    Hi all,

Just a quick hello, am kinda moving across from the TTC 6-12 month list, thought i'd dip my toe in this one...

Quick Summary: We're currently having a month off, having done 2 Ovulation Induction cycles. Had appt with FS today, he said they should have done the trick but haven't, so says it's now time to pull out the big guns and has recommended IVF with ICSI. DH and I were a teeny bit taken aback cos they normally do 3 OI cycles, so we were expecting a third, but the FS said given my age and that we've been trying for a year now, there is no time to lose. So (assuming this cycle is a dud) I'll spend next cycle getting ready and then dive in the following cycle.

All a bit daunting/scary cos don't know what to expect, but exciting too cos we are trying something new, so there's renewed hope! Hence joining you lovely ladies to get a feel for what it's like...

    Hey lovely ladies,

I've been missing in action for a few days and so much happens!!

Loops ~ that the scan shows something positive for you. If it were up to me, you would get a BFP just because you have been so much (and becuase your a lovely person)!!

Renee ~ When is your AF due? wishing you all the luck for this FET cycle. I also recommend that you try acupuncture - it really helped me relax and be put in the right frame of mind for the transfer too.

inshelligent ~ welcome!! This thread is really great with wonderfully supportive women. I have just completed my first IVF ET (last wednesday) and did'nt know what to expect at all (the FS didn't really say too much), but with the help of the women in here, I got through it!! that you get a BFP on your first cycle!!

JBM ~ that your next cylce is the one!!

Jilly ~ Goodluck with your transfer today! I'll see you in the TWW thread this afternoon!!

    to everyone else.

AFM – Went to see the FS this morning because I'm in a fair bit of pain in the abdomen - severe bloating, nausea, shooting pains etc. FS said that I had OHSS - I thought that it only really took hold after ETU - but that was 9 days ago, and yesterday / today is the worst. Anyway, he said that I should up my intake of fluid to 3 litres and drink MORE protein. The way I feel, I can't injest anything... Anyway, on the positive side, he said that it is most likely caused because I'm pregnant!! But he won't to a BT until next Wednesday because I had the FHS injection yesterday morning. So if the result of this pain is a BFT, I don't mind one bit!!

M2B sounds promising, i got OHSS a week after TF (so 10 - 12 days after EPU) and was a BFP! it ucually get worse with BFP, but you are also taking HCG boosters?? has he told you to stop these now?

Loops, thinking of you hun and sending you the very best for your scan today

    wishing everyone a speedy BFP.

    Thanks Ladies

Shell ~ Welcome and all the very best. Everyone in here is so supportive. I hope it works first go for you.

Mum-2-be ~ thats excellent news - will have everything crossed for you that at BT your dream comes true. Not about the OHSS though, hope the pain goes soon.

AFM ~ Well I had a truck load of blood but I survived the night. Bleeding and period like pain has subsided. So I think It was a miscarry and now I dont know whether I need to drive 2 hours for my scan and apparently my nurse is on a "blood run" so who knows if she'll even ring me back. Anyone got any suggestions - should I maybe ask someone at imaging?

What a horror night Loops I think you should get yourself to a doctor, just to make sure you don't have any more problems.

m2b - take care! OHSS is awful; the most painful thing ever. Mine developed right after EPU, but they kept telling me to take the booster hcg shots anyway....mismanaged it and made it worse. then I got pg and it got even worse still. Ended up in hospital for a few days with a tube in my stomach to drain all the fluid because it was in my lungs and I couldnt' breathe. Oh, but it was only a 'mild' case apparently!
    But...does sound promising. Fingers crossed.

Hope the EPU goes well melttc

All the best for your transfer today jilly

Hi to everyone else! Hope you're all doing well.

Gosh gone for a few days and don't know where to start!

Loops - I'm sorry honey, what a nightmare, I'm glad you have your answer either way now and can look towards the next step. Hope you are feeling ok, rest up!

m2b - crappy about the pain, but it will all be worth it if you get that BFP!

inshelligent - welcome, enjoy your month off before you start IVF/ICSI, if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask. I have done 2 cycles of it so i may be able to help.

melttc - Hope EPU went well today and those 5 follies grow into beautiful cells!! GL for Friday.

jilly - hope your transfer went well today. Rest up and i that embie sticks.

bj - hope you are feeling a bit better.

    JBM - Hi to you

Sorry to those i have missed (i think there are a few), hope you are all doing well.

ATM - AF came on saturday which was good but bad!! Had BT today and levels have all returned to normal. So begin BT's on Day 12, which will be next wed, and we will prepare for FET. This is my first FET so it will be nice not too be sniffing and injecting for once. Justour little blast survives the thaw!!!

Loops ~ Hope the pain has subsided and you are ok now. Thinking of you . I agree with Marcellus in that you should go and see a doctor to ensure everything is ok.

