Meg - I agree! with the failed IVF cycle, I kept feeling - it's basically a really early miscarriage, and while the feelings are (I suspect) different, there are similarities too... the grief is raw, and the guilt, shame and embarrassment about the whole this is all empowering - PLUS you have all the hormones making it worse than a usual TWW.... people don't get that... but anyway... that's for the tww thread ;) Sounds like you've had a rough journey! totally sucky!
Missren - totally get the visual of you parading naked in front of the dr...... :rofl: .... I was so excited to cover myself up at Embryo transfer...... only to find the sheet had a hole in the middle.... weird.... ;)
vic - glad to hear you're getting on the wagon nice and quickly - hope the drugs treat you okay ;) dunno about the flying - but it might be nice to have the week to relax and just let it implant??? maybe ask the dr and see what he/she says??? The nurse made a point to me last time... "if it's gunna stick, it'll stick, regardless of what you do really..." obviously that's not to say do whatever you want.... but... for the most part... what we do probably doesn't make much difference...
amy - hope you are starting to feel better lovely ... theoretically these symptoms are supposedly similar to preg.... so I guess we'd better get used to them... anybody whose got a bfp can confirm or deny?... once you finish the drugs do the symptoms go away? or do they just continue cause you're preg anyway????

myturn, sounds like your doing it tough in the TWW. It drives me mental too. Ugh!! I hope its the last one you will have to endure :) Thanks for your advice on flying. Think I may fly home between EPU & transfer. I just want my own bed and its only a 45 minute flight. Last time I was so sore, I just wanted my own bed, but we drove over and it was a 7 hour drive home. This time we are going to fly. It will mean catching buses, but I dont care. Adelaide is great for transport. The bus stops right outside airport, caravan park and hospital (and shopping centre). Think I will be too sore though.
Miss B, I hope you find a home soon. Enjoy your new thread, when it pops up. Am sure you will be a great support to everyone. x
Kerbear, its great that you have an understanding boss. It is hard to juggle all of this, without every man and his dog knowing. I too have a great boss and she is also very understanding. She says to take whatever time I need. Lucky I have 16 weeks long service leave accrude which I was hoping to use after I give birth, but if I cant get pg, may as well use it up trying. It would be a great story to conceive on Valentines day. Great pressie from DH too :)
AFM - 1st Gonal F last night. Hurt a bit, and bled just a little. I must be out of practice :) I cant believe that I was doing all of this in October and it feels like yesterday but at the sametime it feels like forever ago. IVF is like a weird time warp. Its like a vortex that sucks you in. Just one more month....just one more month...

Am feeling really tight and horrible, EPU was fine but lots of bleeding and a large clot dislodged in recovery, but i know that's due to DD post-birth complications so should have expected it I guess. It was just a little frightening to see given how good i was feeling. Got 10 eggies which i am stoked about and DH survived his second TESA and they appear to have secured enough wrigglers from him. Will know Fert numbers via SMS tomorrow as well as ET date, though am suspecting it'll be a 5 day blast.
Off to bed for me with some panadol...hope you are all well. Thinking of you especially Saffy, it's been a big day :)

Just quickly for me, had scan and we are doing better this time with follicle size and numbers, we have 11 but FS thinks 2 are leftover from last time but all similar sizes. Looks like EPU will be next wed, yay we are going ahead with full cycle this time woohoo.

I just called the embryologist- 3 out of my 4 were fertilised :D, so I am happy with this ( was gearing myself up to be happy with 2 fertilising), transfer at 1.15 tomorrow, nervous! Have to go my myself as DH has already had days off this week and cant push his luck any further at work!
Kimbe- great egg numbers hun, I hope you are well rested and feeling better, funny how we both bled yesterday. Good luck with fert results, I might beat you to the tww lol!

AFM - fainted in bathroom last night and have a major shiner on right eye, gotta love it when bathroom tiles and the skull/eye socket come together with full force. Guess it takes the mind of the abdominal cramping lol. Poor DH freaked, with good reason as i took a while to come too supposedly. GP this morning was great and has me on bed rest till end of week - not bad really, have DH at home spoiling me like mad. Rang work and the admin staff were slightly disgruntled about my longer than expected absence, not that i care. On the more positive, got the SMS through when at the GP's and we've achieved 4/10 fertilised and yep, waiting till Sunday for ET. FX they make it to blasti's so ET actually happens.
Gosh Kimbe, that sounds quite scary. I am glad to hear that DH is looking after you. Dont worry about people at work. Poo Poo to them. You have much more important things to worry about. Rest up and take care of yourself and we will all be :pray: that all 4 of your embies make it.
OOOOUCH! Kimbe - you poor thing! All of what you have to go through and then a fall? UGH! Great DH looking after you and yep, work......go jump! But great re the fertilisation....very cool.......go embie go! I am soooooo doing a reeeeeeeeallllllly loooooong loooooong cycle - finished OC, AF arrived so I guess, back to cd2, maybe able to make some progress. Everyone else has gotten so far in the time I have just been trudging along reading away with not so much to add myself......but oh so happy for everyone's little (and not so little) wins :)

AFM - Starting the puregon today, eeek! Have to remember the 2 secs refresh the nurse gave me for the pen but I'm hoping it will all come back to me. Will be jabbing at 8pm and then synorel at 8.10 already had my metphormin. Anything else?! LOL Ahhh well atleast I feel like I'm doing something else. Next week on V day my first blood test! Not sure what theyre looking for at that one but then have another plus a u/s on the 17th.

