Mrs P I'm at Hollywood.....under Simon Turner. I'm really happy with him! Best of luck with your transfer tomorrow. I'll have everything crossed for you and I......a big milestone for both of us!
Kristy, the main drug I've had s/e from is synarel (alternative to lucrin). My first IVF cycle the synarel s/e hit me like a ton of bricks, to the point that I reduced my hours at work. But the 2nd and 3rd cycles were fine. I haven't tried lucrin, but the main s/e I've heard of from that is headaches. I've never had any s/e with puregon (this was my 6th cycle using it). The pregnyl trigger can give you some early pg symptoms. This is the first time I've used pregnyl for the trigger and the main thing I had was an aching lower back.
As for what the drugs do, the lucrin stops your body producing it's normal hormones. The puregon then replaces one of those hormones and stimulates the ovaries to produce follicles/eggs. The pregnyl trigger then causes you to ovulate and release the eggs. The trigger is timed so you are ready to ovulate just when you go into the EPU.
I've never done the lucrin injections, so I can't comment on those, but the puregon injections are a piece of cake. I'm a total needle-phobe and I have done all of my puregon injections myself. I take my time so I don't panic and do everything methodically. Others find it easier to get it over and done quickly. You just need to find what works for you.
I have more of a challenge with the pregnyl because my doctor wants it done IM (intramuscularly - ie in the buttock). DH has to do those for me. I think most people do the pregnyl in the belly though.
Baby2Bee, GL with your EPU today!
MrsP, GL with the transfer!
Sandy, I haven't had that. I'll be interested to hear what your Dr says if you ask?
Hi girls,
firstly some brief persies:
Spring- So sorry about the BFN
Welcome Babytruj
esperan- How are you going?
Mrs P-- I hope the eggies are doing well. GL with ET
Juniper-
Possums- I'm so sorry you are back to waiting again. Hopefully these 2 weeks fly by.
B2B- Wonderful news! GL!
Welcome Krikket- I'm going through my first IVF cycle. You are in the right spot. GL with spraying and injecting. My moods have been all over the place, but really it is not that bad, so far
AFM- I still have had some spotting but am not as worried as before. It is very light. I had a BT this morning and got my results back this afternoon. My levels are increasing (384 I think she said) and the FS said (via the nurse) that as my hormone increases the spotting should stop. I have another BT & U/S on Friday to see how things are going.
I hope you are all well and coping with all the injections and prodding and waiting.
Been awol for a couple of weeks as I haven't really had anything to report.
We have managed to speed up the process a bit and I am booked in for a Laparoscopy and hysteroscopy on Friday. I am feeling a little bit nervous... I have never had an anaesthetic so I have no idea how it will effect me. At the same time I am really happy we managed to get the ball rolling a bit quicker. I have an ovarian cyst which is causing me a bit of discomfort and I am hoping we will have a few more answers at the other end.
Good luck to everyone with their treatment, particularly to those who have an embie on board. I hope the wait isn?t too painful.... lots and lots of and coming your way.
Hey girls just a quick me post I am soo flat out at work today will go on tonight for personals!!
I had my first FS appointment since the drilling and guess what she thinks I have already ovulated I had a blood test this morning and get the results at 2.30 today so I am hoping and praying this means a BFP for us if not we will go on the clomid again this cycle and go from there! This is soo exciting and a positive outcome finally! She also gave me pictures from the day of the surgery and my ovaries where the same size as my uterus and then she has a pick of what she did and the "deflated shaped" ovaries now it was amazing!
Love you all girls and I promise I will be back for personals sorry about the ME post!
MrsP, you've got to stop copying me! My transfer this time was really unpleasant too. I knew I was in trouble when he said "I'm just going to use this instrument to hold your cervix". Reminded me of my HSG...
Mitf, GL with your anaesthetic. I had my first ever when we did IVF#1 in Nov last year and I was absolutely terrified of how I might react to it. In the end it was a walk in the park. I was so relieved when I woke up that I burst into tears. I hope yours is similarly easy.
