kotare, the whole PCO/PCOS issue is a tricky one.

You can have PCO (polycystic ovaries) without PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), just as you can have PCOS without PCO! There are some women with PCOS that have normal ovaries. The syndrome is caused by insulin resistance, which in turn contributes to messing up hormones and that's what causes the acne, hair, weight gain, lack of ovulation, etc. Not everyone with PCOS gets all of those symptoms. I have PCOS, and from my insulin levels I'm quite severely insulin resistant (ie severe PCOS), but I'm not overweight, don't have hair, never had acne in my entire life... I just have PCO, whacked out hormone levels and a complete and utter lack of ovulation! As for which doctor was right or wrong - I have no idea! You can't diagnose PCOS on the appearance of the ovaries alone, and some women with PCOS (and many with obvious symptoms far worse than mine) ovulate on their own with no problems at all. Confused yet?

    Thanks BW,
Wow, that's confusing. I wish i had asked more questions at the time! I have an appointment at the end of Feb, and i think i will start a little book to take with me, as both DH and i think of things all the time and then never remember when we are at the appts.
    Thanks for the help
