    Hi Lovelies,

Tasha - I can understand the fear of another catheter so I'd suggest you ask your FS about a valium before hand. Mine gives them before a FET so that uterus is nice and relaxed and does not spasm i don't see why the same wouldn't work for IUI and it might relax your cervix a bit more and make it less painful.

Saffy - I hope the night shifts weren't too tough. Have you decided what to do about your next EPU cycle?

Minnie - I think you will O on a decent day now and the spermies will be waiting. No idea if it is the vitex but maybe.

Mich - Seems we are all all over the place at the moment! Maybe the planets are affecting all our cycles! It is so confusing. I hope things start moving and you get your IUI soon.

Joeve - Are you in the TWW now? Will you be the first BFP we are looking for in 2012?

AFM - I had a nice Christmas. I have not totally decided about this cycle though my brother and I have started on a weight loss challenge with each other. I though AF was going to go completely awol but I started cramping and spotting this morning. I'm not expecting anything different to the last 5 months so I'll see how it goes as to whether I try this month or wait for IUI in Feb. My FS is away till the 9th so I won't be able to discuss it with him till then. Quick question, does anyone else do cervix checking? I don't usually but I did this morning and according to the book it should be low, dry and hard and it was the complete opposite! Any ideas?

Ooh Minnie, it sounds promising that you'll O soon! Yay
Sunbeam, sorry I can't help re the cervix position but I'm definitely with you on the weight loss challenge! I started about a month ago but am getting serious now. I hope this enthusiasm lasts

Mich8- damn difficult cervix's! Good luck with the weight loss challenge.

Minnie- I am not on metformin for the pcos, but I don't think I am insulin resistant either. Is that why metformin is prescribed? And yes I have a lack on EWCM, I have plenty of the lotion stuff, just no EW stuff, ever. I have had metronizadole prescribed 4 times in the past year for BV. It makes me feel so nauseas I hate it, but every time DH and I BD it seems to come back I haven't had a swab, but 2 different GP's say that's what it is and I get the symptoms of it too. Keep a close eye on those OPK's, you don't want to miss it! How cool if we had home x-rays so we could see exactly what is happening in there

Joeve- I always get really sore nipples the day before ovulation and about 5 days after too. I hope you caught the egg this time, FX

Sunbeam- I have a little phobia of valium or diazepam or any of those kind of pills. Maybe I can ask what he can do for me, it's a good idea though. Can't help you with the cervix checking, I haven't actually done it. Good luck with the weight loss challenge!

Sunbeam yay on the weight loss challenge I think I need to jump on board! No idea about cervix position although I have read that it can change throughout the day.
Tasha I think they must be able to give you something as the anxiety wouldn't be good for you x
Mini hope you o today and join me in the tww!
    Hello everyone else x

Well there is no doubt if I have ovulated this cycle, I have been in so much pain the last 3.5 hours, I swear my whole ovary feels like it is imploding (or should that be exploding, either way it's REALLY bad) !!

Well out of nowhere my OPK is positive tonight! Hopefully the IUI will be able to be organised in time and then I can join you - Joeve and Minnie in the tww.
Hopefully your unpleasant ovulation means you've produced a great egg Minnie

Hi girls, sorry for my absence but been having a bad week

mich- get busy in the bedroom!! Hope you catch the eggy

minnie- you too, get busy! Its annoying when opks aren't definate- its confusing enough.

joeve - hope your tww has a happy outcome!

tasha- we've been going for exactly 3years now- If I knew then what I know now...... urggh doesn't bear thinking about, lets just say I NEVER thought I would be in this position. So naive, we got utd the second month of trying but m/c, and the rest is history unfortunately. Lets hope we're not here in another year. Wow your Oing is all over the place, you poor thing.

sunbeam- no cervix checking here, I've got enough to do lol. I have decided to do a cycle which will happen start of Feb, I SOOO need a few weeks off.Goodluck w weight, I am going to eat ***** this week and be good as of next week. My EPU will be around 6th Feb, so hope we can be in tww together again with a better outcome.

afm-been feeling sad and stressed- depressed about failed cycles, working over xmas while everyone has fun, tired from night shift, family issues, etc, etc, so have been teary a lot. I need a few weeks off and spoke to clinic nurse today- can do an antagonist cycle for Feb and start the OCP today ( didn't do that at last clinic so was surprised) at least that will give me a few weeks of getting healthy and going to the beach, as well as working. i want to take a few weeks off for my next cycle, so will be able to in Feb but couldn't this month. really want to throw everything at this next stim and get a good result. Feeling a bit better that i have a plan.

