Bec I do feel for you as I may be about to go through the same thing. My transfer is booked for Monday and so far my FS is yet to agree to put back two. Even though i have previously done 2 fresh transfers and 5 FET. This is my first time with this FS and he is adament about only putting back 1. I am 30 years old and have been TTC for 5 years - I think I have earned the right to make the decision.
BecD The situation with your brother and his GF really sucks to put it bluntly. Just doesn't seem fait that some people can just pop babies out willy nilly , then not care for them properly. Must be very tough for you to be so close to it all.
About today..... WTF! I don't get why you can't make that choice yourself. As long as you are fully informed of all the risks with multiples etc, bottom line is that its your body and your embies!

Mels77- I think you have your priorities set just right atm. You can always work, but making a family is not something that can wait forever. The last thing you need on this tortuous journey, is to feel that you haven't done this or that or 'what if?" Praying this FET goes well and that you get your xmas BFP just in time
AFM - feeling ok in general, just headachey and tender ovaries but not to bad. Very anxious about tomorrow's EPU but excited to get going into the next phase of this cycle. Just want enough embies to do PGD and hopefuly get at l;east a couple of normals.
Bec D- Im so sorry for you, do they know it will be the last one you can do for a while? i thought they would put 2 in every time as it is better chances or is it their way of making money? please let me know how it goes for you, fingers crossed!
mollygirl- Im finding it difficult to get my point across with these gp's!!! im on the gold coast too! what gp did you see or what practice? i go to labrador park medical centre and have a great gp but he is on leave for 3 months and i dont know who else to go see and then i have to pay for all my files to be moved as i dont like anyone else in that clinic, ive seen them all over the years for various things and i have settled with one but he is insistant that an FS would only refer us to urologist which i dont think makes sense, any advice would be great as I feel myself becoming more bitter and bitter everyday and want something done or some help!
AFM- im on CD18 of 28 day cycle and so sick of waiting! no opk's or monitor worked for me this cycle so just wait and see i guess!
21 - The Dr who referred me was Dr Jane Ramsbottom at the West Burleigh Medical Centre but I have since been informed that she is now working overseas. I have 2 other close friends who have recently started IVF and I will check with them who referred them. One was refered to Monash IVF and the other to Fertility Gold Coast.
AFM- well just got an update from the clinic, Day 3 and all 19 embies are growing and devloping as they should. I have however been told that the biggest hurdle is often from day 3 to day 4 so fingers crossed most of them hang on. Just had another lengthy dicussion about whether they will transfer 1 or 2 - they are adament that transferring 2 high quality embies is the wrong thing to do because of all the added possible complications etc... I am so confused now as to what to do if there are indeed 2 great embies

just letting you know i've got a fs app on mon morn for scan and then if all ok prob FET about 8th or 9th of dec. so will find out if preg about christmas day. this is a good sign and i feel very good about it this time.
HI ladies, Sorry about the late post but its been a loooon day.
What did I say about ovary pain subsiding?!!
Fel ok when I got up but as it neared EPU time I could barely walk. They were running quite late at the hospital and when the pain got really bad I started to get quite worried that I was ovulating already. Had to lie down with heat pack until they got me in!
Anyway, all went fine. 21 eggs collected but not jumping up and down as I know a fair proportion of those will be too immature. Won't find out anything more until Monday as clinic doesn't do any calls on Sun. Oh, unless we get none fertilise so actually hoping we don't hear anyting until Mon.
Still feeling pretty drained and sore but relieved at least this part is over
MG - Wow, 19 embies still going strong. Sounds like you should get good numbers through to day5. I would have to say, with those numbers, that most clinics would defnitely push for just a single embie transfer as you are very likely to have plenty in the freezer for future attempts.I can cerainly understand the desire to put 2 in and maybe slightly increase chance of getting pg quicker but the risks may outway the 'time" factor
21 - hope you can get the help you need and deserve very soon. I am still being called "young" at my IVF clinic even though I am 37 (and concerned about my age). Just keep pushing for the help you want/
JBM - Hope your appt goes well on Mon and you get that magical xmas BFP!!
Hi all just checking in to see that you are all doing ok. AF arrived today which would be great but we still dont have the go ahead to do a cycle yet. FS is not looking at our file until monday, so I guess it wont be until after christmas which is not so bad I guess. Well have a good night.

Mollygirl - you have some great numbers there! It's a confusing issue the old put one or two back in. My FS told me that putting two back in only increases your chances of twins, not pregnancy. Hence, more complications for mother and babies if twins.....don't know who to believe really.

AFM - well transfer day is tomorrow and to add to the excitement, my best friend called me this morning at 4.48am to tell me she got a second line on her HPT so if all goes to plan we will be due 2 weeks apart

21andTTC#1 I have also thought about doing the condom trick as so many people I know have become pregnant after one has broken. WOW that was a lot
AFM Well after my blood test last monday the nurse rang and said it indicated that I was in the later stages of my cycle so that basically ment I O'd on the Friday before hand so now I am 9DPO so I guess that also means I am offically in the TWW the nurse also has advised me that if AF doesn't show on Dec 5th when she is due then to wait 1-2 weeks then do a BT for BHCG so here is hoping stay away AF.
