    Hi all,

WBM - 7 days after ovulation for your bloods. You need to check Prog levels to confirm you Od etc.
Janeo - I used progesterone pessaries after ocyte collection for IVF. I had no ill effects but there were a few gross moments with "discharge". Note: it is not your baby falling out. Lol!
Diamond - IVFA usually keeps the Synarel going even after you start FSH injections. It's to keep your natural hormones suppressed. Hopefully the FSH will eliminate the Synarel headaches. Just keep your eye on the prize - you're nearly there! Please tell me you're taking B6 - I really want these babies to stick for you.
AFM - weighed myself at the hospital this morning. Their scales are 4.2kgs lighter than my GPs! Whoo-hoo! Have moved the nucal translucency scan to Jan 30. Bloods on Jan 27. Should know on the 30th whether we need to do an amnio. All nerve racking. Hopefully will have some good news to report at my sister's birthday the next day.

    :-)
    OP.

    Dear all,

On behalf of the Moderator Team I have added information requesting that posters do not discuss pregnancy or display their tickers in this thread, as a mark of respect for those that have not reached this happy outcome. This brings this thread in line with similar threads in this section.

Apologies to those that have inadvertantly displayed the tickers and had these discussions as well as to those that have been distressed by the discussions and images.

Toby - I used progesterone pessaries in my last iui cycle. I got sore nipples, then sore boobs and some mild nausea. Af was also delayed by 5 days. My symptoms were similar to what I've read about early pregnancy symptoms, but my blood test results came back with a BFN.

I had another scan today, my follie is 1.8cm so things are looking good. I picked up my trigger injections today, they gave me ovidrel instead of pregnyl this time.
Now I wait for my afternoon results call to find out when things happen.

    Hello everyone,

I used to post here but was a little spaced out for a while as after 2 failed IUIs and a laparoscopy which found nothing but a problem cervix, I went AWOL. In November I was advised to TTC naturally but to no avail to date. This is my last month of the natural approach before my next appointment and the stress has set in.

I just wanted to ask if anyone has experienced the following:

    1. severe bloating for a month

    2. a positive OPK but were still pregnant

    3. nausea the week before their period but still the dreaded AF visited

Evere since my lap I have been having 2 weeks of hell before my period (cramps, nausea, extreme boob pains, spotting and tingling tongue......weird but true) I am concerned that I am creating these symptoms in my mind OR I have been having Chemical pregnancies. If anyone has anything they could share with me, I would be so grateful. Is there any way I can ascertain that I am actually experiencing Chemical pregnancies? Do I need a blood test? I may sound naive but I am trying to exhaust all avenues.

Anyway, it was therapeutic reading all of your posts and I wish each and every one of you that long awaited result!!It is so hard when no-one else relates so places like this are a haven. Hubby just thinks I am being a witch (that's not the actual word but you catch my drift)

Apologies for the long post but I needed to vent.

Best wishes and babydust to all XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

    Hi Everyone!!

Shelbee - Im sorry to hear you have had a rough trot. I have also had 2 x laps and given the 'lets try natural' apprach after the surgey, but with no luck. With your awful TWW before period, my suggestion is that this is normal premenstrual. It is possible that you may be having chem preg's, in which case though your body will not be officially pregnant (or the embryo feeding from the endometrium) until after implantation. At this time your period is normally due. So yes, it could be one or the other. The only way to test from chem preg's is to do hpt anytime from dpo10 and onwards. But I am not a fan of these tests as they are extremely unreliable and could only cause you heartache anyway.

Wow Bella - a surprise weekend away you lucky girl. Hope you have a good one. Am glad to hear you will move to IVF - as i will have a friend to join me!!! (selfish I know..)

OP - please dont leave us!! Please still hang around and offer your advice. I would love to follow your preg journey so please let me know if you move to another thread...

Babysteps - how exciting you are ready to go!!! Good luck with your trigger and iui procedure!!!

WannabeaMum - you need a prog test on Day 21. I certainly hear you patience wise good luck for the au natural! Fingers crossed you wont need to go to IUI next month...

Toby - I am surprised to hear your clinic is using prog pessaries, as mine used the hcg injections. Having said that though I will be on these after my IVF cycle, I think my dr said they work a little better. Cant help you otherwise Im sorry, I am hoping for zero side effects of course.

AFM - still sniffing away on the syranel. Starting fsh injections tonight on 150iu. So not much to report on here.....

janeo - good luck for your IUI! Sounds like you OI cycles have certainly warmed you up for this - not sure how it is different for you - where you doing OI and timed intercourse before?? Good luck hun.... you will find a wealth of knowledge here with these lovely ladies so pipe up whenever you have a question.
Yeah we have been timing our intercourse.. So i have my scan to ensure there isn't too many follies and then wait until we get a +ve OPK then BD from that night for the next 3 days... But unfortunately after 4 goes we still can't fall pg GRRRRRRRRRR..... My Dr made the decision to go IUI before IVF, being that my husbands sperm is AOK, and im actually ovulating so they are just avoiding my mucus and getting it right up there with all the dodgey spermies gone !!!!

They can't really find any reason why it isn't happening... I keep getting the old "relax" or "go on a holiday" and it will happen They just don't get it... Last month we did go on a holiday for 4 nights ovulated on our last day had plenty of sex, relaxed by the pool all the day the before Oing, and then it was Christmas again i was relaxed enjoying time with my family and i still didn't fall pg ....

So im off for my scan on Monday i have started using the OPK's just incase but nothing which is what i was expecting..... So Monday i would expect to see 1 or 2 follies at 16mm and then i should ovulated on Wednesday so we will be heading to Ballarat bright and early to do that..... Im worried for DH more then myself but hey we will get there..

