Hi girls, it's been a couple of weeks since my last post. I finally got AF and had my visit with FS today. We've decided to skip the IUI and go straight to IVF. Initially I was disappointed because we really wanted to avoid IVF if possible. The FS has said due to my age and the extent of my endo that was removed I would have a much higher chance with IVF. So here's hoping, wishing and praying for all of you that you have much success with IUI and that it's sooner rather than later. xoxo
Just updating you, I went and had the 21 day blood test yesterday to check and see if I ovulated and sure enough my results were great so that is a good sign. Now just have to wait it out until Thursday next week to see if this IUI process was successful.
The hardest part is, that while I know it is unlikely I find myself analysing every little twinge and niggle that my body feels. Over the weekend I felt slightly crampy on my right side (kind of like mild AF pains) and thought to myself "oooh I wonder if this is implantation pain?" but then I had to remind myself that it was unlikely. Then this afternoon (around 5.30pm) I felt a bit seedy for about 30min and thought "oooh I wonder if this is morning sickness?". Again, trying not to get my hopes up I convinced myself that it is unlikely so I don't get my hopes up.
I just have to last until Thursday next week...
I hope you are all doing well, keep us posted. I know I love too read about other people's stories.
Bluebird, big hugs to you hun, no-one wants to think about having to go through IVF, best of luck with it all,
Nellym, that is exciting that you o'd, now just the painful wait until next week, hopefully it goes quick for you.
Well, I'm on day 2 of my injections. DH has been good both times being very gentle doing them for me. I am having 37.5iu daily until I go and see the FS again next Tues for an U/S and see if that dosage is enough. FX'd that is is...
ok, that is it. I am turning my computer off until next Thursday. My obsession with researching early pregnancy signs and analysing my body is getting ridiculous.
Goodluck everyone, I will let you know next week how I go.
I am a new user and wanted to join this chat thread so I could talk to people going through the same stuff. I am 34, BF is 28 and we have been TTC for over 12mths now. We are one of those unexplained couples where there is not good reason why we can't fall ourselves. Well it now seems that it is just as hard with the help of IUI. I am half way through my TWW and finding it a bit easier this time as it is #3. I have hit the hard stage though where I am questioning everything that goes on in my body. I am hoping the next week goes fast, I so want to see positive this time but I try not to get my hopes up so the dissapointment is not so bad.
good luck to you all
I hope your time in this thread is short lived and you are soon moving into the pregnancy threads.
How is everyone else going?
AF is technically due tomorrow if I am on a 28 day cycle, however my body tends to do it's own thing. I was triggered on day 11 so this will probably be the shortest cycle I have had in forever. I am not really sure how I am feeling at the moment, sometimes it feels like AF will come soon but then other times I feel nothing. I have had absolutely no breakouts (zits) or migraines either which is usually a tell tale sign for me that AF is on its way. So fingers crossed no AF and I get a positive BT on Wednesday.
If anyone else out there has some positive results please let us know, I really need some inspiration to keep going.
nellym - im about to start our 1st iui journey in roughly 10days... just waiting for AF. Im sorry this wasnt your month, i have everything crossed that Sept is a positive month for both of us! Look after yourself xx
Nellym big hugs to you hun, your month will be for sure next month.
AFM it has been one of the busiest weeks in quite a while. My FS app tues morning went great, he was very happy with the injections and in his own words "you have a ripper of an egg on your left ovary, that must be my ovary of the week". I also had 2 good eggs in my right ovary as well. Which I was really excited about as I had it in my head that the injections weren't going to work and I would have to have more of them. Anyway I had the trigger shot which OMG it hurt and then go home and DTD (sorry TMI) as I was fertile for the next 48 hrs. So hence the absence of my being on here as I have been busy . So now I have to wait again and do a POAS test in 2 weeks to see if it worked .
Anyway, I am going away down the Gold coast for the weekend with DH for our anniversary. So hope everyone has a great weekend and we get some BFP's on here soon. Babydust to everyone.
Hi All,
Thought I might join.
Will be having first IUI this week..trying not to get my hopes up.
So ive had the clomid, today the day11 scan (1 16mm follicle), Wedneday night the trigger shot and then Friday IUI followed by pregnyl injections...
welcome albi, goodluck with this cycle and hoep it all works for you.
