AFM - Well Lap was all clear. Bit bummed about it but at the same time sort of knew it would be - I was hoping for something, anything! I should be grateful really. So off to IVF with my appt not until 12th July.
I ended up seeing the psychic today too & she says it is all emotional the reason I can't fall pg. Am going to consider going back to her for reiki but will wait a few weeks for things to settle down here (money & then back to work).She did say I will fall pg (no timeframe given) and that it will be an earth angel (my biggest fear is falling pg & m/c again) so that has given me some peace & hope (not alot though!)

Hey Jules, sorry for scaring you hun.

Oh that is good news about your lap, remember that sometimes all you need is a little clear out too (sounds horrible sorry). Are you still going to try Clomid this round before going to IVF? May as well. Porsche fell pg the month after her lap. Hey so you're not working at the moment are you? When do you go back? Maybe going back to work and giving yourself other things to concentrate on will help???? Just a thought. GL with the IVF app anywho's. Where are you off to for that? KUP hun!

Hey Keli, Congrats on the scan. I'm so happy for you that everything is AOK. That is great news. I hope you and porsche are right and we are all UTD by chrissy. I was kinda hoping that I would have got UTD early in the year so I could have a bubby this year (2010), but thats just cause of my weirdness. I have a thing with numbers and I am an even numbers girl so 2010 is an even number but 2011 isnt. I know I know, ridiculous. DH is always picking on me because of it. The tv sound and radio sound has to be on an even number, it drives me nuts if its not, lol. I don't have a COD (that I know of), it's just like I said, I'm a numbers girl. In the end, I really dont care what year I have a bubby, I just want a bubby and sooner is better than later.

Rhi: Bummer that your lap was all good, IYKWIM. I bet you are eager for the 12th of July to get here. At least now you know what stage you are up to in your TTC journey. Not that it makes things any easier. Best of luck with it all. If you decide to go and do the reiki, can you please let us know what you think of it.

Hope!! Thats so funny your a numbers girl!! I am aswell! But its a mild case of OCD for me!
Except mine is weird, i like the nubmers 3, 5, 7, 10 & 13 ... but i don't like 11 lol i only like 9 cos its when my birthday is! hehehehe! Oh and DH and I got married on the 13/03/2010 LOL it was the perfect number for me!!

I also can't stand it when someone has one foot up and one foot down when sitting on the couch, or if they are standing and have one foot on the mat and the other on tiles! My hubby finds great enjoyment in walking around in one sock cos i have a hissy fit ... hmmm that soudns really weird when i write that down!! Better stop there :P

Keli i hope you are porsche are right about being pregnant by the end of the year! (Thats my aim)!!

Ok, I like to count things. For example, if we are driving along and I am in the passenger seat I always find myself counting how many cars I think would fit in between the guide posts. Don't ask me why I do that, I just do

A couple of other things that don't have to do with numbers is I really like to hang each item of clothing on the line with the same coloured peg. Because of this, my SIL went and bought me a couple of packets of pink pegs to make it much easier, lol. I also like to put our plates back in the cupboard with the pattern on them all facing the same way. Yes, I know, you all think I am a complete nutter now

No im a peg girl as well! We have red and blue pegs lol and hubby runs out and switches them to be a little bugger! lol!
I have this thing about being touched, for instance, if you were to poke me on my left cheek, i would (very inconspicuously) (sp?) poke my right cheek ... the feeling has to be even, lol so when for say, i stub my toe, you will find me holding both feet instead of one lol!!
I also am a straigh fanatic ... i bought paternless plates for that reason LMAO! Annnnnd my desk at work, is a laugh, lol my wall has paper pinned up on it, all with the same coloured pins and in an orderly fashion lol and there are either 2 or 4 pins in every page, never less, never 3 lol even though i like the number three!!!! OMG! I am feeling so weird right now!

Why is it that DH always wants to do things the opposite way that we like it just to get a reaction from us. It must be in the male species make up to go out of their way to bug their wives.

Before starting my own photography business I used to work in a bank. Fitting really as I am a numbers girl. It did get a little stressful at times though when customers would bring in their deposits and have all their notes facing in different directions. I think that the bank started my plate obsession cause you have to place all your notes in the draw with the window on them facing the same way. It's funny how things stick with you.

WEll, I am glad that I am not the only "different" person here. Thankyou so much for that.

Hi girls, thought I'd pop in and see how you are all doing. Keli, I'm so pleased to hear about bub! GL for the rest of your pg - it is a miracle and that girl at your work is a twit to think otherwise!

Now that we've broken the news to the world (I'm 16 weeks now) we also often mention about how long it took and how close we were to trying IVF. I think the more people who hear about the fact not all couples fall pg easily is a good thing. It's nothing to be ashamed of. All I can say is thank god for laparoscopies and clomid!

Thought you ladies might be interested in two books I have on ebay at the moment. They really helped me through my LTTTC journey and I would love them to go to ladies who have been on a similar journey to me. Check out 'Trying to Conceive' and 'Invitro Fertility Goddess'

Hi & welcome Mako. GL with starting Clomid & we will all be here for you - we all know the medication can cause hideous side effects. Hopefully your stay will be short.

