Well I can't believe I have gotten to the day before transfer! It seems like it's been such a long road and this is the closest we have ever been. When I left work today, one of the cars I saw had the numberplate BFP... I would like to think of it as a good omen
I had to chase my clinic up as they still hadn't phoned by 1:30pm and they finally called back to say that ET is scheduled for tomorrow at 11:30am. So I booked acupuncture for 9am and then again for 4:45pm as she likes to see you twice on the day of transfer. When I asked the nurse how my embies were doing today, she said "Oh no! We don't disturb them on Day 4!" Uh... sorry for asking!!! So I just have to wait until tomorrow and hope for the best. Like Mitf, I am taking the day off and trying my best to chill out. Will be buying some strawberries as I have read in the past that they are good for helping implantation and have also heard that DTD on day of ET can be good too but I'll check on that with clinic tomorrow!
jasminstar - Thanks so much for the encouragement. I felt really positive yesterday for the first time in the past 10 days or so. I hope your remaining embies have progressed and hope that you are well and not inside your own head too much IYKWIM.
Mitf - No, we didn't do ICSI as DH has good, strong swimmers. ICSI at my clinic is an additional $340 though and the embryologist told me they only perform rescue ICSI about once every 3 months as there is a risk that a sperm has already penetrated the egg but not yet fertilised it. I hadn't realised it was so rare? I think in part it is a Sydney thing and in part the clinic goes by the good name it has in the industry. I went with them because of my FS and would have gone wherever he was. When are you having your EPU? Congrats on your embies - they have really come along since yesterday. Can't wait to hear how you go.
Vira - Thanks for the good wishes. We are all dying to know whether you've secured your appt yet?
Wishes - you poor, tired bugger! That's an early start for you. Can't wait to join you in the TWW. Yes, I am doing a Day 5 transfer. It's great that you are keeping busy - just make sure you stop to smell the roses every now and then!
Babycat - Thanks for the good wishes - they're much appreciated.
Baby2Bee - That is great news from your U/S. I really hope for you that your B/T is just as positive. Not sure how soon they can test - sorry. And I don't think you sound selfish at all! Sounds pretty fair to me.
Nix76 - Good news on your U/S. It is all systems go when you start on the FSH! If you look back to page 6 of this thread, about half way down the page there is a post from me that talks about 5 day blastocyst transfers. Hope this gives you some answers.
Loops12 - It seems that today has been overwhelmingly filled with positive news for you if it happens that your Safety Net can be backdated to include your ICSI! All the best with selling your tractor. DH is getting ready to sell his dirt bike and last night I was wondering about cashing in some of his hard-earned long-service leave for the cash! Does that make me a bad wife?! I'm so proud of you for getting back in here.
to everyone. And a huge THANK YOU for all the well wishes and positive vibes being sent.
I havent had access to a internet for a few days so Im a bit behind. I spent a good half hour typing a long post Friday night and it disappeared and didnt have time to retype but I have been thinking of everyone.
So sorry Emerald Star, I really hoped that this would be your time and was so saddened to hear things didn't progress.
Taurean and Mitf congrats on great embies, sounds like their doing wonderfully! Good luck for tomorrow. My FS made me laugh at my ET, he told me that most women wlk out of the clinic like this - then proceeded to walk with his legs crossed, and reassured me that once it was in it would not fall out! That is exactly what I had worried about, stupid maybe but you never know!
Hope everyone else is ok in what they are up to at the moment.
I am now 6 days post 2day transfer and have started to feel a bit of pain today which is very much like period pain, aching lower back, bloating and dull abdo pain. Not good and I've had a big cry. I have been positive but realistic and even though I have prepared myself for this not to work I think when AF signs arrive it is so distressing. I dont even know when she is actually due after all this treatment but usually have short cycles so would not be surprised if its in the next couple of days.
Thanks for that - I did go back to page 6 and saw your def from your clinic - pretty much how I vagualy understood it but that is quiet clear. DH says we should use that and send to our FS and see what he says - have not quite worked out what his thoughts on transfer days are. Guess we will find out soon enough.