I want to wish all of you the best with where you are with your cycle.. I find it hard to keep up im not online that often.....

    Hello everyone!

I had my insemination yesterday, so I'm now in my second TWW. This time I'm fairly busy with work and life etc., so I'm hoping that makes it easier to keep myself distracted.

I love that my clinic shows the IUI procedure through an external ultrasound - it's so cool to see the tip of the catheter and then see the sperm being injected out of it... like watching shooting stars!

The other day I had to have my trigger injections (two pre-filled syringes worth!) and my partner wasn't home, so I had to self-inject for the first time ever. It was so scary but I did it, I'm really proud of myself for that.

My next step is a blood test next weekend, hopefully my hormones are doing the right thing this time because I really don't want to have to do the twice-a-day progesterone pessaries again - they are not conducive to having any intimate encounters!

    Hi Lovely Ladies!!

Babysteps - i have my fingers and toes crossed also that this cycle is the one. Good work with the self inject. I usually get hubby to do mine and he will be away all week so i will have a similar moment for myself coming up.....

Janeo - our diagnosis is very similar, - unexplained, hubbys sperm is great, I ovulate no problem, no tube blockage! Grr - it is so frustrating that almost 3 ys of ttc and no concrete answers. I do have mild endo, but every Dr I talk to is adament that the endo is not significant enough to affect my fertility. I know how you feel. I guess this is one of the reasons why an IVF cycle is the next natural progression for me, as they will be able to see exactly what is going on. Good luck for your scan today - hoping you get 2 x big fat follies!!!!

Hello to everyone and good luck wherever you are in your cycle.

diamond, good luck with the self-injecting. Just stay calm, I found it worked best by getting it on the right angle so I could hold the needle and push in the end one-handed (with my thumb) and hold my belly with the other hand.

I've got 3 or 4 pregnyl injections to do in the next week or so - combined with the acupuncture I feel like my stomach is turning into a pincushion.

Hello to everyone and good luck wherever you are in your cycle.
OMG i could have written that word for word...... I have mild endo too but got told by both Drs that wouldn't cause any problems GRRRR!!!!!! Soooooo frustrating but hey we will both be pg very soon... I need some help to ovulate although i do but could be as late as day 29 of my cycle and honestly no one can have sex every 2nd day for sooooooooooo long LOL!!!!!!! We talked about how many IUI's we would do, she thinks but not sure as Dr didn't write notes about how many before IVF, anyway she said 2 or 3 before we look at IVF which im happy with 3 goes but im sure ill only need 1 !!!!

Well i had my scan all good had 2 follies, 1 was 19mm and the other 15mm so we are hoping the bigger one holds out a bit longer so they both release... I did a OPK before and im getting a line so i expect it to be Wed or maybe Thur we have the IUI done....

Thanks Babysteps - did my 1st self injection last night under Hubbys supervision. Didnt go very well- I chickened out 1st stab and pulled it out. Had to stab again. And then couldnt reach the top of the pen with my thumb, so it felt like the pen was in forever. But tonight will be better - Ill try the right angle approach. How are you feeling after IUI?

Janeo - sounds like we have a lot in common ttc wise. Hoping of course this is your 1st and last iui, and by the sounds it you are in with a great chance this cycle! Did you have another scan/bloods today? Follies (apparently) grow around 2mm everyday, so the 19mm is ready and ripe to go, and the 15mm will be ready today/tomorrow. Sounds like you will have 2 eggs and therefore a very high change!! My 1st IUI I had 2 x 19mm follies, and the cycle ended in a chem preg which is the closest we had got so far.

AS to how many cycles, I thought that given the 15-20% success rate, which is 1 in 5 chance, that i would need to do 5 cycles to get success. We did 3 before we got fed up and moved onto IVF. IUI does work of course, OP is a perfect example of this, but for us though it was just taking too long.

Diamond, the first time I tried to self inject I failed, I got it in a tiny bit and freaked out and withdraw the needle, so my partner had to finish the job. You'll get there, I think it gets easier. It's horrible that we have to get used to all these injections though!

I'm not really feeling anything right now, I did what I was told and avoided anything strenuous or heavy lifting for 2 days afterwards, now I'm back to normal and fine. I am keeping myself busy at work trying not to think about the TWW - my blood test is two weeks from today so the time between Saturday and now doesn't even count towards the two weeks!

Last time I was freaking out at every small thing, so I'm really focusing on being relaxed about it all this time around.

YEah we are very similar.... Nah i didn't have a scan today we live 1 1/4 from my Dr in Ballarat and Colac doesn't measure the follies so not worth it really, just had to wait for a +ve OPK and i got that this arvo !!!! So we are booked in tomorrow at 11:30 for DH to do his thing and then me at 2:15pm.... Im really excited and honestly think this will be our month 2009 is going to be our year ....... I asked about how many goes and she said 2 to 3 but we will talk to Dr if we get to that point, they and I are concerned about being on clomid for so long this is my 6th time since July last yr...

Bugger about the injections i don't know if i could do that i probably could if i had too but i would perfer someone else do it.... So where are you with this cycle?? Your doing IVF yeah??

    Smile Introducing myself

    Hi all
I am a new member of Belly Belly and new to the whole AI (iui) process. My husband and I have been trying for about 2 and a half years but have only just started with this.

We were married in Feb 2007 and live at Leongatha Sth in South Gippsland. I work as a Tourism Information Officer and my husband is a dairy farmer. We manage a dairy farm.

We are currently up to the first lot of needles and doing the AI on Friday. A bit nervous but not too bad.

Hope to chat to people and share my experiences. Good luck to everyone TTC