Bec - I hope AF shows & is not as bad as last time - FX. My sister is a PS teacher (grade 5/6) and has two more reports to finish but then has to plan for the last fortnight of term but reapply for her job at the sae time as it was a six month trial.contract. Poor love is buggered but the tropper she is, is back at it tomorrow :S

Mez - So glad that you have popped in & 16 weeks - awesome hun! I'll look into those books. I have Taking Charge of Your Fertility which is good but I don't want to go back to temping so I am looking for other ways to enhance fertility & keep a track of it - IYKWIM?

A quick question - for those of you that had laps, how long did it take for AF to show? I am on CD 30 & feel like she is on her way but want to know if I should expect a longer cycle / wacky cycle?

I am relatively new to the world of TTC while taking medication (and very new to BB).
I was wondering if any of the lovely ladies on here may be able to tell me some of the side effects of Clomid.
I started taking Metformin in February 10 after AF only visiting 3 times since ceasing the Pill in March 09. This regulated AF but after BT in June my FS wants me to start on Clomid as I am not ovulating. I am due to start the Clomid on cd2 (if AF ever shows up again) and was hoping to be prepared for any side effects I may get.
If anyone can help me with this I would be very appreciative as this is all very daunting ATM. Everyone on here is so positive and it has really helped to know that I am not alone in struggling to TTC (which is how I was starting to feel in my group of friends and family who don't seem to have any problems).

ShanShan welcome to the thread. My experience with clomid I have only had the hot flushes and mood swings. I'm on my 3rd cycle, my first was the worst, but like Bec siad it must be just our bodies getting used to the hormones. GL with your journey here.

Bec - hopefully it is a good sign bout being randy, the whole TTC journey can be so draining and it's hard to be spontaneous with DTD (we don't even have kids to interupt us). It's always in the back of your mind "have I fallen PG", "are we doing it at the right time".

Porsche - wow all the things that you have to go through with IVF. GL with the whole journey and I'm looking forward to seeing your BFP post on here soon.

AFM - I know what you mean about being scared of falling PG, I don't know how I could handle a m/c and some of you have had quite a few. You ladies are so strong and positive. The thing I am worried about is how we are going to look after them and with cost of everything going up, don't get me wrong DH and I want to have a baby and are ready for one, I just don't want to let them down (if that makes sense). Anyway to post about how I am going with my cycle. I'm on CD4, so day 3 of clomid and OMG the cramps I am experiencing this cycle are nuts, it has been like someone is trying to twist and pull my insides out and there is only so much nurofen a person can have . On the brighter side I have only had a few hot flushes on the clomid during the night, so FX'd that they stay that way i only have 2 more days.

Just a little question, I am trying the OPK tests this cycle and was wondering what the best time of day is to do them, I have brought 2 packets, so have enough to last me 14 days which I though would be plenty. Oh and also when should I start doing them. If anyone could help that would be great.

when do you usually ovulate Liz? If you know round about when, I usually go for 3 or 4 days prior to that untill surge day. If you're not really sure, they say go from CD10 untill you ovulate. It's pretty unusually to ovulate much earlier than that on clomid, since you can o from 3 days from the last tablet (I think, is that right girls?). That being said I've never ovulated earlier than day 21, so it can be anywhere in that range!

:yeahthat: I can O anywhere from CD15 - CD24. If you go to a site called Babymed they have a clomid calculator and you enter the day you start taking clomid and it gives you the dates to start testing for your LH surge, when you are likley to O and when to best make love. I used that site all the time. I usually test at around 5:50 - 6:00pm. They say the best time is 2:00pm but that could be difficult at work.

I'm 24 have been married for over 2 yrs and we have been trying to coneive for 3. I have endometriosis and PCOS. I had surgery top remove cysts and endo in feb (endo has already grown back) and am now on clomid (150mg for 5 days). I have been on clomid for 2 months now previously ovulation before clomid was 9 after month 1 was 69 and now is 179. my cycle this month was 38 days in the booklet it says it shouldnt be more then 35 i O on day 18 but previously it was day 16 and my cycle was only 30 days before... Anyone got any advice is this normal should I be worried? What should i do!!

It is completely normal to have long cycles. Nothing is set in stone. I have been ovulating on CD23. Don't take the booklet as gospel as there are many vairables.

Hi ShanShan, no ms is not easing up yet, I’m still spewing 1-2 times a day and I think I am now stuck with that for the remainder of this pregnancy. I’m not complaining though, it is all totally worth it. GL for O coming up, nice work on being prepared, preseed is fabulous, try not to use too much though, too much and you can loose sensation (IYKWIM), he he sorry TMI. GL with the OPK’s let us know how you go with them.

Lisi_lou85, welcome to this wonderful forum. Hopefully your stay is very short and you get that long awaited BFP very soon. Wow you have been TTC for a long time, your story sounds quite similar to mine too. 38 day cycles are totally fine, especially if you have PCOS. Everyone is different, Oing at different times & AF arriving at different times. Ask away if you have any questions though, the ladies on this forum are a world full of knowledge and no question is ever silly. GL hun.
