    Hi Ladies

Joeve - I've always had 2 put back (I'm 33). My last 2 transfers we got 2 singleton pregnancies. 1st pregnancy is my now DD2 soon to be 1 and my second was a BO.

My reasoning was that it gave me an increase in % of pregnancy. Only by about 1% but 1% is still 1% more than if I had just put the 1 back.

Vic - How come you have to wait till the 8th?

    Hi :-)

    Hi everyone !

I'm a n00bie around here - long term member - non frequent poster. I've just copied and pasted my intro from the other non active thread (LTTTC Clomid/Metformin)into here and hope you don't mind.

And I am hoping I am posting in the right place

I'm struggling atm on my first cycle of Clomid and full of questions so will post my intro now and come back later with a few more q's

    Hi!

I am Vicki - 27- mumma to a little man who is turning 4 on Sunday.

I have been on Metformin on and off for 5 years, when I was first prescribed I lost 10 kg in about 10 weeks and was very ill - and actually turned out I was pregnant Started back on Metformin about 12 mnths ago = only taking 500mg of the prescribed 1500mg I was suppose to take. I am slowly building up and I think I'm at about 750-1000mg atm.

I have long term PCOS and Insulin Resistance. I started on Provera in Dec after having LLETZ done in early Nov - was unknowingly 6-8wk UTD at the time - suffered a m/c on the 2/12/11.

Started Clomid this cycle - on 50mg taking from days 4-8 inc. Am currently on cd12. Have to go for BT on cd21.

I've lost 8 kg since the middle of Jan (not that you can notice it IMO) and hoping this will help get things into working order.

I started charting using FF this cycle (with backup info on iPeriod).

I don't understand the concept of the whole mucus thing *excuse the TMI coming up* ??

    How do you measure it??
How can you tell the difference btw what is mucous and whats residual left over sperm coming out (sorry I had to ask as I have no idea)
My cycles since starting provera are usually 30-31 days...
When should I start using OPK's?
    When does the TTW start??

    TIA

Lyra good luck with this cycle, I really hope this one gets you your BFP. I know what you mean about the gym I think it does help keep your endorphins up, but i always worry about doing too much or not enough! Haaa haaa maybe just keep it light.

Good luck to you all where ever you are in your cycles.

    Love to you all

There are so many of us in the TWW!!!! Surely something +ve coming our way

and welcome SLMOO (cause I'm not typing your whole name everytime!

I found the CM difficult to track, but have started getting better the more rounds of IVF I do - esp since my cycle in Jan - where for the first time I actually SAW the EWCM - it was very stretchy! I don't measure it exactly - just record what type it is and what colour - it's not very objective, but if you just start noticing what's happening, eventually you start seeing patterns. and TBH, I find that I actaully have to reach right up to my cervix to get ANYTHING that even looks a bit stretchy..... (and I didn't even know whaat my cervix felt like until about 12 months ago.... she gave me a fright the first time I felt her!!! )

sorry to be a negative nancy (and I'm not sad or miserable about it... just matter fact), but I am totally expecting to be on the weight loss journey next week.
Still BT on monday will tell.
enjoy the day off tomorrow.... although miserable cold weather in melbourne so we will be inside packing stuff up - as we are getting new carpet on thursday.....

Myturn - Sorry to hear that you have the second week blues. I hate them. The first week is always the best time of ttc. The rest of it pretty much sucks. The lead up to the BT is so nerve wracking We will all be here either way.

Planetsasha - Welcome back! Yay for AF. Good luck for tomorrow.

Welcome SLMOO - Not too sure on the cm. I cant ever work it out much either. Some months I can, but when on clomid I have no hope as it dries me up. If your 30-31 days then probably start on cycle day 16-17. If your luteal phase is 14 days you should ovulate 14 days before AF arrives. You want to test before you ovulate so that you can pick up your surge on the OPK stick. I found using one twice a day works for me, however most people use them once a day. The surge is 24-36 hours before you ovulate so you can BD and have the sperm waiting for the egg.

Porche - My clinic always make me wait 2 weeks +1 day. Ugh. I have in the past had my BT done earlier as I couldnt wait anymore and my DH would be away when the results come in.

Hi to everyone else. It feels like winter is here

AFM - We have decided that since we missed out on the business we would start up our own business. My DH is a licenced builder so we will combine a gardening and home maintenance business and see if we can earn money. Its still scary, but I feel like I really have to support DH as he has supported all my IVF drama. Bless him We will do it together and at least this way he will be at home from now on. He just got told that they have a house to build 4 hours away and will take over 6 months, so the plan is to get him home as soon as we can get it up and running.

    Hi Ladies

I got the resutls of our other embies.

We have 6 frosties. The other 7 died . Bit disapointed in that but atleat there are 6.

    They are:
    3AA
    3BB
    7BB
    4BB
    4BB
    4BB

So I was told they grade them like this. The number is graded 1-7. 7 being the closest to hatching and the best.

The first letter means the cells on the outside of the embie that will form the placenta and the graded A being the best and c the worst.

The second letter grades the incer cells that will form the baby and same grading scale as the placental cells.

MrsMac - I'm so sorry. Hugs to you.

Vic - Wow that's a long time to wait for yourBT. Crazy. I'd be tairing my hair out. Good luck for starting the business.

    Hi and welcome to SLMOO.

How do you measure it?? You don't measure it as such. What I find easiest is I study the toilet paper after I wipe and your fertile CM looks exactly like egg whites. Clear and stretchy. If you stretch it in the TP it will stretch a couple of CM or so. You'll find you have more after a bowel movement.

How can you tell the difference btw what is mucous and whats residual left over sperm coming out (sorry I had to ask as I have no idea). Here are some ways to tell the difference between EWCM and semen:
EWCM is stretchy: EWCM is very elastic. If you put it between your fingers, it will stretch without breaking apart. Semen, on the other hand, doesn’t stretch and will break apart if you put it between your fingers and try to stretch it.
EWCM is slippery and clear: While semen may feel slippery as well, it looks white and cloudy. Not clear, like EWCM. EWCM is more transparent and feels very slippery.
EWCM does not absorb easily: If you look at the toilet paper when you use the bathroom and notice mucous on the toilet paper, you can tell if it is actually mucous by waiting a few minutes. If it is semen it will quickly absorb into the toilet paper, whereas EWCM generally will sit on top of the toilet paper.
EWCM will form a ball in water: When you go to the bathroom, let the mucous drop into the toilet water. If it turns into a ball and sinks, it is most likely EWCM. If it dissolves into the water, it is most likely semen.

My cycles since starting provera are usually 30-31 days...
When should I start using OPK's? I had long cycles on clomid. 35 days or so. I would start using OPK's on CD9. I found I would O any where between CD16 - CD22. I would do them at around 5pm when I got home work. I would usually have my LH surge at around that time. If you find that you can't detect your LH surge try testing at different times of the day. 2pm being the best. But NEVER first thing in the morning. You will always have some LH in your system so you will always have 2 lines on your OPK. MAke sure the test line is as dark or darker than the control line for it to be a positive.
When does the TTW start?? Your TWW will start the day after you have ovulated. So for example if you O'd on CD16, CD17 would be the beggining of your TWW.

    Hope that helps

Porsche lovely number and sad about the 7

Fingers crossed for those getting BT results x

Our day 3 update has all 4 as grade 1, and one is at partial compacting morula which meant to be good although I don't know!

Joeve compacting is very good. My last transfer (FET) I had 1 compacting and 1 hatching and compacting embie and I got a BFP out of that TF. Short lived though.