M2b ~ hope you are feeling better. Keep up the fluids. I really hope this is first sign of a BFP. Have my fingers and toes crossed for you.

Terry, Tantee & Marcellus ~ hope you are all well.

Inshelligent ~ welcome to this thread. Here’s hoping your 2nd OI cycle yields a BFP and you don’t have to join this thread after all. Goodluck.

Juniper ~ Trust the lap went well today. Hopefully you are not too sore. Take care of yourself.

Hi to everyone else I may have missed.

AFM ~ Well EPU was today and to my surprise we managed to collect 5 eggs from 5 follicles. Yay! So now it’s the waiting game to see how many of these fertilise. ET is booked for 10 am on Friday. I was hoping to squeeze in some acupuncture before the transfer but I may be strapped for time.....arrghhh

Sorry no persies as feeling pretty awful but hopefully will be back to normal soon.

    Goodluck to everyone

    The rollercoaster continues...

    Hi ladies
Terry and Marcellus ~ thanks so much for your prayers etc. Hope you are both well!

Renee ~ thanks hun. Happy AF arrived for you so you can do your FET. Would be good not to have to do the sniffing and jabbing. FX and for the thaw.

Melttc ~ thanks to you 2 hun. That is excellent news that you got 5 eggs! FX and they all fertilise and reach ideal quality!

Lairdoz ~ thats great news you have 7 still doing well. Will have everything crossed that they continue to do well and make it to blasty! Sorry you're in pain though, hoping like crazy its all worth it for you in the end hun xoxo

AFM ~ Spoke to the nurse this morning and went to my scan because she said it could still be ectopic even though I bled heaps
To our surprise and the lady doing the ultrasound I think, there was something evident in the uterus and the correct size that it should be for this stage of my cycle. She also said my cervix is still closed so another good sign, although she did stress that she didnt want to get my hopes up. The other good thing is that there is [U]no[U] evidence of ectopic - pheww what a relief! I was very happy about that. Havent heard the FS opinion of all of the results yet and I guess will have to have more BT's and possibly another ultrasound depending on BT's.

Jilly - Thanks for your thoughts. I hope everything went well with your transfer today.

melttc - Thanks for the hug That's such a good result! Hope you are feeling ok and taking it easy. FX they are all little fighters!

Tantee - Hope you are feeling a bit better. It's ok to feel crappy....this is crappy!

inshelligent - Welcome! Even though I'm sorry any of us have to be in here at all! But all the girls are wonderful and it is such a warm and safe place to be. But I hope your stay with us is a short one. GL with your journey ahead. We will do what we can to help you through

M2B - FX that it is pg related!! But take care of yourself ok. Will be waiting for good news.

Renee - Yay! Glad that you are getting somewhere now. FET's are definitely much easier and less stressful than full stim, only positive thoughts ok! FX

Hi to everyone else, hope you are all doing ok wherever you are.

AFM - Well I had my meltdown but am doing ok. Thanks for all your messages xxx
Decided not to sit around feeling sorry for myself, we have decided to sell our house and downsize so we can afford another round or 2, have enrolled in a massage course that starts in May and then probably do my diploma in shiatsu and oriental therapies starting Sept, going to keep myself busy but busy doing something that I WANT to do. Will hopefully be able to fit in the stim cycle next month before my course starts. I can't change whats gone but am looking forward with all the positivity I can muster! Sorry about the ridiculously long post.....

Loops so happy that there is still hope and that your body seems to be doing the right thing. I guess the nurse wouldn't have told you all those things if it wasn't true so stay positive and I'm sure she has seen so many scenarios in her time. When are you seeing your FS again. Stay postive and I know this is hard but please try not to stress

bj*81 sounds like you have a great plan to go forward with..I think that this always help keep us a bit normal

Melttc that all your eggs fertilse and good luck with the transfer...try and do acupunture on Thursday or staright after it should still be ok

Lairdoz hope your feeling better soon and good luck for Saturday

To the rest of the girls stay strong and we will all get there soon I'm sure

    Thanks lovely ladies

BJ ~ Im glad youre keeping yourself busy that is what I am trying to do. I know if this is not successful I will be focussing on getting more money too and also doing some things ive been talking about doing. Hope you get to squeeze in that cycle hun xo

AFM ~ Im not getting any hopes up thats for sure and not going to stress anymore either. Forgot to say there was no heart beat yestie although it could be too early for that. After all the bleeding ive had etc Im not holding my breath though, just happy its not ectopic. If we end up with a nice surprise obviously that will be wonderful but right now my thinking is that this time is not it but we will get there before long. Im supposed to be on Crinone but Ive run out. So I need to get some somehow - need to talk to nurse again.

Terry ~ My next FS appointment is on 25 March - so not far away which is good.

Thanks once more for all your wishes and prayers everyone. xoxo
