LT TTC and Assisted Conception Apr-May 2012

Hi girls
Not sure if I'm in the right thread as I never know if this one is for AC in general or just those who've been TTC with AC for over 12 mths?!

Anyway, we are TTC #2 with IVF and haven't told anyone IRL (except my direct manager at work, who is TTC #1 with AC). So, I just wanted to 'chat' with some girls who understand It's hard to keep it all to yourself.
Do feel free to point me elsewhere though if this is the wrong thread!!

We are doing a HRT FET at the moment and transfer is Wednesday. It's so strange this time around, as it seems like the world's 'easiest' FET - at my first US my lining was 7.2mm, which was waaay better than it had ever been before, even on the FET where we got pg with DD. The clinic was very excited! Last time I also needed HRT patches, as well as progynova, and it took about 2 weeks of scans before I was finally ready for transfer. This time I had just the one US and they said "Ok, transfer is on Wednesday next week!". It was a nice surprise. But, I shall try not to get too excited as we all know that these things rarely go to plan. And I don't want to set myself up for disappointment.

I cant remember how was asking about success rates??? But my FS told me last month that the stats are:

10% for bonking (his words not mine!)
16% for an FET and 36% for a fresh transfer. He said that the stats are calculated every 3 months.

I'm guessing they would be averages Amy because the stats vary so much depending on your age and the nature of your infertility problems.

My FS told me last Monday that 20% for a normal healthy youngish couple natural and with IVF 45-50%. My clinic seem to believe that they have almost the same success rates with stims and FET's. Anything to get my money, I think! How anyone gets pregnant natually is beyond me...

Hi Ladies

Sorry I have been AWOL again trying to keep my head together but getting really impatient now. Been waiting for AF to arrive since stopping Provera 21/4 its now Day 9 and no sign! Im so sick of waiting to get things started Finally the money is ready and now my body isnt playing the game. If AF isnt here tomorrow I have to call my clinic to arrange a bloodtest....all i want is my name on the list.

I apologise for the me post I am reading your posts too I promise. For those using Eostrogen pessaries I found it better to administer them rectally. Granted its not pleasant but I hate that constant gooey feeling down there IYKWIM, I was on them for 12 weeks with DH.

Oh my God those pessaries are REVOLTING! Apart from the waxy vajajay, they SMELT!! I felt like I had a putrid small emanating from my nether regions while I was on them. And they burnt holes in my knickers!! What's that about?? I requested pregnyl last cycle they were so gross. Not sure what this cycle will be..

Myturn I'm so sorry - good luck with the getting fit and before you know it you'll be back TTC.

AmyJb you gorgeous thing - I found the pessaries easy as - put them in (I couldnt even think about rectally but maybe that's just me) lie down for 30 - put tissues in my undies before standing up - run to the toilet and let the wax drip out (TMI sorry) and then get on with my normal day. No leaking, no smells - def no undue holes - that is freaky!!

oops! Yep the lay for half an hour is vital. I also use a panty liner or my knickers end up waxy, no holes so far though.

Anyone on metformin, do you keep taking it during the tww? I have assumed yes but forgot to ask the nurse the other day.
