Just a reminder to all: all LTers love seeing a fellow LTer achieve that longed-for BFP, and we all find hope in one of our own having success in this difficult journey. But please remember that there are those who cycled with you who may not have received good news at the end of their cycle. Please do not post baby/child/pg tickers or pg related signatures (eg blinking BFP icons) etc in this forum out of respect for them.
As it's easy to forget to remove your ticker, please be advised that we will remove it for you if it's posted in here.
Can I ask... can anyone recommend something natural to help 'move things along'?
(Gee what a classy way to begin this thread... lol)
I have had terrible constipation (sorry TMI) for the last week (despite drinking 2-3 litres water/day). The nurse said that the stim medication can have this effect.
Have tried Metamucil, eating copious amounts of lettuce with no success. Any suggestions would be welcome.
Tantee, I hear you. I was blocked up for a week after my stim cycle. I tried herbalax, a natural laxative which you can buy from the supermarket. It's got licorice in it tho, which is contra-indicated for pregnancy.
Personally, I only found All Bran to help. It'll take a few days tho.
GL!

Mitf, sorry to hear about your pop. I did a synarel dose 3 hours late and when I told my FS he seriously could not have cared less! He literally waved it away. I'm still fairly religious about it (I have alarms set half an hour before as well as at the time I'm meant to take it), but I don't stress over it if its late.
Daisie, my SIL got pg with a belly button ring. She had to remove it during the pregnancy because it became infected, but it certainly didn't impair her ability to conceive.
Tantee, I asked about this during my last IVF and was told to try prunes, dried apricots or pear juice. Or possibly all of them?
Afm, looks like IVF#4 may be a little later than planned. I've been constantly sick with one cold/virus after another since last cycle and the GP thinks I've just pushed too hard with the back-to-back IVF. So, at this stage I'm thinking I need to give myself a chance to recover. After 18 months of almost constant AC I guess it might be time for a small break?
Hi Tantee,
Thank you for thinking about me.
Dilapan is a rod that is placed inside the cervix( if it is too tight )to dialate it a bit so that access on the day of embryo transfer is easier. This rod is left in place for 4 hours and then removed afterwards.Guess dilapan has to wait for a while now.
Vira, I have just read your post and I am in disbelief. What a complete balls up. I can't believe your doctor did not inform you of what she had found (A) and (B) was not completely apologetic and mortified at her mistake. To make you go so far into the cycle and forget that you had a condition that would not allow you to proceed is insane. I have to say your rant is a lot calmer than mine would have been!!! You are one strong person that's for sure. The only thing I can say is that if they haven't spotted this in the 8 years you've been TTC then possibly once it's rectified you'll be on your way to success You have my sincere empathy and very best wishes for success
My sincere best wishes to you at this frustrating point in your journey
What has happened to you is totally unacceptable and all the more irritating because you could have found out about it much earlier than this.
I am sorry also for the way you were left lying on the table - it's not good enough.
As Jasminstar said,
The only thing I can say is that if they haven't spotted this in the 8 years you've been TTC then possibly once it's rectified you'll be on your way to success
Perhaps this is a really positive way you can look at this? I don't want to sound patronising but sometimes I find it helps to write a letter outlining all of your grievances. Be as forthright as you want and then print it off and tear it up! It is more therapeutic than I ever knew.
We are all thinking of you and wish you all the best for your next hyst.
OMG Vira! I can't belive the incompetence of some of these people. I mean, I know they are the experts and we go to them for help... but this is just a HUGE slip up. I'm so sorry for you. I can sympathise with the "how come they havn't picked it up on earlier tests" bit. I asked my FS to consider endo four years ago (and several times since) and he said, oh no you dont' have any symptoms... so I never had a lap done. DH and I stopped treatment for a while cos I just wasn't in the right headspace. I changed to a new clinic and the new FS said same thing... no endo symptoms. Fortuntately on the US he booked for us it showed a small cyst so they went in, and whamo! it was all over my left hand side. I was mad for a bit because it's been four years of TTC... but now I'm just pleased it has finally been sorted. Fingers crossed for you!!
I'm sorry that you went through that, I think you have a right to rant and complain. My DH was at the Eye & Ear hospital this morning for an examination and the doctor examining him brought in another doctor and they had a full discussion in front of us as if we weren't even in the room. Then one of them said "That's all done, you can go now." Way to go on the communication and bedside manner!
I hope some good comes of your experience and wishing you all the best for the next cycle,
Seph
Hi all,
I'm new to this and i'm lookin for advice from women going thru similar experiences, i have just had my 1st transfer 9 days ago after ttc for 8yrs on & off.
Things have gone extremely well and i'm worried a bit 2 well! managed 2 get 7 embryos 2 blastocyst stage which is said 2 have a very high s/rates.
It's been 15 days since i had my pregnyl injection, i have breast tenderness and extreme tiredness, i have had 2 postive test results but is it to early to test still or could i be amazingly lucky??? if anybody has any advice that would be great because i'm driving myself loopy THNX
Jasminstar - thanks for checking up on me. Yep, I'm still here and have already started my FET cycle.
Had appt with FS last week and came up with a bit of a plan. Told her my concerns of a short luteal phase, so as well as doing progesterone pessaries twice a day, I'll be doing 2 x Pregnyl booster shots in the luteal phase. Hopefully that helps. Also reminded her of my thin uterus lining issues too, so at the moment I'm also on Progynova (6mg per day). Only started the Progynova on CD9 which is apparently a lot later than most women start it (I think you're normally supposed to start it while still having AF). I'm a bit of a weird one though. Progynova is to do with estrogen and is supposed to help thicken the lining. I was told it is normally given to women with no or low ovarian function, so the tablets can do the job of what the ovaries are supposed to do. The weird part is that my estrogen levels have always been ok, but my uterus lining just doesn't seem to thicken very well.