Rhi - seven is still something :) my first cycle was 8 - 5 eggs and all fertilized :) ok it was a bfn - but the stats were okay (in my case it was the quality that was average) FX you get something good in there xx

Vic – how are you feeling, hope the meds aren’t messing with your body to much, its so nice to hear you have a good boss as well. It is so hard because if you haven’t gone through this you really have no idea. I thought I had some idea what I was going to be up for after doing some IUI’s but how wrong I was. IVF takes it to a whole other level again.
Meg – I am crossing my fingers the docs are starting to find out whats going on with you so you can have some success.

Lilemisshavachat – I have to just say that I had only just logged onto bellybelly on my computer and had to laugh at you congratulations post, I have not seen all the dancing faces yet….they are so adorable. Kashby – How are you feeling after your fall last night, I read that and was horrified for you, Glad to see DH is looking after you, did anything in particular cause it? I say the same as everyone else work can just deal with it as it is completely out of your control. So glad you got some good embies fertilized, crossing my fingers for you that they get to transfer.
Strawberry55 – :welcome: I hope your fs can do some investigating and hopefully find you some answers soon, we spent over 1.5yrs being told we were unexplained only to change fs and have one blood test done that gave us the answers, it was me and I am running out of eggs :wall: Aweful to hear but also good not to be unexplained anymore.
Saffy – YAY for your fertilization, good luck with your transfer tomorrow, what stage are the embies at? everyone in here seems to be having day 2/3 transfers, my clinic says it will be day 5 unless they think they need to go in at day 3, I don't want to lose any when we finally get some so I am worrying if they try and push it out to 5 we might lose some or all. So sad for you that DH can’t be there, it is such an important moment and it isn’t fair that work gets in the way of that for you. Will be thinking of you and sending :stickyvibesgirl:to you.

I have been having bad hormonal teary day today, DH is on night shift and I need him so much tonight, I am finding the further we get into this the harder it is, my tummy is bruised from nearly every needle and I look like a pincushion, even my acupuncture is hurting so it must just be me this cycle.
Now I am looking at EPU next week I am starting to freak out about how I am going to feel after EPU, I have important meetings the following day and I am hoping I am going to be able to cope with sitting down all day.
Can I ask you lovely ladies that have blood tests whilst having the meds what the docs are checking as I don’t have that done and wonder if I am missing something important or if its cause I don’t need it, if I don’t need them then I am more than happy to not have yet another needle stabbed into my body lol
Does anyone on GonalF who has had a dose of 450 through whole cycle feel light headed and extremely tired. I just feel strange this time and am wondering if its jus the meds. My whole body feels like a mac truck hit it today, my shoulders and the sides of my neck are so sore I hope I am not getting :sick:

Thanks Amy, I am thinking they don't do bloods on me cause there is nothing they can check that helps what's wrong with me.
Yeah we have male factor infertility so I dont think they are checking to see if there is anything wrong as such. If your Oestorgen is to high it can indicate OHSS so I think they keep an eye on it for that reason and also to see when you are likely to be ready for pick up.

Thanks Kerbear, you're a real sweetie :) I'm sorry you're having such a hard time with the cycle :hug: When I did my first cycle 3 and a half years ago I was on gonal F 225. That almost made me have OHSS as I blew up a like a fish. I'm only guessing a dosage of 450 is reasonably high, and maybe that's why you're feeling uncomfortable? I would have thought with the bloods they would be able to pick up any signs of over stimulation???? Could you speak to your FS or your nurse? I can understand the fear of them doing more invasive things to your poor wee body. Hope you're feeling better soon and good to go for your EPU next week :crossfingers:

Thanks MissB - after todays scan I don't think there is a problem with OHSS I think my body just doesn't like being messed with.
Had another scan this morning and follicles arent growing much which is not good, another scan on Sunday. We could be looking at a really long cycle or another cancellation.
I am so over disappointment, I said to DH it's like one of those rides where you want to get off cause it's not fun but you wanted to finish it successfully as well.
One minute I can't get enough follicles not I have a few more and I can't get them to grow, I feel like such a failure, I just want my body to play the game and stop making this such a hard thing to go through. Its hard enough to have to be doing IVF without feeling like you are banging your head into a wall every day :wall:
Needless to say having a really bad day, DH reminds me not to give up cause its not cancelled yet but I don't hold much hope, it's easier to think its not going to work then u don't get so disappointed :cry:
