Vic- wow he is blunt, thats unfair to say that to you when you are vulnerable anyway. ITs not your fault, I started late in life too, only met my man when i was 35, its not our fault. Also heaps of people get utd at 40 via ivf, and many older women use egg donors so there are other options there for you. HUGS chick x

Saffy I've just called the clinic and left a MSG for one of the nurses to call me back. I'm feeling a teeney tiny bit better, haven't vommited since this morning but I'm still feeling very nauseous and sore. Will just ask the nurse if it's normally to be feeling like this. I managed to get about 3 bites of toast down and about 4 sips of water :(
Thanks girls. I met my DH at 38 and we got married last Easter. I didn't think I would ever get married or have the opportunity to have a child, so feel like this carrot is dangling just out of my reach. If its not going to happen, stop dangling the stupid carrot!!!

There's so much expectation for women these days to have careers and stuff as well, and you feel like you're supposed to do it all!!! It's hard to find someone that suits you and that you feel you could spend the rest of your life together.
I still feel hope for you Vic, it hasn't really been that long! and as Saffy said - there's lots of options still.
AFM - this is novel - I got a text message from the clinic confirming my appointment with Dr at 10.10am tomorrow.... dunno how the eggies are going, but there must be something in the bunch!!!! Text is weird... but anyway... at least I know it's happening!!
A text??? Thats something new. I would call the lab and ask about your eggies :)

Vic - i'm amazed your FS put that too you so soon, you're 40 and sure stat's change, but it's not like you've been through so many ivf cycles yet. Surely the FS needs to give you 100% effort and knowledge before jumping on the age bandwagon. Be realistic yes, but offensive and insensitive no! :comfort:
Saffy, am with you...EPU 07/02/12, but not until midday. US went well today, 17 follies, 5 >13mm. The nurse said there's another 4 close and hopefully they'll catch on in the next few days, but really, no guarantee's of eggies inside until EPU so not going to get my head too set on those numbers. Made that mistake last time, thinking i'd get a haul of 10-12 and only ended up with 6, of which only 2 we're viable! Definitely won't allow myself down that path of unexpected disappointment again.
Again, MissB, so so happy for you. You're the first BFP since i joined in the chatter which is so lovely to see!!

Amy - oh Hun it sounds like you are having an awful time at the moment, I hope it gets better and they don't have to cancel, but as my DH says your health is more important, but I hate hearing it when he says it so you are probably thinking the same of what I wrote. Have the nurses called back yet?
Vic - it is aweful to be told that by your FS, as much as we all know we may have to face that reality possibly it is never something easy to digest and I am so sorry. I so hope in the time you have left to do ivf that it works for you :-) hugs
Myturn I couldn't be as patient as you I would want to know everyday how they are going, could on you though for being able to leave it with the scientist and just wait and see, that takes self control :-)

AFM - had appointment with FS and I had my first jab again, let the hormonal, *****y(according to DH) rollercoaster begin. I am a bit stressed out. I have a good boss and she is organizing for me to not have to travel while I am doing this I had already booked a day trip on the 13th to Sydney which should have been in the first week of meds, but since sf came early it is the day before she is looking at egg pickup and FS does not want me to stress myself and fly. So now I am going to have to get someone else to do my appointment and it's a complicated one. It sucks, you need a job to pay for all this but it would be so much more simpler if you didn't have to work argh!!!!
Well I think thats enough rambling for me hope everyone is doing ok today and coping with whatever your day has brought you.

