Jane - no need to apologise for venting, that's why we are here It's always hard to cope with another pg announcement and it sounds like you've had to deal with a lot of them lately

N2L - Ricky Ponting? He can wait Hope you can schedule things around it hun!

Lyra - congrats on being PUPO!! Stay positive.

If all goes well with my lining again, transfer may be on the 6th, in the middle of my 3 work days. I am contemplating NOT taking the whole day off. I don't have a huge amount of sick leave/annual leave and need to keep it up my sleeve for when DD is sick and I can't work (since we aren't even in winter yet and she always get colds, ear infections etc). I've always had the day off for transfer. Has anyone else worked on transfer day? I could do a half day at work then leave, say if transfer was after noonish (last time was 1.15pm). I guess I will judge it on my work load at the time and what I'm working on. Sometimes my job is super stressful and other times not too bad.
I always find it hard after transfer to know how far to go in terms of 'taking it easy'. What does everyone else do?? When we got pg with DD we went to a spanish coooking class the night of transfer day - it was booked in long in advance and after already having BFNs when all I did was lie on the couch for 3 days, we thought why not?

I came back to work post transfer... Which might make you want to do the opposite!!! Hardly a walking success story here
Could you swap a day at work for a different day off?

    Ha ha Joeve

Work days are pretty much locked in due to daycare arrangements. But good idea though! We haven't told anyone we have started IVF again, we want to actually try to make a 12 week announcement like 'normal' people! So even our parents and my bestie don't know. I think I will work in the morning and take the arvo off if I think I need it. I've got about 10 days of annual leave so really that is quite a few, wouldn't be so bad if I used a few of them. Also it was quite nice for my last transfer as I took myself out for breakfast, did some window shopping, had acupuncture, had lunch, had transfer and went home to the couch!

    Thanks mrs Mac!

I'm just trying to learn about what will happen, so I'm not surprised.
I've never had general anesthetic before, so that kinda scares me.
Oh and of course, the needles.
My FS has put me down for an antagonist cycle- that's 2 needles a day!

I'm sure I can do it!!!!!

my police check comes back ASAP!

Anasthetic is weird!! You are chatting then suddenly waking up! Messes with your head a bit. And weird cause you know they've been prodding around in your private parts

But the drs and nurses are lovely.
Antagonist is the quicker cycle so it means you get answers quickly. But it's also a bit harder physically as your body is being pumped with mre drugs... It will be over before you know it though.

Emma- the Retrieval was the part I was most scared of and it was really over before I new it. The hardest part was waiting to go in sitting nervously in my sexy blue gown with matching blue booties. Once I was taken into the theater they got me to lay down and within minutes I was out of it and woke up in recovery. And it's true that now I have done it once Im much less worried about doing it again although I hope my FET will be all I need and with any luck you will never have to do it again after this either.

I agree it's not as bad as you expect although at my clinic they don't knock you out for retrieval and it's a painful experience even with the slight sedation they give you. Then again it was cool watching the eggs come out so that was the trade off!!

OMG Joeve, are you serious ???? I think I'd rather be asleep for that! You're a tough lil cookie

Emma, like the girls have already said, it really isn't that bad. I have heard of one girl who reacted badly to the drugs, but most are OK. For me the antagonist cycle goes so quickly, I've barely stabbed myself a few times and it's time for egg pick up! lol. Being knocked out for the egg retival isn't bad either. Like myturn said, they keep you chatting away and then you're waking up in recovery so it seems you've only been asleep for seconds. So you'll be just fine hun and I really hope your IVF journey is really short Now, lets pray your police checks come in nice and quick

Wow Joeve I cant believe your awake through it all. At our clinic we each have our own beds. We check into that bed and put our stuff in our draw and get changed in the bathroom. Then I walk next door (its the same room they use for transfer) hope up in chair and lay back and they stick me with the drugs and off to sleep I go. It always freaks me out to wake up in my original bed back. They must life me off and put me in my bed.

Antagonist goes so quickly. It takes me 11 days from my 1st injection to EPU day. I started injections last Sunday night Gonal F 262.5iui, added 250iui of Cetrotide last night (Friday). I have my scan Monday and will expect from my previous history to stop all meds and trigger that night ready for collection Wednesday. Transfer should be the following Monday. So quick.

I must have lost my knack a little bit as the injections are starting to hurt going in. I know the Cetrotide always stings but last nights was very ouchy!! I have to pinch myself harder I think.

Emma - the first injection is always the hardest. Its mind over matter though. Once its done you will wonder why you ever got worked up about it Let me know if you want to join in the list. Even if its waiting for something to happen.

Good luck for tomorrow N2L. Hope your scan is not painful this time around and they find your ovaries and have a nice follie ready to pop xxx
Hi to everyone else. Hope your all enjoying your weekend.

MRS P - Every other transfer I have had I only took the day of and the day after transfer off and I didn't really slow down and always got a BFN. This time I took a week off work, sat on the couch, watched movies and did bugger all and got my BFP. I also cut out ALL caffeine, I didnt even have one drink with caffeine in it during the TWW and I still havent since I found out I was pregnant - I think it made a massive difference.

I also think to myself it is crappy to have no A/L or sick leave but when you are investing that much money into IVF do you really want to not take a day off and then think what if later?

    Hello Again

Welcome Emma09 I agree with everyone the thought is scarier than the actual doing and try to block out those being negative about it (i remember one lady telling awful stories while we were all waiting!!)

I cant believe you do it without sedation Joeve OMG i even get something for transfer

Thanks for the advice on transfer Amy I cant remember what I did with DS.

AFM- Lining was 7.8mm yesterday so transfer this thursday 24th with a day 5/6 embryo. Had a rough day yesterday as the oestrogen interacts with my regular medication causing heart palpitations and abnormal ECG. So I spent the day in ED getting every possible test....feeling a little better today but just taking it very easy.

    Talk soon

We have some sedation it's suppose to be like being a little drunk... I am not completely drug free I did feel the whole thing though there were a bit of tears. I also was able to see the u/s screen of my follies on one side and then up on the screen near the roof I got to see eggs as they were taken out of the fluid so it was cool. Also dh gets to come in with me
