    Puregon - morning or night?

    Just wanted to touch base with everyone - are you doing your injections morning or evening?

    I am still unsure - is there any benefit of doing either? - I start tomorrow on 100iu of Puregon till Saturday then swap to Orgalutran.

    So far so good, this my first time with IVF and injecting. I found that the clinic were not that helpful they didnt even get me to practice in front of them I was just "heres your stuff see ya later!"

    Hi Emerald Star - we have also had two unsuccessful IUI's this year and are hoping to start IVF on my next cycle. I just had a lap though, not sure how long I am expected to recover before moving ahead with IVF. I have a FS appointment next Wed so I guess we will wait to see what she says.

    Also, can anyone tell me if AF will arrive normally after a Lap/ Hyst or will this throw my usual cycle out the window?

    I hope everyone else is well and good luck with your treatment.

    Mitf- cant help you about the AF siyuation after Lap/ hyst. but maybe someone else will respond. sorry!!
    However, i will be starting my #1 IVF ICSI cycle around 4 july (AF due) so maybe we can be IVF buddies, if you start around the same time. It would be great to go through it with someone and compare notes. We do have an age difference, and success rates are, I hear 1in 2 for your age and 1 in 4 for my age. I am pretty ok as far as we know except for a missing right tube due to ectopic in 2007. DH has low motility.
    Anyway hope we can go through this journey together. Good luck with everything!
    BFP for all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Krikkit

    I saw a couple of your posts and wanted to reply, as I always wondered the same thing about time of puregon, am vs. pm. My new clinic suggested we inject in the evenings, so that if I have a BT that morning, they can alter the dose for that evening. Which I thought made sense, but dont worry if you have started in the mornings, I did morning shots with my last 3 cycle's, as we didnt have BT monotoring there.

    I am surprised your clinic didn't give you a demo on how to inject, make sure you ring and talk to the nurses if you have any queries, or we can give you our opinions and advise until they get back to you

    Krikkit, sorry, I missed that post... My Dr prefers I do my injections in the morning. Don't know why? I'm glad your first one went well.

    Is this your first cycle with injects? My puregon dose was a lot higher but I had used 75-100iu in IUI cycles and didn't produce many follicles so we knew I needed more for IVF.

    Time to inject?

    I did all my injections in the morning, except the trigger which was in the evening. We weren't told when to do the daily injections, but DH and I worked out that the morning was more convenient for us because:

    DH would get me out of bed to do the injection and be there to help me out if necessary (he wasn't always at home in the evenings);

    Mornings were easier because we would both be at home (trying to organise an injection whilst out at the movies or having dinner with friends just didn't work for us);

    And morning injections just fit better with our routine (get up, eat breakfast, inject, have a shower, etc).

    What ever suits you - and good luck!

    Emerald Star - It would be great to have an IVF buddy. At this stage I have no idea when AF will arrive but if she sticks to the usual schedule I will probably be about a week behind you. I will keep you posted after my FS appointment next week and see when AF decides to pop in. As for the success rates and the age difference - I wouldn't worry to much about that.... Just fingers crossed that there will be BFPs for both of us. I have never had a confirmed pregnancy and I don't think my Lap showed up anything too strange, although I was rather groggy from the anaesthetic when my FS came by. She did tell me she drained a blood filled ovarian cyst, but that had shown up on an ultrasound so I had expected that....... Guess I will learn more next week.

    Miss K - it is funny that AF can become something to look forward too. Good luck with your treatment. I hope it is your time to shine!

    Krikkit - good luck with your treatment and the injections. I am not entirely sure how the doses and injections work for IVF but I was on 50 puregon when I did IUI. We are hoping to start IVF soon so I will now be interested to see what they put me on. I guess everyone responds diffrently so its just a case of you and your FS finding out what works best for you. They may have started you on a lower dose to see how you react and avoid OHSS.

    Smithy - Yes congratulations to you & DH. It is fantastic inspiration to see someone else on the journey reach their dream!! Wishing you a H&H 9 months ahead

    Hi All! Well what a ride i've been having. Last Wednesday I went in for my EPU.....24 eggs!!! and too many for a fresh transfer! damn. Anyway we ended up with 14 fertilized eggs and 5 eggs that made it through to the freezer.....we're pretty happy with it all. The only bummer is we now need to wait until the end of this cycle, then we have to have the next month off before we can do the transfer.....back in the waiting game! I've possibly got the option of transfering two embryo's but I'd like to know the risks (if any) that are involved. Does anyone know?

    Baby2bee, we did single embryo transfers for IVF#1 and our only FET. For IVF#2 and this one (IVF#3) we have transferred 2 embryos. The main risk involved is that you may get twins.
