kass - Thanks hun. You're right. I am a control freak and I kind of hate not having any control, but now I'm not in and out for BT's and scans I feel semi-normal again.

    Hi everyone x

I can't believe how well they have done...Very happy. Trying to have a chilled night, but work is massive at the mo. So tired and feel we should be celebrating.
Does anyone know how long after EPU the bloatedness should ease? Still painful after op. I'm hooping that fades soon too. I want my body back in tip top shape ready for next cycle.....come on body!

Stress no barrier to IVF success

    Julia Medew
    February 26, 2011

STRESS does not affect a woman's chance of getting pregnant with IVF, research has concluded.

Doctors from Cardiff University in Britain examined 14 studies involving 3583 infertile women undergoing fertility treatment to see if anxiety levels and depression measured before treatment were linked to the outcome of a successful pregnancy or not. No link was found between the two factors.

A report on the research published in the British Medical Journal yesterday said although many women believed emotional distress contributed to their infertility and lack of success with treatment, this review showed it was not the case. The authors also noted that it debunked the fertility myth that relaxed women conceived more easily than other women.

''This [allows] doctors to reassure women that feelings of tension, worry or depression experienced as a result of their fertility problem, its treatment, or other co-occurring life events are unlikely to further reduce their chance of pregnancy,'' the authors wrote.

However, they said more should be done to help couples through infertility treatment because it was often arduous, causing about a third of people to drop out prematurely.

A cycle of IVF typically involves nine to 12 days of self-injection to stimulate egg production, followed by retrieval of eggs, fertilisation of those eggs with sperm, and then implantation of the embryo into the woman's uterus.

According to the Fertility Society of Australia, about one in six Australian couples experience infertility and about 10,000 IVF babies are born each year in Australia.

    Hi Ladies
Just another quick one. I stuggle to keep up lately. Because I wont be doing any IVF in the immediate future its hard to get on here all the time, hearing everyone getting excited. But that's not too mean I am not excited for you all because I am! I hope for the best for each and every one of you!!

Thanks for that article N2L - thought it was just a crock that stress can be a barrier!

Goodluck everyone - Hoping to see lots more BFP's in here very soon.

Tantee ~ I know how hard it is, try and take one day at a time if you can and dont go nuts reading heaps of stuff on the internet as I did that and it made me mental. and for you!! Your HCG sounds pretty good to me, all the best hun for the next scan.

AFM ~ I started to get a tiny bit hopeful because I am only at CD29 and usually my cycle are 34days and Ive had some spotting, was hoping it might have been implantation spotting but it seems to be getting worse On a positive note, I had a job interview Thursday, which went very well. Now just wait and see time, if I get it.
