My DH & I have a daughter, and had no major problems conceiving her (about 4 months of trying) so I have been blissfully unaware of the issues so many couples have. We started trying for our second over a year ago, and have had 2 mc and several chemical pregnancies. We're getting really down about it now and don't really know what to do next .
I temp & use ov tests, so know I usually ovulate on about day 21 of my cycle, but my cycle is only around 31 days long, so even if we conceive my period still comes & the 'pregnancy' is lost. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Should we go to our GP? Or OB? Or will they just tell us to keep trying? We're both a bit overweight at the moment too - will they just tell us to loose weight & come back later??
If anyone has some advice/similar stories I'd love to hear from you!
Sorry to hear you are struggling to keep a pregnancy *hugs*
I would start with a gp because you will need a referral to a OB/gynae or fertility specialist anyway.
The Gp may be able to run some blood tests or might refer you onwards.
Best of luck x
Thanks for replying! I have a current referral for my ob (valid for 12mo) from when we had our last mc- do you think it's still worth seeing the GP first?
Yeah I'd go straight to OB then.
I had 3miscarriages and when I got blood tests they discovered a clotting disorder. I needed to be on aspirin and clexane thru my pregnancy but it was worth it as I got a baby! Best of luck
