Hi ladies, well after being 40 mins late for our appointment time this morning (even know i had to be there 3 hrs before the egg collection) all because of the traffic and wet weather we got stuck in which made us late i was so stressed but it all paid off, i got 20 eggs!!!!!! we cant believe it i got 15 last time but we didn't think we would get that many this time. I am bit sore and bleed a bit this time but sems to have stopped now. I was awake for the whole thing and was pretty unpleasent as it was preety painfull. We still havn't made our minds up about what day we are growing the embryo's to we are waiting till we hear tomorrow how many fertilise so fingers crossed we get a good number.
Springlola - I too would be writing a letter of complaint - send it to head office. Not sure who you are going through but they all have a 'boss' somewhere. They can have their opinion, sure, they can advise you, of course, but to have such a sensitive consultation in a waiting room is just.....I don't even know the word. It's unbelievable. You must be crushed. Come on ovaries, prove that bastard wrong!
Nic - my mild OHSS was exactly the way you described yours. I had never read the symptoms, but now I know the nurse must have been right. Took about 2 days as well. Good luck with jabbing.
Loops - hi!
AFM - had transfer today and all went well. Very bizarrely though they transferred a very good quality (they always say that, don't they) hatching blastocyst which was one of the ones they said hadn't fertilised. So, I thought I had 3 embies, but it turns out I have 7. They explained that the others would have fertilised before they check them for signs of fertilisation, so, the 2 dots they see inside the egg to show it has fertilised had already disappeared when they checked it the day after EPU. Does that make sense? Anyway, this one was the best of the lot, so I'm obviously hoping and praying that it works but trying to not cling too tightly to the dream.
Oneday, that is a fantastic result!! How are you feeling now? You can always rely on Syd traffic to add to the stress. Congrats on a great number.
Kaybee - Congrats on your transfer. I haven't heard of that scenario before. Just goes to show they must be super keen embies! Best of luck for your 2WW.
AFM - Epu today and we got 11 which was a pleasant surprise to me as I was told just before going in that we were looking at about 6 good follies. Feeling quite good, just really tired and had a nanna nap this afternoon. Hoping to get good fertilisation results as last time only 1 out of 4 fertilised (although I did get a bfp from that one) so we are using ICSI this time.
Oneday and tantee - congratulations with your collections - they both sound like good numbers Hope they do really well overnight
Kaybee - Weird! Haven't heard of that before. Hatching is a good start! Hope you're relaxing
Springlola - I'm so sorry you were treated that way. It's inconsiderate, insensitive, and telling you publicly has got to be a breach of doctor-patient confidentiality. I agree with Kaybee and oneday, write and complain. Good on you for sticking up for yourself, I doubt I would have been able to in the same situation. Hope the pick up is successful on Thursday
Kaybee thats great, my embryo last STIM cycle was starting to hatch and that was the one i got a BFP from, so goodluck.
Tantee thats a great result too! are you growing yours till day 5 os less? i think we are going to let ours grow to day 5 but will see how they are 2mo! your doing well not to be in any pain! its really uncomfortable for me to walk but i was pretty tender before EPU prob cause i had so many eggies in there! lol but i was sore last time too for 3 days. Iv taken tomorrow off work too to get lots of rest.
I cant wait to find out how many have fertilised, they said they may not find 20 good sperm to inject but i will be so ****ed off if they waist any! and apparently they dont freeze eggs??? i asked if there is eggs left over that they couldnt inject could we freeze the eggs and they said no they dont do that.
I hope everyone else is doing well xxx
P.s is there anything to cure OHSS? or just bed rest and a heat pack?
oneday - wow 20 is alot!! Hope you get some nice fertilisation results. As far as I know panadol, bed rest & heat packs for ohss - if its bad call your FS, as mine checked me out, did a scan and gave me some anti inflamatory pills
tantee - nice result, hoping you get good fert results too
kaybee - my last cyle I had one that had started to hatch as well and I got a BFP, so sounds like they are good one, fx for a stress free tww
thanks nicole, i think i may have it the pain isnt any better, i feel bloated and the pain is right up to my ribs and i feel really gassy. I think i may have had a bit of it last time too but i feel more sore this time. they wont cancel my transfer will they?