Had my first injection tonight - it was not too bad at all! And if anyone is reading this and has not had to do injections yet - don't be worried or scared, its a tiny ***** and then you feel nothing really! Mind you I was getting DH to do mine!!
Best of luck for your ET tomorrow. I have lots of & for you.
Hi girls, just popping in for an update. Things are not looking good for me this cycle. Was "poking around" a bit this morning looking for signs and I didn't have to go very far when I found red blood just on the inside. My heart just sank. I am 10dpo today and it's almost like clockwork for my body to start to show visible signs of AF by today. My prediciton is that the blood will just sit up there for a couple of days until AF arrives properly, or it might become external spotting, but either way, it's bad.
Every month this happens, and every month I try to convince myself that it's not what it looks like, but every month it ends with AF, so I don't see why this month would be any different. My BT isn't scheduled until Monday 17th, but I think I'll ask to bring that forward to this Sat, because if history is anything to go by with me, I'd say I'll have AF by Sat, and I don't feel like wasting pessaries (or my time) when I know it's for no reason. I also have another BT tomorrow re follow up progesterone levels, and I'm going to ask if they know at what point does prog levels start dropping if pregnancy hasn't been achieved. Because my levels tomorrow could already indicate a drop in progesterone which could also indicate that this month will be another BFN. I might also see if they can sneak in a hcg check tomorrow too, just to put me out of my misery. Tomorrow will only be 11dpo, but as I usually get AF aroung 13dpo, if it hasn't work, the blood test should already show that by tomorrow I would think.
I was feeling pretty low this morning, and didn't go back to sleep for my extra hour after doing pessary, so have been awake since 3.30am. And I'm in for a 9-10 hour day at work for the next 3 days, so all in all, I'm pretty depressed right now.
Sorry but I'm just not up to in-depth personals today. Although I am thinking of mitf and taurean for their EPU today. Good luck.
And good luck to everyone else out there whatever stage you're up to in your cycle.
Wishes - im so sorry darl. I know how you feel and we just know our bodies dont we. I knew AF was coming as soon as I started to get headaches. But anything is possible and just maybe this time it could be implantation. I will be hoping and crossing fingers and toes that AF doesnt come for you. All the best xo.
BT came back yesterday. FS said Oestrogen wasn't as high as it could be but they doubled it up and told me to commence pessaries with FET on Sunday.....I was pretty pumped however I decided to ring FS back and question whether we should be waiting and trying to get the levels up more. My fave nurse said it was fine and quickly brushed me off.......only to ring back within 5 minutes and say that she would actually prefer to postpone it now to get me levels up more.........another week!! bugger....but it's better to be safe than sorry!!!! Another BT planned for Monday next week and then hopefully FET on Saturday 22 August. Pregnancy result will then be planned for Friday 4 Sept....the day I leave on my holiday!!! eeeeek!!!
Wishes, try and stay positive. I know you know your own body and all but you may be wrong. As Loops said it may be implantation discharge. I really hope you are wrong and sending you lots of I hope they can give you an early test so you don't have to go through the whole thing while thinking it's pointless. FX and every lucky wish I can send your way
Nix76 - Glad the info cleared things up. Glad your injection wasn't too bad - I found them pretty tolerable and did all of them myself. Thanks for the luck! I wish you loads of it too.
Wishes - Thank you for thinking of me even when things are clearly not going well for you. Did you manage to get them to bring your BT forward? Try and take care of yourself and maybe get an early night if you can? I am thinking of you and still cross my fingers that it's not AF but as everyone is saying, you know your body best.
Baby2Bee - Good on your for questioning them. Although it means a delay, like you said it is all for the best and I'm so glad you'll know by the time your holiday rolls around. Good luck with it all.
So today I had 1 x Grade 1 blastocyst transferred and a few sessions of acupuncture to try and "seal the deal". We had 1 other blastie to put on ice which was pretty much how we thought it would pan out. 4 eggs - 2 to transfer.
I'm moving on over to the 2 week wait thread but will still pop my head in from time to time to see how you wonderful people are going. Thanks for all your support so far.
