FloJo, a very warm welcome to you. :) I've found this thread, and all of BB for that matter, a huge source of support and I'm sure you'll find the same. Good luck for a better outcome with this cycle.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome, have just booked my blood test for monday 8th. When do you think i could try a HPT? I am 5 days post blast transfer. I know the pee sticks are evil but i just want to prepare myself a bit before the BT.
I started testing at 4 days past blast transfer - and never really saw a clear positive. Was distinctly BFN on the day before blood test. I have to say that my advice would be not to bother with the evil pee sticks... but I can't actually see myself sticking with that advice when I have my transfer! I would suggest that you wait a couple more days, myabe 7 days past transfer? That's the goal I've set for myself - hold on until then.
BW
ditto w Bw on the hpt
Welcome FloJo
Flojo I personally think that testing before 7 day post transfer for a blast transfer is a waste of time, as historically blast transfer pgs have slower rising HCG levels than other pgs (I'm sorry all you regulars for trotting that bit of advice out again!)
FloJo, personally, I'd be inclined to just leave HPT for as long as you possibly can. If you get a BFP, you'll wonder if it's still the trigger in your system, and if you get a BFN you'll wonder if your levels will rise sufficently by tomorrow to get the BFP. This is just my opinion but I reckon it's better to hold out until the morning of the BT before doing a HPT - and then only so you are forewarned of the probable result.
Easier said than done, I know.
Had collection this morning which was very exciting. After starting out with a possible 8 from U/S on Monday they managed to get 9 eggs so very excited! Now I just have to wait until tomorrow morning to find out how many have fertilised. Hopefully with ICSI we'll get a good %. We then still have to go through PGD which will be done on Sun/Mon so hopefully by next Tuesday we'll get a good result and be able to transfer. Feeling pretty good after the collection today but I was warned that 48 hours is the killer. Has anyone else experienced this? At least I'll have the w/end to recover fully. Trying to keep everything in perspective and not get too ahead of myself.
Good luck & best wishes for everyone
JS, first of all, well done and congrats. Secondly, DW was fine after her EPU and she was swollen like a blimp beforehand (and after) due to the high number of eggs she had. She was even kicking the soccer ball around with me and the dog that afternoon. That's not to say you wont be tender, but at least based on our experience, and that of the other ladies here, you should be fine.
You've done all the hard work, just sit back and we'll all keep our fingers crossed for a good fert. rate and successful PGD process.
Hi Guys
Tigerlinda - Im at City Fertility with Dr Lindstrom, they are really great there!!
Joe - Congrats on the great egg numbers so rest up and get ready for transfer next week!!
Have a great day!!
Joe Congrats I have aalways pulled up Ok after egg pu. Best of luck with our ICSI so far we have had 50% ratio. Lokking forward to seeing you have embies on board
Shannon we are with Dr Das small world :)
Great news on the number of eggs Joe. Hope that you get good news about how many fertilised too!
I am a little nervous about the collection, but it sounds like you girls pulled up OK.
Thanks Sushee for the info, I wasnt aware the levels rose slower. I am going to try to wait till monday morning. Also congrats Joe.S for getting so many eggs, thats one step down and I cross my fingers all will go great for you from here.:crossfingers:
I had an absolutely horrendous time after my EPU. Was off work for three weeks and took ages to recover. BUT I did have a pretty shocking case of OHSS, and the clinic did warn me it was likely to happen. My PCOS gave the clinic quite a few headaches in terms of getting me to respond, and when I did I responded too well. They'd been watching my levels very carefully in the lead up, so it wasn't really a surprise. It is possible to develop OHSS afterwards - but I don't think you could get it as badly as me without having some sort of warning before hand in the way you respond to the FSH injections.
Sorry if I'm scaring anyone - I do tend to be the worst case scenario. Just take it easy and keep your fluid intake up and you should be fine.

