    Thumbs up EPU over

    Hi all,

Firstly welcome to the new people on the thread! Mrs Zeg I completely understand your feelings about starting your first IVF cycle, you're juggling so many mixed emotions! But there are many people here for support

Juniper: I'm afraid I'm the worst person in the world when it comes to taking syneryl. I have the alarms but because it makes me so vague, I'll do something like walk away to get a tissue then completely forget to come back and have the spray! My husband dobbed me in when he went to pick up some meds and they said they can tell from the blood tests whether you're taking it on time. I got a lecture after my next blood test! However as terrible as I've been with it it hasnt ruined by 2 cycles - luckily.

WAY TMI alert: Spring I share your prob with the pessaries. I thought they would be the easiest one out of all the meds but it wasn't! I had the itchiness and soreness not to mention discharge which I thought was thrush but was told by the nurses it was actually just the residue of the medication. The discharge became pinkish and internet searches revealed that this was normal for some people. However it later appeared to be blood which I thought was from major irritation, but as AF came shortly after it could have been the beginning of that. My tip would also be to insert them away from the urethra, as I found when I did this it reduced irritation slightly.

More TMI: Esperen and Juniper, thanks for your well wishes. My EPU was yesterday and it went well. I didn't have an anxiety attack this time which was great! I woke up distressed from the surgery and for some reason was emotional for a while afterwards so they got DH into recovery early which was nice. I was given extra painkillers this time but spent the afternoon being sick which didnt happen last time, so I expect it was the extra meds. Poor DH spent the afternoon cleaning up his car and other items that copped it

Just got interrupted with a call from the scientists. Of the 15 eggs collected 9 were mature, and 6 out of 9 fertilised. Last time I had 11 collected, 7 mature and 7/7 fertilised. My doctor had upped my meds as he wanted more eggs this time, but I actually have less fertilised. Last time we had one blastie suitable for transfer (BFN) but none that were suitable for freezing. Fingers crossed for this time because I think I need a decent break before I can manage to do a full IVF cycle again

Thinking of you all (I'm bad at the individual response thing because I keep losing the page when I go back to respond) and hope you're all being nice to yourselves.
