tantee-hope they get your cough sorted soon, obviously they would have tested you for whooping cough? As for the bladder, I have a terrible bladder so didn't really drink much at all, just what they recommended, other people were in agony in the waiting room- not me lol!! When I got in the nurse said it was fine and that you don't really need that much anyway, so I'm surprised they made you have more- the last thing you want to do after a transfer is go to the toilet straight away! Good luck hope your bladder holds out.
Tantee - hope everythings ok and you can go ahead. My clinic doesn't use ultrasound and they insist on emptying your bladder before you transfer! I've always thought it was a bit funny that they don't since it seems like it would be helpful. They've told me some stats that make it seem like the ultrasound doesn't make a huge difference to the outcome - maybe you could ask if you could do it without?
Hey ladies well everything went great today, its my father in laws birthday so already a special day and then i got a call from the hubby (who wasn't going to be able to make it to transfer) but he was working only 15 mins away from the clinic so he asked his boss if he could come and his boss said it was fine. We had 2 lovely looking embryo's transfered and another 5 made it to the blast stage BUT she said they arn't quite up to where they should be???? i dont get this my other clinic froze all blasties and this clinic discards them if there not the 'best' quality, im a bit upset about this we have never had 7 blastiest before i was so excited and then they went onto say they most likely wont be suitable to freeze? but they are going to culture them until tomorrow and see. Has anyone else had this happen to them before? Anyways i also got my results from my progesterone test yesterday and it was 470!!!!!!! the nurse said she has never seen a progesterone level so high before, so she said i shouldn't be worried at all about my levels but gave me another blood form to get tested in another week just to put me at ease. I feel good about this so fingers crossed!
Tantee im sorry to hear your cough is still playing up on you. I think do what you feel is right from your heart that way you wont have any regrets, good luck. I have felt pretty uncomfortable during previous cycles but with westmead they ask you to empty your bladder and then only drink enough so its 1/4 or 1/2 full and today i didnt feel uncomfortable at all and i wasnt asked to drink more, maybe bring it up with your nurse xxx
Oneday, that is awesome news!!!! Let's hope they snuggle in tightly. Good luck in your 2ww. Wow, your test day is not far away at all!!!! How exciting!!!!!
Did your FS recommend 2 due to the number of transfers you have had? I am curious as my FS has suggested 2 this time.
I had 4 blasts frozen at day 5 and they then called me on Day 6 to say they had frozen 2 more which I was totally not expecting. So there is hope yet for your little ones. My clinic too will only freeze what they think can survive the thaw.
I was with your clinic (I think) about 2 years ago and I know that they had a new head embryologist come in from o/seas who I think was starting a major overhaul in their embryo and freezing procedures which from what I could tell was well welcomed by the staff.
Kass & Saffy - thanks for your well wishes. It is just nice to be able to talk about these things with people who understand and don't blow it off. If I were to tell anyone else, they would kind of be like, get over it, no big deal. But you ladies understand that it is another worry to add to all the other anxieties of this IVF journey and just how vulnerable you can feel.
I was tested for whooping a while back which came back neg but Specialist thinks I may still have had it. (Also had it as a bub) but want to make sure all is OK as I was a smoker for many years. Have not smoked in a long time except for 8 days last year after my miscarriage which triggered the whole cough off. I think I was so angry at my body after trying to do so much for so long to get pregnant, I thought 'bugger it'. That will show me who's boss - my body!
Sounds like everyone is travelling along pretty well....
Katones - I think you may have a winner there...I am no expert but it sounds like your symptoms are starting to increase. Hopefully it will all add up to some really wonderful news for you!! FX
Oneday - Your transfer sounds wonderful. I am so glad your DH could be there in the end. Look after yourself in the coming days! Take care x
Happybaby - Seems like we are on a similar schedule with our jabbing, etc. What type of cycle are you doing?
Tantee - I hope they get to the bottom of your cough mystery and that it does not hamper your quest to get UTD for too long. Dumb, dumb question but are you taking supplements/multivitamins?? Maybe that might help your body fight whatever it has to fight in order to get rid of the infection (or whatever it is!!)
Saffy - Hope your thaw went well. Looking forward to hearing some happy news from you
Kass- best of luck for your transfer on Friday. May you be one of the BFPs we are surely due for in here very soon
AFM - I have a question. I am currently CD7 and I have done 4 jabs of gonal f (262.5 iui) so far. And, apart for a slight swollen feeling on the right ovary (my dominant ovary) on Monday night, I have had no pain or any other side effects. So while on one hand this is good, on the other hand I am starting to think maybe this isnt working. On the clomid (which worked getting me ovulating with nice follicles every month) I had real pain in my ovaries. They felt soooo swollen. I guess I was expecting more with the gonal f. Especially as this is meant to stimulate the ovaries so much more than the clomid. I have a scan and BT tomorrow but, of course, I cant wait until then!!!! I would love to hear what everyone else's experience has been. Should I be worried that I am not responding? Or is it too early to feel pain??
N2L - In my experiences, I have found there to be few side affects in the ovary region until I have been stimming for nearly a week. Up until then, I don't feel too much discomfort at all. I find that it's the higher Estrogen levels (mine tend to go pretty high, I have PCOS) that give me the worst symptoms such as nausea and a general off feeling. I also did clomid for 5 months prior to my first IVF and found it to be very different feeling, very intense especially in the first couple of months and I was a hell of a lot moodier. Maybe it's a different kind of stimulant, I don't know. The IVF tends to feel like more of a slow build up.
re your IVF, It may not feel like much is happening, but more than likely, it is, especially as your dose is quite considerable so try not be too concerned.. you will have a good indication tomorrow and they can adjust your dosage to suit if needed. Good luck!!!
oneday - sounds like your transfer went really well. fx for a bfp in a couple of weeks! Hope your blasties have done really well overnight and you have a few in the freezer today
Saffy - how did your transfer go?
ntl -like tantee said, it may just be working differently. I've never had any symptoms (I've been on puregon not gonal f) try not to worry - I'm sure it's all ok!
Tantee - hope your appointments go well today!
afm - starting to get nervous about Friday - my cervix has a history of being difficult to navigate and my transfers are always pretty painful. I had a dream last night where my dr gave up halfway through the transfer - I was so upset when I woke up!
