    IUI Question

    Hi all
Being new to the whole assisted conception game, I was wondering if anyone can tell me. Is it ok to 'make love' whilst in the process of doing the Puregon needles before AI? LOL. I suppose it wouldn't get us pg anyway because of the timing.
Cheers and good luck to everyone.

Louise, the nurses at my clinic say we shouldn't have unprotrctrd sex during an iui cycle. Even though we're a same sex couple and couldn't get knocke up anyway

Thanks very much for your help Babysteps, I will follow your advice.
Yeh might be a tad hard for you then to conceive naturally LOL.

    Sex & Treatment

Folks, my clinics have never ruled out intercourse during treatment! We naturally chose not too because I was so uncomfortable from the injections and swollen ovaries. However, the one cycle we did go for it was the one where we got a BFP.

I say give Mother Nature every chance of success. You never know what the universe needs to get you across the line!

    Hi Louise, and welcome!

My clinic advised no intercourse 2 -3 days prior to IUI procedure. This was to ensure that hubbys sample would be the best possible. But after IUI, they actually encouraged it as much as often. Just remember to listen to your body and try to enjoy some part of the IUI process. Good luck.

    Thanks for your help

    Hi all
Thanks for your advice and answers to my questions. A lot of it is as I expected, i.e. not doing it before IUI to get the best results from hubby.
Appreciate your responses, wishes and kind welcome very much.
Good luck to you all. May you all get 's very soon

Hey guys, sorry it's been so long, I hate the TWW.

But there are a number of us in the TWW here atm! Good luck to babysteps, janeo and bella!
Shelbee - good luck and you can always vent here
Good luck with the self-injecting girls, my DH would never go near a needle so it's always me. He just says I'm the nurse! But while I may have done thousands of injections on other people, it's a completely different kettle of fish on someone else! Like waxing I think.
Louise - welcome! Your use of the term AI reminded me of DH's reaction when IUI was explained "so it's like AI with cows then". He grew up on the farm...
OP - sounds like things are going really well in your way atm, it's good to hear!

afm - not a lot to report, still in TWW. Day 10po today. AF usually around 14 days but has been 12-15 days po. I shall try to be patient. I had the d21 bt and my prog was 42! Best d21 I've ever had. I'm thinking I might try another natural cycle now that the naturopath's actually got me ovulating naturally. Hopefully I wont need to make that decision.

Have a great australia day everyone! Enjoy the weekend.

    Progs

WBM - great progs!!! 42 is excellent - means the luteus corpum is pumping out the good stuff. Hope all goes well over the next few days for you!

    Cheers,
    OP.

    Thanks and hi

Thanks Wannabemum and Blackduckies for your welcome and wishes for today.
Everything went smoothly and now just doing the waiting game like many others and looking after myself as much as possible.Should find out about the 6th of Feb.

I will have to find the page on acrynyms Nae was talking about because half of them that people write I don't know what they mean.

Blackduckies - I now work with Nae and she is one of the nicest people anyone could meet, bubbly and beautiful and has been nothing but supportive to me etc. I am so greatful she got me onto Belly Belly.

Wannabemum - yeh I understood AI myself but not IUI until i recently looked it up to find out the correct title etc. I think my DH still thinks of it as AI though as he understands that having been a dairy farmer since he was 15. LOL

Hope to chat some more to you both soon . Good luck with your IUI's xo

Not sure if in the right forum

    Hi everyone
Just realised this might not be the correct forum for me. 'Does LT TTC with IUI #4' mean number 4 baby or number 4 try at IUI? If either of these then I am probably in the wrong spot because we are only trying for our first and it is our first time with IUI. Perhaps it doesnt matter too much. At the end of the day we are all trying for the same thing, a beautiful child.

Take care and best wishes everyone.

Loops, I think this is the 4th TTC with IUI thread, so you're in the right place.
I think the admits close threads at 300 posts and start a new one with a higher number.

I am feeling really tired and miserable today, I just want to curl up in bed. It's annoying as I have things to do and people to see today.

    Thanks Babysteps

Cool - thanks for clearing that up Babysteps. I had wondered whether that be the reason as well.
Why so miserable and tired - could that be a good sign or do you try not to get to excited in case of let down?
Its a hard one, I think, whether to stay as positive as possible or not get hopes up too much.
Cheer up and have a rest I recon and tomorrow will be a new day.
    All the best!

Hi All - I'm not new to BB but I am new to this thread! Bimbo me didn't realise there was a thread related to IUI! I'm stoked there is! I've been floating random messages in other forums with not a huge amount of response. It's great to be in an area where everyone is going through the same treatment (in some one or another).

    Hey everyone *big wave*

I'm due AF in a couple of days and then on day 2 of my cycle I start FSH so that we can do IUI.

Very excited, very nervous and very anxious about it all.

    Hope that it works!!
Love that there is a thread here dedicated to IUI. I'm pretty sure that I'll have a lot of questions for you all.

Hi Baby2Bee and Sue, and everyone else. It's been a bit quiet in here lately.

I'm still working my way through the TWW - my FC are doing a blood test next Tues, so I only have 6 days to wait, but I'm so tempted to do a HPT before that, as I'm 11DPO today. The only thing stopping me is that I don't want a false result and I don't think I'd believe it either way until I have the blood test to confirm (or get AF).

I still don't know what caused my fatigue on Monday - perhaps I hadn't eaten enough or something. I have some minor symptoms, such as fatigue and darker nipples, but nothing that's really making me convinced that I am pg. Of course I want to be, but if this time around is a BFN I won't be too upset, as realistically it would be poor timing and I'll be able to enjoy the things that are planned better if I'm not pg.

    Hope everyone is doing well.