Had an ultrasound yesterday (CD12) and uterus lining was only 5mm which is not great. And I had 1 dominant follicle at 12mm. Having said that though, I think I am usually a later ovulator (maybe not til CD17 to CD19), so I am just hoping that the scan yesterday was just too early for me to be showing progress in the uterus lining department.
To make things even more confusing though, I then got blood test results from yesterday (CD12), which showed that my E2 had decreased from BT 2 days earlier, but my LH had risen from 2 to 10 (from CD10 to CD12). WTF??? I'm on the Progynova, which is an estrogen replacement / enhancement drug, so how on earth does my E2 decrease while I'm taking it!!! My concern was the LH increase and I'm worried I might ovulate soon. But FS had said based on my follicle size (only 12mm) and E2 level (only 394), that I wouldn't be ovulating yet. And that the rise in LH might not mean anything because my LH surge level could be much higher than 10 anyway.
All in all I'm very confused. So any advice would be very welcome. I have another blood test and ultrasound on Monday which will be CD 16. Will also be doing OPK's over the weekend to see if I get anything out of them. I think this will be the first time ever that I want a NEGATIVE result from the OPK, because I just don't think my body is ready to support an embryo if I ovulate prematurely. I'm just hoping and praying that the ultrasound on Monday shows my uterus lining has thickened enough, and that my blood test shows I haven't ovulated yet.
Sorry for the completely long novel of a post. Won't do any personals since this post has been long enough already.
Hope everyone out there in BB land is going along ok.
Tantee - thanks so much. Yes the ball is very special to me and the family so Im so glad I can make it. Must be my sis looking down on me - hope she can help me to get pg.
Sorry again your cyle was unsuccessful. Glad your AF wasnt too bad.
Taureen - thank you 2. I will be resting up and thanks for your wishes for Sun.
Those baths of yours sound nice - we dont have a bath in our new house so I do miss that. Enjoy and all the best for today.
Mitf - thanks to you as well. Not long until Sun now for me. I hope we both get a BFP and I hope everyone here does soon as well x
Jasminstar - No worries LOL. Ive been trying to rest as hard as that is - when you have two dogs, a cat, 5 puppies and a DH to look after LOL. DH has been very good though - doing a lot more to help out than normal.
Thanks for you kind wishes. Im glad you're feeling better and I wish you all the very best of luck that your follies are good. GL today
EmeraldStar - No my nurse hasnt called since she rang about how many fertilised which was early Wed morning. She said she would call today (Friday) though. Could your bleeding have been from the transfer procedure because that probably messes people up a bit. I really hope it was implantation though for you. Thinking of you x
Hi Williamsemma and welcome. 8 years is a long time - I really hope this is it for you!! Your symptoms could be the hormones still or you might be pg. You might just have to wait until BT or AF. Hang in there.
Wishes - not too sure sorry but all the best and GL for Monday!
Hi to everyone and anyone I might have missed. xoxo
williamsemma, if it's been 15 days since your last hcg injection I think there's a very good chance you've got a real BFP there. Unfortunately, you still need to wait for the b/t to confirm that, but I'd be cautiously optimistic if I were in your position.
wishes, my LH level was 45 for one of my IUI's. From memory, I think anything under 20 (or maybe 25) was potentially not the surge. Looking back through my charts, I had LH levels of 10-15 measured for days before the surge occurred. I know how frustrating it can be when you think you know what your body "always does" only to then feel like it's changed it's patterns just to spite you. I don't think you have cause to worry. FX the opks stay -ve for you over the weekend.
jasminstar, glad to hear your hormones are starting to cooperate. I am starting to feel that waiting is the best option, but it still scares the heck out of me...
Hi again
I just got word from my nurse that my 5 eggs are developing along nicely and at about the same pace etc as each other - so sounds alright to me.
ET is at 10am on Sun - Im getting quite excited but still dont want to get my hopes up too much - just in case.
Hope everyone is well! and to all xo

The hormone queen is back. All is good but I have to halve the puregon again to 50 as my FS said the blood test for est was good but as I have approx 30 follies now developing down there on the U/S they will be more than enough to keep the Est levels up! I found out I'm very uncomfortable due to the fact that most of them are between 14 and 16mm (which I am also very happy about BTW) but it means that my ovaries are actually "kissing" and very large indeed. (Nurse lost count and realised she was on the other ovary but they are actually touching at this stage). Back in Monday for next U/S and BT and hopefully go ahead for trigger that night for EPU Wednesday. Lets just hope they all keep growing and stay put till then
Persephone1, Thank you so much for your post and putting my mind at ease. Your symtoms sound exactly like what I'm having. Hopefully after Wednesday I will be a lot more comfortable.
Emerald Star, I certainly don't think TMI and I know I will be the exact same. It's only natural to examine everything and second guess it. I really hope the discharge was implantation - I read that that is quite normal for that timing.
Williamsemma, I'm not really sure when is safe to accept HPT results but it certainly can't mean anything bad. I hope you are sucessful - you've been trying a very long time, GL.
Wishes, How did they find out your uterus lining was very thin? Do they normally check for this kind of thing? Very curious as I have told my FS that I am very concerned about the lightness of my periods compared to a couple of years ago and told her I thought it wasn't developing properly. I have to say I am not much help on the rest of it as they are all new drugs to me but I really hope your OPK stays negative and the lining increases for your little frostie to stick.
Loops12, I hope you enjoy the ball and catching up with all your family. And, as you say, hopefully your sister can send some intervention your way. GL
Sorry to anyone I've missed. And the usual Lucky vibes out to us all.