    Hi girls

Saffy - I'm sorry you have been feeling down sweetie, it is such an exhausting and emotional time of year I think it is a great idea to take a few weeks off. I found IVF the hardest part of all of this so I think preparing physically and mentally is really important. I hope we will still be TWW buddies too with the perfect outcome.

Mich - When is your IUI? Good luck

Minnie - Sending good vibes for your I hope your poor little ovary is feeling better.

Tasha - Feb will be 4 years of TTC for me, doesn't bear thinking about! Not sure what I would have changed I just hope the journey is worth it in the end. I saw a lady on 'One Born Every Minute' last week she'd been trying for 4 years with failed IVFs etc then with IVF she got pg and had triplets.

Joeve - I hope your TWW flies by and you start our New Year run of BFPs.

AFM - Well AF did arrive but it is nearly over so maybe 36-48 hours. It was still not normal, it was at least red this month but still no flow (TMI *alert* more like red CM all slippery and still no clots). How can I bleed with no lining shedding? I'm bemused. I will see FS on the 10th hopefully and see what he says. If he can give me something for a proper period then I'll take that and not try till IUI in Feb if he can't then I guess we've got nothing to lose! I just wish I understood what was going on, how my cycle can now be so spot on and regular and my period is now so different! On a positive note I've lost 1.3kg in my first 2 diet days

Saffy – I’m so sorry you’ve been feeling depressed. Thinking of you A few weeks off to focus on you will hopefully put you in a really good place for your next cycle.

I was feeling the same way around Christmas. I kind of feel that we have the right to get really down sometimes. I try not to fight it – but the last time it really dragged on. I know many of you have been TTC longer than me – do you find anything helps to pull yourself out of a slump or do you just have to wait it out?

Sunbeam – Yes, your period sounds very bemusing! Hopefully the FS has some answers. Also, that's fantastic about the weight loss. I’ve been too scared to weigh myself since July!

Tasha – Can you imagine how many sticks we must have peed on in total? Hopefully this ebay order will be your last.

AFM – I had my IUI this arvo (Thurs) – it went so much more smoothly than the first one and my partner had an impressive sperm count this time. I'll be spending the next 2wks trying to maintain the right balance of cautious optimism! Joeve and Minnie –If you two would like to lead the way with the BFPs, I’ll gladly follow!

i am glad this year is nearly at an end & i know others here feel the same, i won't tell you all that next year will be our year (although i hope it is !) because by the very nature of this being the long term ttc thread we have thought that in previous years so im going to give everyone a big and will quietly keep my fingers crossed there are better times ahead for us all

    Hi Lovelies,

I know the odds are we will not all have sticky BFPs by this time next year but the odds are also that some of us will and that is enough to put a smile on my face, that even if I'm not one of them, that some of the loveliest, strongest and, in my opinion, most deserving women will have the joy they have been waiting so long for. I couldn't have got this far without you all.
So Bring on 2012 and bring on the BFPs
    Happy New Year XXX

Sunbeam you are right, we have had some miracle bfp's in here this year & we r a small group (8 in here right ?) so we should get a good percentage of those 8 people getting their bfp in 2012 :-)

    Hi Girls,

Saffy - When are you going away to the beach. You must be sooo ready for a rest you have worked heaps.

Joeve, Minnie, Mich, Tasha (?) how are all our TWWers going?

I'm glad everyone managed to have a few drinkies for New Years.

AFM - Well here it is, 2012, my last year of TTC. There is some weird relief in knowing that by this time next year, if not sooner, I will no longer be living my life in 2 week blocks! I've fairly much decided to try this cycle just because there is really nothing to lose, unless FS has a different plan, but I have no intention of stopping the exercise or diet (or the drinking I will do when I go to visit my bestie on the 21st Jan).

On a sad note I lost my little fish today. I know he's only a goldfish but I'd had him for 5 1/2 years (his tank mate is 8!) and I will miss him.
