=) glad it wasnt as bad as you were expecting Katones, do you have to do it or do they do it? (please excuse my ignorance...)
Melissa that is horrible! I agree you need to stay away from people like that. Im very lucky to have a supportive family on both sides but we have decided not to tell anyone but our bestfriends and bosses this time because it is becoming too hard to tell EVERYONE when another cycle fails and then i feel i have to answer to everyone with their non supportive questions e.g maybe there is something wrong with you, why isnt it working etc, i think its just easier this way and when pepole ask when we are doing anther cycle i just say we are having a break for now.
Katones i wish you all the best xxxxxxx
Teirae i hope the 2 week wait goes very quickly for you xxx
AFM ultrasound tomorrow which im really nervous about, i know the short cycles are different to the long down reg cycles but just dont have much tenderness around my ovaries like i usually do but have had that yucky clear discharge which i think is a good thing? sorry for TMI lol. Will let you know how i go.
Melissa, really sorry to hear about your insensitive family member. Is is possible DH could go into bat for you? Or another family member...?? and tell her to BACK OFF!!!
DP and I have told no-one really (my mum, his mum) that we are doing any sort of fertility treatment, let alone IVF. To me it is a private matter and I dont want to be explaining to everyone and his dog that it hasnt worked if it doesnt.
hugs to you ...and remember - you dont have to explain yourself to anyone!
Katones - best of luck x
Oneday...my experience is you inject yourself
n2l
injections all done by MOI :) DH couldn't even be there when they were done...scaredy cat
hi there
Teirae I hope the 2 1/2 weeks fly by quickly for you.
Katones best of luck with your EPU.
Nothing2Lose I hope the police check arrives in time. It's so frustrating to have to get all this extra paper work. I remember last year we had to get the child protection orders in before we could go ahead with treatment.
Oneday. i'm very interested in how you find the Antagonist cycle. I've done one of each and I found I got a lot of follicles with the Antag but the end result was the same amount of eggs compared with the Down Reg. I also found I had a lot more pain after the EPU with the Antag. My FS said the follicles mature all around the same time with the Down Reg. Best of luck with the Scan.
AFM. Finally finished the BCP which I'm relieved about. It was giving me headaches and mood swings. I have my first BT this Friday and will pick up the rest of the medication.
Good luck to everyone else in their cycles. Will have to do a big catch up to find out how everyone else is going when I have some more time.
xx HB
Hi Ladies,
Hi Everyone, I am back in the game after a month off over Christmas. Wow, so many new names in here. I hope that your stay here is brief IYKWIM.
I am starting a new medicated FET cycle today as AF has arrived. I had delayed it by a week or so as I had to wait to see a respitory specialist in regard to a cough I have had since early October. He gave me the all clear so hopefuly I'm right to go. I would have preferred to be 100% before continuing but if he's ok with it then so am I.
FS suggested we transfer 2 this time but I am a bit hesitant and am looking at transferring only one as the thought of multiples scares me a bit. I may transfer one this time as it will be my first FET with a blastocyst and if unsuccessful (and lucky enough to have remaining embies) then transfer 2 next time. It feels like you are always in a dilemma with this IVF business, always something to worry about or a new decision to make!!
Melissa - sorry that you are having family problems. I find one of the hardest things to cope with is the insensitivity of people you thought you could rely on. Although it is only a select few, it can really help bring you down. Try and keep your chin up and surround yourself with only those that you know are there for you. This journey is hard enought without the mean spirited ignorance of others adding to your load.
Hi to everyone else - I hope you are all feeling good about where you are in your cycle. GL to everyone having their scans this week. I will catch up with who is where over the next few days, but it is so busy in here at the moment!
Bring on lots of BFP's for 2011!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi ladies just a quick one before bed, had ultrasound today and everything looks really good, EPU is on thursday :) would have been wednesday but its the public holiday and there is lots of follicles she said about 20?
Happybaby, so far i much prefer the antaganoist cycle much quicker and easier but will let you know with end result, and was suprised that i have lots of follicles cause i dont feel anywhere near as tender around my ovaries as my last 2 long down reg cycles? xxx
oneday: good luck for EPU , wow 20 , scary . hope all goes well
tantee: good luck FET, woohoo for you.
katones: glad all your injections are done, yeah mean big scaredy cats, LOL. fingers croseed for you
who did i forget ? sorry if it was you.
i am trying really hard to keep up with everyone, but sometimes it's hard as i am flat out atm with work and life.
about one month to go til FS app.
chat soon
I'm home from EPU :) all went well...except they had to wake me as i was that zonked from the sedation...lol
5 eggies :) transfer on Thursday, fone call tomorrow 8.30amish to et me know how many fertilized :)
oh Katones!!! I hope they all are for you!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi all!