Moring Lasdies AF is here so we are on CD1 today Scan booked for next Friday at 11am we are on the way! Yay!
Ellie, glad to hear all seems good with you. WIll catch up with your journal over the next couple of days.
Shannon..thinking of you..
BW, how are things with you?
Tiggerlinda, YAY for being on the way with a new cycle!
Big helllo to everyone else that I missed, sorry for my lack of personals.
We had our U/S last week and started injections today! DH is at work, so I went to the local health centre and asked if one of the nurses could help me out. Next u/s is on Wednesday, should be home Wednesday night.
Nic
Must be a relief to finally be started, Nic. Hope you get the injections sorted out - I found them no drama at all after the first few.
Tiggerlinda, also much be good to be getting started. Wishing you both every success. :)
I'm doing ok - sinus infection finally seems to be on the way out (I thought this a few days ago and relapsed slightly), and I don't think it will be all that much longer before we get to transfer. I've discovered the first few signs of fertile mucus - After spending so much time looking for it and not ovulating at all, I'm getting a real kick out of seeing my body do the right things for a change.
I'll probably become decidedly hermit-like as transfer gets closer. I'm not up to the hype of last time and I'm going to be keeping test date a secret. And possibly also the exact transfer date so I don't have people calculating test date from my last cycle. I hope it doesn't sound too crazy, I just need to do things on a much smaller scale this time... but I might get there and want to tell the whole world again, so who knows?
BW
way to go nic! i'm so happy for you and DH that you're finally on your way - that's awesome news hun!
BW - glad your body is doing it's thing the right way again hun - no one will blame you for keeping your dates a secret hun - you've been through heaps, and you just need to do whatever it takes for you to be comfortable
take it easy
That's completely understandable BW, I'll wish you well and will definately have you in my thoughts.
As for it being a relief to have finally started..I feel weird, it's like it still isn't happening, I almost feel like I'm about 6 months behind emotinally to where we are physically if that makes any sense?
DH will be home on Sunday morning so he can watch 'his' first injection. Maybe it will feel more real then?
oops forgot to ask a little question about the puregon. Exactly how far should I be pushing the needle in? Is it suppose to be all the way to the pen?
Nic
Nic, I have never gone all the way to the pen and it has been fine. Glad to see someone else will be close with me. Thanks for the congrats girls
Thanks Tiggerlinda :)
Nic
I always put the needle in all the way - for puregon, lucrin and trigger. Just seemed to be the only way to make sure it was consistent each time.
Thanks for understanding. I'm feeling a little nutty here at the moment - gotta remember it's just the letrozole talking. I am calm, all will be well...
BW
Nic, I put them just about all the way in too - just short of the bottom of the syringe.
i'm with the "almost all the way" mob!
i just found it easier to make sure i was doing it the same every time - plus the needles really aren't that long so it wasn't a drama!
Thanks BW and Rols :)
Suppose I will just see what works. I put it in all the way, then was watching where I was pushing the dial back in and thought 'ooh that's starting to hurt' so looked at the needle and I had started to pull it back out slightly! At least I know that I shouldn't try that one again LOL! Have the tiniest of bruises, it's so cute!
Nic
Nic, with the Puregon pen I suggest you insert it, and grip it with one hand, and depress the dial/plunger with the other so you can maintain the depth. If you try and do it all one handed it could end in tears. Those pens are a bit of a beast I reckon.
So I don't have to keep pinching the skin while injecting? I can let it go and then use that hand to depress the plunger?
Nic
NIC .first i just want to say congratulations on starting the injections hun and best of luck with your cycle.i do agree with the others ,both fsh and the trigger i put the needle all the way in.
