Loula, I must have missed something. 23 fertilised eggs! Jesus!

Hi Lissie. If my DW end up with a successful IVF result and have left over embies, then I would personally be keen to allow my clinic to provide one/some of these to other couples. Although this is something that DW and I have yet to discuss as it's still early days in our procedure.

Good luck Sonya.

As for us, we had our first nurse appt today which went for two hours. We already knew a lot of what was explained to us about the birds and the bees etc, but certainly learnt a few things academically speaking. We (or more specifically I) were shown how to administer the Lucrin, Puregon and trigger injections. I am surprised how thin the needles are, and DW is pleased that you can use a bit of ice to numb the area beforehand if you wish.

I've got to have my HIV/HepB/C bloodtest tomorrow or Friday.

The nurse started out by describing our situation as unexplained infertility. When I raised the fact that my SAs show dodgy morphology she went on to describe this as mild (as did the FS) and still seems to be of the opinion that it is UI with possibly a bit of male factor thrown in. FS never said this so I might just continue on the premise that it's my issue. Apparently I need to start taking a mens multivitamin just in case.

I also have a bit of a bee in my bonnet about having warm baths at the moment given you are supposed to keep the blokes cool. I like to have a bath a couple of nights a week and have a bit of a read. So anyway, nurse reckons these should be avoided, but probably no big deal. Well I wish I knew this from the beginning because I have been doing this for a while and seeing as we start IVF very soon if there is an affect it will be just at the wrong time (given the 70 odd day sperm maturation thing). It's probably nothing to worry about at all, but my whole experience so far is that the bloke is just along for the ride, even when the infertility issue has nothing to do with the female half od the equation. I've got no problems with any of the people we have seen so far as they have all been great, but it just seems to be the general vibe.

Anyway, Lucrin injections start on the 30th July and the EPU (hopefully) will be around August 20ish. I think we've been fairly fortunate with speed of treatment as we only had initial tests done in May to determine that there was an issue, and as of the end of this month it all starts.
