That sounds like there's something not right, doesn't it Juniper? I hope it's something manageable which might be the key to getting you pg!

AFM, 5 of my 6 eggs have fertilized. That's good, so far.

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014

I did end up having a b/t and oestrogen started dropping, so when I saw him again today he said that would make this egg no good, so no point triggering. I was thinking the same last night, so was glad he agreed. He recommended we try clomid next cycle, but I told him I had awful s/e with clomid in the past and that I'm not willing to risk going through that again. He still said to call at the beginning of next cycle, but unless he is willing to prescribe either letrozole or FSH instead of clomid, there's not really much point... I asked him why this would be happening, but he gave me the "weak ovulation" line and, when pressed, admitted they don't really know enough about this part of our cycles to know why it happens, only how to diagnose and treat it...

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014

Juniper - so sorry to hear So are you doing natural cycles with trigger shots? I am a bit new to this game as with my previous pregnancies only needed clomid and it worked 1st cycle with my first and 2nd cycle with my son.

AFM - bloodtest last friday and this monday only showed small rises, so another bloodtest and ultrasound tomorrow morning to see whats going on. Depending on that will depend if/when having a trigger. The nurse who did the BT the other day said they might even give a booster instead of the trigger? I am so confused, I speak none of their lingo! and clearly like my previous clomid cycles this year, this cycle is not going to be a 28 day cycle

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014

Sorry to hear about the confusing cycles, Razzberry and Juniper. Don't be afraid to keep asking questions, Razzberry. The nurses don't know what you do and don't understand.

My day 3 embryos report this morning was disappointing. Only 1 of the 4 embies had reached the target 6-8 cells, 2 had only 5 and 1 had only 4. The embryologist had another look for me this afternoon at 4, just before he went home, and 1 still had only 4. The 5 cell embies were up to 6 and 7, which means they might or might not be ok, still. The 8 cell was still 8 cells, which is ok for 8 hours later.

But we'll see tomorrow morning. Last time all of the embryos didn't grow past the 8 cell (day 3) stage, so getting to this stage wasn't the hurdle, it's getting past it that worries me. Tomorrow will be the crunch day.

I'm so stressed about it, I know there's nothing I can do, and I'm being a terrible mother to DS atm because I'm horribly sore and bloated, and stressed and miserable, and I really hate having to go through this. Just because I want another child to complete my family. It doesn't seem do much to want.

Right there with you, hun! I hope tomorrow brings some good news.

Razzberry, a booster is probably a lower dose or it may be a trigger shot coinciding with your natural LH surge to give it a "boost". You'd know which based on the timing, which I guess you'll find out when/if they give it to you. As Pholi said, do ask questions both at the clinic and here if you want to know more. As for my issue, before june I always O'd on my own without any problems. Then suddenly I stopped O'ing in June for no known reason, which is beyond frustrating... We had been trying naturally because we're pretty much burnt out with TTC treatments...

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014

Scan went well this morning, 1 big follicle about 18.5mm an bloodtest showed Im going to ovulate next day or 2. Good news is I don't have to give myself the trigger! They said to come in next weds and they would do it for me, so the trigger is just to aid in making my lining optimal apparently as Im going to ovulate myself (well with clomids help!). I was really stressing about the needle so very relieved they will do it for me!

    Good luck razberry.

Welcome lbz. This forum is a great place for support and picking other ppls brains. This is definitely a difficult process. No matter how many cycles you have done. Sorry I don't have any advice specific to your circumstances. Hopefully someone else can help

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception October 2014

CatyO, we both had a tf yesterday, then!

2 of my embryos surprised everyone yesterday (Saturday) by becoming day 5 blastocysts when it was looking not so great on day 4. So I had a transfer yesterday morning, one embies went in the freezer, and a third might be ok to freeze by tomorrow.

So relieved that I can still produce eggs that become blastocysts, at least, after the abysmal results last cycle. Now it's FX for implantation. My blood test is Wednesday week. Seems a looooong way away!
