For the past day and a half I have had the smallest amount of bleeding but just when I wipe. No need for a tampon at all.
Not sure whether to count this as AF??
The reason it's a problem is I am meant to have BTs on day 2.
I had that too N2L for my first line up, since my cycle was so long. I was supposed to have a scan on day2 but they decided it wasn't worth it. They did count it as AF though. Perhaps ring your clinic. Some AF are really light for me (why wear a pad), some normal. I would definately call the clinic if your in the second day of it.
Hi N2L - from what the nurses have said to me they only count day one when you have FULL AF, seems to me this is only spotting??
Just my thoughts but I would wait till it gets heavier but it depends whats heavy for you??
Question - For those of you who have had multiple BFN's and dont know why, have you ever asked about testing for NK cells and all that sort of stuff?
And for those of you who have been tested what sort of tests are done? Are they blood tests? I have a FS appt next Thursday and feel very frustrated and am looking for answers.
Thanks guys! I rang FS and if I am still having bleeding tomorrow I have to have bt.
Vic, I have asked about NK cells but there are only a handful of FS in Australia who believe they have any effect on conception. My FS says (and I quote!) it is BS. I know that you need to have a biopsy to test though, not just BT.
With regards to other tests, there are a whole heap you can do testing for genetic abnormality or chromosomal issues. I had them done mid last year. It is all through BT.
On phone now but can hunt down list later.
If your FS is anything like mine they will put your BFNs down to age. Which sucks because there is no treatment for that
Vic - I was tested for NK cells when I had my cyst removed, my FS found that mine were elevate & has since been treating me for them. I know there aren't many FS that believe that they are an issue but mine does so fingers crossed the treatment has worked
I think he is putting it down to age. He looks at me and tilts his head to the side and says "wellllll, you are 41". Apart from that he is really lovely, and I am probably more sensitive to his every mannerism. I may ask him for the blood test for other stuff though. Would be good to rule that out I guess.
Glad you rang your clinic. What are you testing for, if you dont mind me asking?
Planetsasha, I have my FX for you that it does sweetie x
Ive thought about having mine tested but I would have to change clinics. Then there would be a wait for the biopsy (not to mention the extra cost ) I'm just not sure if it is worth the chance (for me!) iykwim.
Me either. If I had of know about it in my first attempt, I would have had it done when I had my polyp removed and my D&C. Didn't even know about it back then. But cant justify it now.
What about assisted hatching? Any thoughts on that? Any success stories???
Not too sure on the fsh, but thats a great AMH. Time is on your side too it would seem
Mine was 15.8 back in Sept last year. I think I am ok time wise, but DH is freaking out he will be 60 and have a 18 year old at home lol. He says we are going to be the oldies at Kindy and I said hunny, we are all getting older. There are heaps of us older women trying for babies. I guess he is so exhausted from work and he wonders how he will do it all. I said "as if you will be the one getting up through the night, who are you trying to kid" lol.
I still feel young enough, but know that in 10 years time it could be a different story. I have a 50 year old friend with a 10 year old and she is so exhausted all the time. Having said that her 10 year old is the last of 6 kids, so she has done it tough for a long time.
ANA - Anti-Nuclear Antibody, anticardiolipin ab, antithrombin 111, karyotype, lupus anticoagulant, protein C and S, prothrombin gene mutation, factor V leiden/APC resistance, CA125, Thyroid Stimulating Hormone, Prolactin, Progesterone,
Oestradiol, Luteinising Hormone, FSH, SHGB, Glucose (fasting), insulin fasting, DHEAS, 17 hysroxyprogesterone, sensitive testosterone. It was six vials of blood all up.
planetsasha - congrats on the blasty! glad the clexane is going ok. i still get the occassional small bruise too doing them in the love handles, but not nearly as much as doing them in the stomach. what do you use to treat your nk cells, antibiotics or something?
mrs mac - my bt is scheduled for monday, but might see if they will let me get it done friday - cant stand waiting! noticed you have 2 beagles... how cute are they? (and naughty, untrainable etc!)
vic - like n2l, i had a whole barrage of tests (just bt's - karotype, clotting disorders etc, around 10 vials or something ) last year to try and find a reason. i requested these myself. i was kind of disappointed that nothing was found (ridiculous i know). my fsh is within normal range, amh is 33 though, just outside of normal on the high end. ive read that high amh can indicate pcos, but i dont have that either. we have good quality embryos & have had 2 early miscarriages, so im hoping that the clexane with help with that. i know there is differing opinions with FS's about clexane too, but i am at a stage where i will try anything. ive heard aspirin can help with implantation too, but havent tried it. im interested in trying for a hatching blast, but havent read up about assisted hatching yet. btw, 50 is the new 30 - so you and your dh will be fine.
n2l - i am with melb ivf too, did your FS tell you they wont test for nk cells, or melb ivf just dont do it at all? i was thinking about getting mine tested, you never know i guess. i was thinking more of the bt option, rather than the biopsy option (ouch!). i know the biopsy is supposed to be more accurate, but still, the less attention in there the better for me. i was reading today about recurrent miscarriage and elevated nk cells. but with like everything on the internet, it seems for every research study you find in support, there is one that disproves the study.
I was under the impression that no one at MIVF is into the whole nk cell thing and that I would need to see Nick Lolatgis at Monash. I could be wrong though....
Either way, my current FS is totally unconvinced about them.