Taurean and Mitf, I hope you both went well today and while I was typing that just went back and saw your post Taurean - you're always doing that to me! Delighted you went well and got your grade 1 too - and of course one is reserve is always a bit of a relief.
I didn't know there was a 2WW thread - might pop over for a look. I did read one of the 2WW diaries on BB before and found it very frustrating as it was lets try, here we go, boom 2WW and we're pregnant. Green eyed monster in me was kinda going "no fair!". Anyway will pop over for a look but stay in here checking too. I am a bit demented on the wait - back to work tommorow which will help distract me. Then Darwin on Sunday (3 weeks work there) - I've rung ahead and confirmed my pathology can be done in a lab there close to my hotel at 7am so noone I work with there will even know.
Mitf, let us know how you got on when you feel up to it
Yes, I do always seem to do that to you! I don't want to abandon these fantastic people for good but the TWW is handy for us crazy heads, sending ourselves demented! That's great news that you can get your labs done in Darwin. I hope you manage to get some time in the sun up there in between working (though we can't complain about the Sydney weather ATM).
How did you get on with your other eggs that were a bit slower? Did you get a chance to freeze any?
My clinic is letting my 3rd one go till Day 6 but said they don't hold much hope for it.
Forgot I hadn't posted the news. They didn't ring yesterday morning so I gave up hope at all and then they rang around 12:30 to say that two made it to blastie stage and they were freezing them. Have to say I was pretty thrilled. Not that I'm jinxing this try but I really feel there's just that little bit less pressure when I have a back-up. I hope your little one has a growing spurt overnight - you never know I was told by FS that I had none to freeze and look what happened.
Otherwise, at the very top left of your page where it says Pregnancy, Birth & Baby Forums ~ BellyBelly > Conception > Long Term TTC , click on Long Term TTC and then scroll down the page and the thread titles are there.
Wishes I feel for you. I'm pretty new to all this so can't fully relate but it must be so hard. I agree with you all though; we do 'just know' our bodies and have an inkling. But let's just hope on this occasion you are wrong!
Loops - sorry to hear about yor BFN too. I can't remember or not sure that I read anywhere - but hope you have some in back up so you don't have to go through a whole new cycle again.
Check in with all you fab gals in a few days. Stay smiling :-)
ET went well today. Thanks for thinking of me Jasminstar & wishes.
The 1 little blastocyst transfer went to plan this morning, although my FS forgot to remove the speculum!! My FS was so busy answering the nurse questions and forgot, I couldn?t get a word in. It was like a funny scene out of a movie with me trying to pipe in. They were quiet embarrassed when I finally managed to jump in and ask them to remove it!! I had follow up acupuncture afterwards before spending the day pottering around the house. Of our 7 embies that fertilized - we transferred 1, have lost two, will freeze 2 and are awaiting final confirmation regarding the freezing of the other 2 little ones.
Jasminstar - so glad to hear that two of your little embies made it to blastie stage and were able to be frozen. As you say FX that you won't need them but it is always good to have back up..... if not for now, for when it's time for DD#2 or 3!
Taurean - Great to hear your ET went well and you managed to get one embie for freeze. I really hope your BPF number plate is an omen and I will see you in the 2WW. Also, did you ask your clinic about DTD on ET day?
Loops - I know you expected you BFN but it does make it any easier. All the best as you rest up in preparation for attempt #2. I truly hope you get your well deserved BPF soon. x
Baby2Bee ? As you say it's probably best to wait a week so that everything is aligned perfectly and you are giving your little embie the best possible chance. Good news could make for a fantastic holiday!!
Wishes - I am so sorry to hear that you think AF might be on the way. My are with you. I truly hope that you get your well and truly deserved BFP. These crazy work hours can't be helping!! I hope you get some well deserved rest soon.
Nix76 - glad to hear your first US and injection went well. I managed to do my injections myself as I can't handle the thought of anyone else jabbing me.
Hi to Vira, BabyCat, EmeraldStar, B2B and anyone else lurking!
I am also popping over to the TWW thread but will be lurking and stop in to say hi and offer any advice where I can.
