Busy is one word for it... Still no word on the job, but I know as soon as they have an answer I'll get a call. Not too stressed about not hearing at the moment with so much on. I'm hoping like crazy your lining plays nicely, although 40 follicles is heaps so you don't want OHSS as well. At my EPU in July 08, I got 30 eggs and by the morning of the EPU I couldn't even sit down as I was so sore (down there). Lets hope some catch up and you get a nice batch to put in the freezer as well. Hopefully you will be in the TWW the same time as Aleenta & me.

Diamond: The drugs really can knock you about until you get used to them. I think now I'm so used to being on so many combinations of medications that I don't really notice any side effects anymore.

Mollygirl: Hopefully AF shows rears her ugly head soon, so you don't have to delay any further. Re: the new baby... You are not the worst friend in the world just someone who wants a baby. Hopefully when you do hold the baby some positive vibes rub off and brings you some good luck.

Krikket: Hopefully you can get all the stuff up's sorted out and get moving on your journey very soon.

Loops: Welcome to our little group. Hopefully your stay is short and you get you wish.

Smithy: Thanks for dropping in. I'm sure you are on the countdown to your FET in March.

AFM: Not much going on here. House is probably about 75% done. Can't really do anymore now as we need to do some small reno projects before we can finish putting all our furniture away. I have been getting some twinges in my left side for the last couple of days, so am hoping we have at least on good follicle growing away. Scan tomorrow at 9am, so :pray: things are doing what they should be.

KellyD: I know how it can be, everyone around me is having babies, planning babies or pregnant. Sometimes being selfish and avoiding "them" can be the only way to save your sanity. :hug:

Loops12: Hi! & Welcome. Goodluck friday with your IUI.

AFM: Well.. I got a phone yesterday at 4pm. I cant have surgery till the 11th of MAY!!!

The story goes.. I have a large surgery ahead, seems like there is no chance of me having this as day surgery. They have 4hr procedure time allocated at the hospital everyday. My surgery will take 2-3 hours. "Normal" Laparascopic Myomectomies take about 45min.

SO the only time they can fit me in is May, cause I will take the whole time allocated. :doh:

On a good note, I can still continue with the assessment cycle, and they can still treat me with whilst I wait.

Hubby has done his sperm check and ultrasound today - ultrasound was ok, only showed a grade 2 varicocele (they only operate at grade 4). Sperm check will come back this arvo.

Kritkat - OMG, May. That seems SO far away. What a bugger. My surgery took 5 hrs and I had 3 different doctors who had to do different things so was difficult to co-ordinate so I was in a similar situation. Hopefully the time will pass quickly.

KellyD - glad your house is coming along. Good luck with your scan tomorrow. Am thinking of you. I start jabbing tonight so we should be in the TWW together.

WLAB - great news that 2 are safely back in their "natural" home. Lets hope they will stay there for the long haul. Sorry no frosties. I found that really devastating when i started with such large numbers ( 14 embryos) last cycle.

A question from me : how does your clinic let you know about how your eggs fertilised or did not fertilise? Mivf tell you just just before you are about to have transfer, my FS tells you how many cell my transfering embies are, and quote for example that they are "average" etc..

Then that's it !! Your transfer is done, so it is a lot to absorbe, I found it a bitter sweet appointment, knowing none had made it to freezing, but we had two embies to transfer

Hi Meredith,
we have decided against TTC in the meantime, I think hubbies sperm are not up to it and fibroids can cause miscarriage, I would 't be so cautious if they were only small fibroids, but I have one that is 9cm and one that is located around my cervix - at the risk they both may cause, its not worth it. I don't want to risk cancellation of my operation because I miscarry. They are also investigating my cycle being 24 days - doesn't give my little eggies enough time to stick.

Totally not happy about the length of time, but apparently there are plenty of women in my position - I can't ignore the fact that someone else is going through this and has probably been waiting alot longer that I have. I have to thank my lucky stars that we have top private health cover cause the waiting list for public is over 6 months.

WLAB - How are you doing? Hope your embies are snuggling in. In my 1st cycle the scientist phoned every day with an update on hoe the embies were doing. How many cells, good or average, that kind of thing. Then back on day 5 to have one transferred back in.

AFM: Well, my converted cycle - IUI - went okay this morning. I will be resting up today and trying to stay cool. I just feel excited to be in the 2WW at last! Start the pregnyl on Monday so ready for my boobs to swell and to *feel* preggers! I won't be too fooled though (like last time!) Cruel stuff.

Neptune: Yay that you now have some swimmers all ready to meet up your little eggie. See you in the TWW shortly.

AFM: Scan today (day 10) showed 1 lead follicle at 14 and the lining at 6. So start surge testing from tomorrow until Wednesday to see if O is due. If nothing by Wednesday then back to the clinic for a trigger shot. I was asked in I wanted to use 2 of our day 3 or day 5's this time. I've chosen the day 3's again and will leave our day 5's as a last resort.

So I would estimate that my ET will occur anytime between Tuesday 27 - Monday 2nd (depending on when I ovulate). At least it is getting closer and I actually have a follicle growing.... I was dreading I wouldn't have any big enough.

Oh, I just had a phone call and am down to the final stage in the job interview process, reference checks, police checks being done and a Medical next Tuesday (at least they won't be able to find any baby making drugs in my system) so that shouldn't impact on my possibly getting the job.