TIGGERLINDA. best of luk to you with this cycle
BW..you are just amazing, you should be so proud of your sefl for how far you have come over the last few months,i wish you all the luck in the world for this cycle take care hun xxoo
I was taught not to pinch the skin but to use your fingers to stretch it out and make it taut. But yes, you can let go of your pinch, nic, once the needle is in. In my latter cycles, I just stuck it in, no pinching or stretching. :P
BW I completely get your wanting to keep your dates a secret. I did blood tracking for an FET in April this year and no one but the mods knew about it. :) It ended up being cancelled and my little snowbub is still in the freezer but when I do go again, I'm pretty sure I'll be keeping it low key too. After all my failed cycles from before, the pressure would do my head in, even without anyone watching.
Hi everyone,
Had another bloodtest/ultrasound combo today, i feel like an old hand at this already. Ultrasound shows nothing has changed since AF, still have 14 follicles, the biggest of which is only 7mm... great. She kept talking about taking it slowly and being worried about OHSS. Am to increase my dose to 112.5 daily and go for another scan next Wednesday.
nic - i keep pinching the skin, but you don't have to - you can let it go (my nurse does if she inficts any injections on me!) i don't know exactly how i do it, but i basically get the needle in then switch the way i'm holding it so i can plunge the stuff in - i can do it easy, but trying to get the words to describe it......... well, that's just too hard!
Nic, it must be a relief to have it all underway after all that time on the synarel! Lots of luck to you and I hope everything works out for you! :)
BW, I completely understand where you are coming from with regards to keeping things low key during your cycle. It makes a lot of sense and certainly takes the pressure off.
My BT was today and it was a BFN. I knew that already though as AF arrived on Monday. I am so annoyed that both stim cycles, AF has arrived 9 days after transfer. Feels like my little embryos don't have much chance. I have spent the week dealing with the disappointment and thought I would keep the news to myself until it was offical.
DH and I have decided that we wont do our FET until after Christmas. A good 3-4 months off could be just what we both need.
Nic you can let go of the skin once the needle is in. For me in the ned it was easier not to pinch.
Smithy Thanks :)
megan i'm soooo sorry hunni - wish i could say something deep and profound to make this easier on you, but words just dont cut it at the moment - am thinking of you hun
Hi Guys
Megan - really sorry to hear about the BFN hun, look after yourself and enjoy the break. Big Hugs!!
Nic - Congrats on getting started how are you liking your FS?
Tigerlinda - Ahh yes i have heard good things about Dr Das! Congrats on getting underway!
Rols - Hope you and Dw are holding up ok in your FET.
BW - Good luck hun and completely understand wanting to be low key... i know my DH wishes i didn't have such a big mouth!! Do whats best for you and we are all here supporting you :)
Nothing happening here just waiting to see FS on Monday morning and decide ont he next step. Still about 3 weeks before we can start a boost stim cycle again.
Shan
Megan Sorry to hear that we have just come off a 6mth break and though I did't want to at the time and almost cut DH head off for the suggestion I know I am better for it now. There is nothing I can say to make you feell better than we are here for you.
:hugs: Megan. No words, just the wish it didn't have to be this way.
BW
Hi Girls, well it sounds like just about everyone is on a positive step forward. Great to hear BW things are happening for you, I really am crossing my fingers for you. I know I have just joined but all of the girls here are so friendly and supportive, its great to not feel alone anymore. Hope its ok to ask another silly question but do you think its ok to not feel any pregnancy symptoms at all yet? My BT is not until Monday but i just dont feel like I am even a bit. Just wish I had some kind of sign it was all going to be ok. Cant get it out of my head.
Megan I am so sorry it didnt work out how you wanted it to, life is so completely unfair but please hang in there, you are very brave.
Flo, I had really strong symptoms from 4 days after transfer. It was a BFP. I've also heard of women having absolutely no symptoms at all and still getting a BFP. Impossible to say either way - the presence or absence of symptoms seems to mean absolutely nothing.
To borrow some words from my FS (strangely enough, words that didn't make me want to deck him for a change), there's nothing you can do to change the outcome now. Whichever one it will be, it's already decided. You're much better off trying to stay relaxed and not stressed. No easy task, I know.