Good news for me today too :)
Had my final pre-lim appointments yesterday, paid for my cycle and picked up my medication. Starting to get bad cramps and AF is due tomorrow...so...WE ARE ON OUR WAY TO STARTING OUR FIRST IVF CYCLE...:)
DP's police check still isnt back but they are letting us start on the proviso that if it hasnt arrived by transfer time, any embryos we have will be frozen until it arrives. That gives us another two weeks or so...FX it gets here!!
So now I am nervous, excited, scared, happy - pretty much everything rolled into one.
Turns out because DP's SA wasnt too bad we are just doing IVF, not ICSI this cycle. Of course I am a bit worried this may reduce our chances but I am leaving it in the hands of our FS. She also mentioned yesterday that if she gets a few good embryos she will consider implanting two! Never thought about that, still not sure how I feel, but then, as DP said, 'We should be so lucky...."
As I am a total newbie to this, I was wondering if one (or more) of the old timers in here (no emphasis on 'old' lol) might be able to answer a couple of questions...Thanks!!!
- Is it best to take the gonal f in the morning or at night?
- Did you get many side effects? What?
-For those who have done clomid cycles, is the feeling in your ovaries similar? Or is it more painful?
- Will I become an emotional wreck? (some might say I already am an emotional wreck!)
-Can you go to work the day after EPU?
-Can you go to work straight after transfer? Or should you take day off and lie down?
I think that's it for now!!!
Thanks for your help (and patience!!)
take care all x

Katones ~ excellent result, FX'd tight for you that they all fertilise and the cells divide nicely.
Oneday ~ wow 20 great result, hope you get lots at EPU then! FX for a great EPU!
Tantee ~ great to see you back, all the best with your cycle!
JBM ~ Hope the time goes quick for you up to your FS appointment
Happy Baby ~ goodluck with your cycle hun. I did an Antag cycle last time after 2 down regs and next go they are putting me back on the down reg as I too ended up with the same result - no better off even though I had 20 collected with Antag I only ended up with 2 to transfer and none to freeze. They think for me the down reg cycles might be better for some reason.
Tei and Nothing2lose ~ hi and hope you're both well
Hi to anyone else I may have missed -:stickyvibesboy::pink-babydust: for all
AFM ~ well you can probably see by my status that AF has still not reared her ugly head. Bloomin body, wish she'd hurry up already - I want my cycles back to normal :wall:
Hi all, not long for me to go now!! First appointment to pick up meds next week and AF due in a week and a half, so all systems go.
Nothing2lose, to answer some of your questions, my FS recommended gonal in the morning, and the other one at night. back when I did my first cycle, they were both at night an hour apart, but then he told me there was research to suggest that it was better separating them to morn and night. The only side effects I had were severe bloating. I went back to work the day after EPU. You can go staight to work after ET, but on my successful cycle I decided to take the rest of the day off and feet up....who knows if this made a difference or not, but I certainly felt less stressed!!
Hi to everyone else, good luck with your cycles! We are on holidays so hard to write a long reply with personals!!!
Thanks ladies, fingers crossed :)
Nothingtoloose, with my first 2 STIM cycles i did my lucrin, gonal-f and puregon i did it at 8 every night but this STIM cycle my nurse asked me to do them in the morning so i did it at 7 every morning, this was due to some ppl mixing up their injections with the ovidrel (trigger injection) so either way i dont think it matters.
I dont get any side effects i just get tired leading up to EPU.
I tried to make the mistake of going to work the day after EPU last STIM cycle but i was in too much pain so i called and said i needed another day off so i advise if you can to take another day off to rest. Also a heat pack/water bottle helps. I always go back to work the day after transfer but i always have the day of off and during the 2ww i take it easy at work and home.
i am not back to work until next monday :) i worked yesturday, off today, tomorrow is a PH and i don't/won't work PH's i took Thursday off off for the transfer and i don't work fridays :) worked out good for us
needles....both mine were dne in the morning, at the same time of the day
katones goodluck with everything i hope you get good news about your embies and transfer goes well xx will be in the 2ww sat or tues :) xxxx
Ladies im stuck on the transfer decision AGAIN!! We agreed that if we only get 5 or less that fertilise again then we will do a day 2 transfer but will be transfering 2 embies no matter what the outcome is (if we get 2 this time!) but im not sure if we should just try a day 2 transfer this time regardless? our past 2 STIM we have done day 5 transfers, we got one pg out of it but lost it so one part of me says try something different and the other part of me is saying day 5's are better quality! I hate having these decisions in my hands!
Is it OK if I pop my head in here and ask if a pregnyl trigger can make your boobs leak? I don't know others who trigger, sorry .
Best of luck to everyone cycling, I usually lurk and hope and pray with you all but never post as I am not quite here yet.
xoxo
