Hi girls - just checking in to say hi.

I started my injections last night. The lead-up was a bit traumatic, but in the end it wasn't that bad. I know it won't be, but I'm just not a needle person, and DH decided it would be best if I started doing them first go in case he's not here one night. Still don't like the idea of doing it myself, but it's for a very good cause - have to keep my eye on the prize!! The meds are messing with me tho' - has anyone else found that? I'm really foggy in the head, and somewhat mellow about things, which I suppose is good, except that I have a bunch going on at work at the moment that I really need to be on top of, so I'm hoping I can still do what I need to do. The spray tastes pretty yucky and gives me a bit of a headache, but nothing too drastic at the moment.

I have my scan on Monday to confirm everything, but at the moment EPU is planned for Friday 7th... the day before we move house. We have the option of moving on the 8th or the 15th, but I think the 15th is too close to FET, and I think it's more important to be relaxed for that one. Don't you think? So I won't be much use on the day of the move, but DH will have 4 helper bees, and I'll have 2 mums and my brother's girlfriend to look after me, so things should be ok. Also, DH's parents are retired and have offered to do some running around for us in the few days leading up to the move. It's only a small move too - just around the corner, pretty much. I'm not worried about it yet, and am trying to stay that way. Also have a bunch of work due at the end of my TWW, so hopefully that will give me something to do without stressing me out too much - I hear that's key to this process. I start yoga classes next week too (with MIL), and am looking forward to that.

Gee, there's lots going on in this thread - lots of BTs, EPUs, FETs... for everyone.

    Have a great day everyone!!

Bub4me - I was pretty tired and not up for much after my EPU (and a little uncomfortable), so make sure you have the option of sitting on the couch if you feel like it

LNB - good luck today!!! Let us know how you go!

Smithy & Wouldlove - good luck for your EPUs today!

    Thanks for everyones well wishes.

My fears turned to reality yesterday afternoon. After 2ww + 9 days, after having 4 BTs, my HCG dropped down to 45. I am now getting my period

I'm really angry. I had severe OHSS and without knowing all the facts had a fresh ET. If I had of known what I know now, I would have done a FET. I wouldn't have gone through so much pain and I might have had more success.

This experience is my first and has really opened my eyes. For those of you who have been through it time and time again, you are really amazing. The strength you must have is amazing. I am glad I found this forum. It has given me so much and makes me feel less alone. Speaking to family is wonderful, but unless you have gone through it, they will never though the pain, emotion and uselessness you feel.

Now that I have AF I am getting pains and am worried of complications. How do I know if it's not doing the job it's self?

hi spring - i'm so sorry to hear your news. hang in there, you'll be ok. you had a similar experience to me (first ivf, transfer, BFP - HCG 64, then dropped and m/c within days). my FS kept getting blood tests to make sure the HCG had dropped. i had a very strange AF (not a normal period at all). i've since had a scan and there's nothing left so it has properly m/c. This month i've been told to do nothing (ie no FET) until AF comes again and we do a FET next time.

you did a great job getting a HCG on your first transfer. from what i understand from my FS, getting any HCG is very positive news - and it wouldn't have been your fault that it m/c. It is the embie that was never going to survive, no matter what you did or whether it was a FET.

i hope you feel better soon. take care

Spring, I have just gone through the same as what you are. I did a stim cycle in September. My BT showed hcg of 29. It dropped to 6 a few days later. It should have kept dropping to 0 but 1 week later BT showed it went back up to 23. A week later showed levels at 17. There were suggestions if it didn't drop to 0, that there were tablets that could be prescribed to force my body to have a period and clear whatever is left. Another week later (yesterday) a BT showed I'm finally back to 0 and ready to do a FET when AF shows up which they expect to be within a few days now.

I hope you're feeling ok. Being in limbo is really hard. Not knowing where you're body is at or what is going to happen. I'm assuming your clinic has asked you to return for follow up BT? If not, ring and ask them about it.

Take care. Wishing everyone else all the very best, whatever stage you're all at along this rollercoaster!

    Kaydee & Mels,

Thank you for your stories. FS did not mention anything about a f/up BT. I will definitely ask them about that. I didn't know that you should still BT until HCF was back to 0.
DH is angry with FS and ready to go to another clinic. Unfortunately he is not coping too well. I think we both expected too much on our first go. We wanted so desperately to have a BFP for Christmas. I know now that we must be more patient and that I must think of my health before jumping into anything. I think the sooner we are pregnant, the sooner DH will heal. See, we are using donor sperm. I believe DH blames himself for all this, even though none of it is his fault.

Have a good afternoon ladies. I hope someone has some good news to give us all a pep up?

Spring, sorry to read your sad news. I hope you and your DH are OK. It's just an emotional rollercoaster this whole process.
I have just suffered a miscarriage at 8.5 weeks, after getting a BFP after a FET.... it has been a devastating experience and DH and I are now regrouping and finding the strength to start all over again. It's hard work, but somehow we all do manage to keep going and keep hoping. I really hope you get your BFP soon. hang in there . It is hard when so many people really don't get it..but this is a helpful place to chat with people who DO get it

Hi Spring, so sorry for you. Even in natural birth 50% of pregnancy ends early mainly because the bub couldn't implant properly or has a chromosome defect which prevents it from developing further. Most people don't get gp on their first IVF. I had the expectation that I would in my first cycle last year because I was young and the problem was not with me.. but here I am 1 year later. The good thing though is I strongly believe that it would happen one day... even my fs said so. do you have any frosties? You are bound to be successful next time. My thoughts are with you.

LNB - congratulations on your BFP!!

Spring - sorry for your loss - I know you will find plenty of support in here for the next leg of your journey.

There are a lot of really amazing inspirational women in this thread - having never actually been pg I can't fathom how to deal with the loss of something so precious. All I know is that in the end, when we all get our little tiny bundles to love forever, it will make all the sadness and suffering worth it. Hugs to all.