Well my first cycle didn't work, AF showed up on CD27, so we started all over again. When I went to the FS last monday (13 sept) he put me on the same injection amount, but when I went for the CD14 scan it only showed 1 follie that was 12mm So I have to have more injections which is changed to 75iu and I go back on Thurs to have another scan. I must say I wasn't feeling anything was different like our first cycle I was quite bloated and having small cramping, but this time nothing. Trying to think positive about it all, so hopefully that will help me pick up on my crappy mood.
welcome Albi, hope your time in this forum is short lived.
Epayne - sorry you have to go through more injections, but hopefully this will do the trick.
T-hopes and Kerbear - how are you both going with your cycles?
Me - well tomorrow is BT day. I have been having some very weird sensations, although I am almost positive it is all in my head. Starting on the weekend I started having very weird sharp muscle type pains mostly on the right side low abdomen. Sometimes on the left but mostly right. I then got fairly bad what I thought was AF cramps that I now think might have been constipation (sorry TMI), the cramps have now gone. I am still getting some of those sharp pains every so often. I also felt a little nausea at times during the day today and slightly light headed. I am trying so hard not to get my hopes up, because I have heard so many people say they have had these symptoms and then got BFN. I really don't need the disapointment.
Well anyway, good luck ladies hope we ALL get BFPs soon.
Nellym how did you BT go, oh I can't wait to find out, I so need to here good news, even if it isn't my own.
Albi goodluck tmw with the insemination, hope all goes smooth sailing.
Well I just want the week to be over, more crappy news, the 1 follie has only grown 2mm, so more bloody injections for me and I have the trigger shot on monday. Why can't my body just do what it is supposed to and make something in my life easy. AAAAAHHHH (sorry for the rant) I'm just over it all not working. Hoping for a better week next week.
epayne - sorry to hear your body isn't co-operating... its so frustrating huh! so are you having IUI on Wednesday?
AFM - Well my 1st IUI experience has been very good so far. I was lucky enough to respond very well to the Puregon injections and was only on 50units! By CD8 I had 3 x 13mm lead follies and lots of little ones... by CD11, one of the leading follies dropped right off and had 1 x 17mm and 1 x 13mm... I triggered on CD13 and had my IUI last Monday (CD15) so im now in the 2WW... Doc was happy with DH sperm, he put 10million in me with 99% motility! I think that when i had the IUI the follies would have been 24mm and 19mm so hoping that we caught one! Fingers crossed... going to be a long wait!
Hope everyone else is OK, we need some BFP's in here!!!! xx
T-Hopes, GL waiting for the next week, hopefully time will fly for you and you get postive news. I'm not actually doing the full IUI process. As DH's sperm is perfect we do everything but the insemination. When I have the trigger shot I have a 48hr window to DTD and hopefully catch the egg (sorry for TMI). We spoke to our FS this morning and we are going to give this way 1 more cycle if this one doesn't work and then go the full IUI process. Hope this makes sense.
ah huh! Yes it does make sense! Good luck with it all! Hoping to hear of some BFP's in here soon! This is our 1st IUI but we are going to do IVF next cycle.
I actually had a very teary day. I POAS in the morning before the BT just to prepare myself, then when she actually stuck the needle in I started crying. I think the lady thought I was being a sook. But it was more the realisation that I was sick of being used as a human pin cushin when I know the outcome isn't good already. Then in the afternoon I rang DH to get me some pain killers on the way home from work and the lady that answered the phone (she knows what is happening) asked if I had any good news, I just started crying again. That is the worst part about getting the bad news at the exact time that AF is due, it is emotional enough without having the added AF hormones to add to it.
Then to top it off, today I got an invite to a friends Baby Shower..... I know I have to go, but I really do not want to be around pregnant people at the moment. In fact, I go out of my way to avoid them.
I go and pick up my next round of drugs tomorrow, ready for round 3.
T-Hope, 10mil is great. My first round DH only got 3mil good ones and they told us it would be IVF next. Since we didn't have the money for that we decided to try IUI again and this round there was 15mil good ones. It was such a dramatic jump, we were racking our brains trying to work out what had happend in the previous 4 months for the 1st round to be so low. We remembered that DH was going through alot of stressful changes at work.
Epayne, I hope you are trying to relax through your 2ww. I know had to hide the computer because I was just obsessing over every little twinge. I think I set myself up for the disappointment.