And Amy - so sorry that things arent looking good for ET. I was devasted when mine was cancelled this week for siilar symptoms as you. I hope you wont be in the same boat as me but if you are then all I can say is that I'm so very sorry. :(

Hi girls, have just spoken to the nurse my embryo transfer is tomorrow at 9.30am. They said if my vomiting continues or I can't get any fluids down then I need to go to my local emergency room and have an IV drip put in :( they also asked if I want to just have the pre med tablet tomorrow or if I want a general anesthetic and be knocked out all together. I said I would wait and see what the doctor recommends tomorrow. Last time my egg transfer was extremely painful but if I have the general then DH can't be in there when I have it done :(
Fingers crossed I start to feel a bit better. I was meant to be working at the travel expo tomorrow, just spoke to my 2 bosses and they were fabulous and told me not to worry and to focus on the more important thing. Also just found out that one of the girls I work with commited suicide last night :(
Also vic when you update me on the list can you pls put blood test is 15 feb xxx
Amy do glad you can go ahead with transfer tomorrow but it sounds like a really hard decision to make, hope you feel well enough to be able to be awake and it doesn't hurt to much.
Glad your bosses were so good but am so sorry to hear about the other sad news :-(

Amy, GL tomorrow hunni. I'll tell you a quick story...when I did my FET in 2009, I was sooooooo anxious about it, having lost my first pg 12 months before, that I actually had my very first anxiety attack and I honestly thought I was dying. Very high BP, cold sweats, dizzy spells you name it, I almost passed out at work. Just the thought of possibly going through another loss made me feel ill, but I knew I had to risk it (my loss was actually non IVF related, but the fear just never left). I called the nurse and told her what happened (this was a Thursday and my transfer was booked in for Saturday morning) and she said, oh yes, you're having an anxiety attack, pretty normal blah blah blah. Anyway, I went in on the Saturday morning and even though I felt like sh**, the FET worked :o So even though you're not feeling 100%, your body CAN DO IT!! Will be thinking of you and crossing everything too :pray:
Vic, I am so sorry your FS is such a tosser!!!! Where are you hun? I have a fantastic FS here in Melbourne (I went with Monash IVF) and he never ever made me feel old (I'm 41, almost 42, started seeing him as a FS in 2007). He's one of those people that makes you feel anything is possible! The only thing he did say to me this time around, was that he can guarantee he'll get me the eggs, but he can't guarantee the quality now. I really appreciated his honesty.
Kerbear, you have a fantastic boss hun! It sure helps when you're going through IVF.

I hope you don't mind me joining in, I have been reading your posts for awhile & I just wanted to say congrats to Miss B! I was so glad to see you got your BFP:clap:I kept checking the thread all afternoon with my fingers crossed for you! It gives me some positive thoughts as I head into my first cycle of IVF.
I am new to this forum thing so I hope you will bear with me. A quick version of my story is DH & I have been trying to conceive for around 6 years, after having a dermoid cyst removed March 2011, FS had DH have a SA this showed abnormalities we had tried severals months on Clomid & now starting our first cycle of IVF, I start on Synarel on Monday:o
To everyone else I want to wish you all the best in where you are at the moment, I am sure I will get my head around where everyone is at soon, I'm not sure I will even post this right yet:D

:hello: planetsasha - welcome :) - first post = A O K!! I didn't get that much of a reaction to syneral - just keep a bottle or water or cordial on hand, the taste seems to suddenly come about 5 minutes after you've sprayed. It can feel like a bit of a wait when you are doing your cycle this way, but we all get there in the end. Good luck!!!
big :hug: for kerbear.... so sorry sweetheat - one foot in front of the other.... and just keep going... FX your boss is lovely about it.... just remember you are entitled to take sick days and if you don't want to you don't have to tell them WHY at all! It's none of their business really (and sometime bosses can be a bit nosey!!!)

Thanks for your well wishes my turn, I managed to get a glass of water and a cup of grapes down. Just had a shower and now I'm laying on the lounge again. I have to be there at 9.30 for a 10am transfer so we'll only be 10 mins apart :) spoke to the embryologist this afternoon who said that all 3 embies are still at the 2 cell stage :( she said they won't freeze them if they are less than 5 cell so I've got everything crossed.
I feel really bad as well, in the throws of vommiting DH was holding my hair back and I told him that I was never putting my body through this again. We have male factor infertility so I think it really hurt him seeing me go through this :(
