YAY! Porsche! I am doing this for you > :leap:
Porsche - Awesome news!!! I hope you have two perfect ones to put back, GL for the ET
:crossfingers:
Miss Kris - those dreams are crazy girl! That was the weirdest thing about clomid I think... I hope they settle down soon!!
Shan - Business is going great guns, signed the lease yesterday... so so so so excited, but am really nervous with how things will go next year, everything else is good with me, am sick all day long and very tired (but secretly happy that I am feeling those things as I would probably be freaking otherwise).
Keli - Glad it's settled down (I am expecting the horror stories and well meaning advice to start as soon as we tell people ;) ). Yep, scan is on Monday, I can't wait - I just want to hear the HB and know that everything is going OK, although I have no reason to think otherwise IYKWIM (still wondering if there is two in there so at least we will get an answer on that then).
Big hello's to everyone else!!!
hahahaha Pumpgirl! Watch out! I hear pregnancy dreams are worse, my friend (the one i went to visit) said she had a dream that papa roach was serenading her bubs in the belly! And a few nights before that dream, she dreamt she had given away her little boy Bayden, to a pack of drunken seagulls!!
Suddenly, my dreams don't seem so weird! :P lmao!
hehehehe - Kris... Too funny. Yeah my dreams have been a little strange, and am sleep walking every night!!! Babbling something about getting tests done, things being hidden from me & something about taking tablets (assuming this is a kickback of taking clomid). DH is sick of putting me back to bed (it's usually 1 hour after going to bed and since I am in bed by 7.30 it is usually around 8.30).
Hi Ladies
Well Tammara you got me all blurry eyed and the I read everyone elses replys and that was it.
Thank you ladies it means so much to me.
I have some more good news. Out of those 15 follies we got 9 that fertilised. So we have (as DH would say) 9 little ME's lol!
I'm stocked to say the least. We will have some to freeze. Great result. ET is def Friday. I'll ring tomorrow for a time as it's EKKA holiday for some up here lol.
Bec - I'm a little tender in the tummy and I had pains all night. But it was nothing I couldn't handle with a heat pack and some painkillers.
I must say though I am a pharmacists dream atm with all the pessaries, injections (yes still jabbing just different jabbing now lol) and pill popping I'm doing. I really should be off with the fairies!
oh really? i used to sleep walk as a kid, and haven't done it in years, but i did a few weeks back, i woke up infront of the fridge with all the lights on in the house...dh asleep in bed none the wiser! lol! Kind of scared me a little bit!
They say dreams are a manifestation of feelings you can't come to terms with/are really feeling but can't put your finger on it?
Are you worried about your scan coming up? Im sure everything will be fine!! :)
wow 9 chances thats fantastic!!!! we only got 7 embrios all up so odds look good :) i dont know about you or anyone else doing or has done ivf but it made me relax a little and not get my hopes set on working straight up cos i had the mindset of we have 7 chances. Good luck with ET it is so easy compared to the pick up. Cant wait for your result :)
As for the dreams, i usually have strange dreams but lately they have been totally mental! but fun all the same lol
 Porshe! That is brilliant news! Some positive and happy news is just what we need on here atm!! :D
Porsche - that's unreal hun!! You must be so relieved, good to have a backup stash (even if it's for the next one). Good luck for Friday!!!!!! I have everything crossed you get a BFP.
Kris - Not sure what my problem is, I think I feel like I should be doing something, but actually maybe it is the scan as I keep talking about tests and stuff. The PG is definitely there as I am pretty sick and really tired, but I guess you just never know and I will be so happy to see the HB next week... FX that everything goes as it should. On a positive we have booked a little holiday to Noosa in October - Can't wait. It's been such a miserable winter in Sydney - rain rain rain.
Once again, huge congrats Porsche xx
continual hot flushes and bad cramps in my lower back ... good sign?? :)
Could be!! Everyone is different, I didn't have any symptoms whatsoever - in fact you probably remember I kept saying this month is over this month is over... When is your CD21 Prog test?
Tomorrow, and i was very much like that last night, kept telling DH the drugs didn't work cos it doesn't feel like it did 1st round, however i think the general consesus is the 2nd round is very different to the 1st round! :)
Plus this time last round i didn't have this lower back pain! Definetly obsessing when i promised myself i wouldn't!!
Time to log out of fertility friend! Lmao!
Try not to stress or obsess, you have been so good this month... It will be, even if your not thinking about it so no point in worrying and stressing... I agree, second cycle is so different from the first, that's why I thought it was going to be a BFN as I didn't have as many SE. I know it is easier said than done, but try and relax and put it to the back of your mind (focus on your positive wall and something else if you can).
Good luck tomorrow, I hope you get a good result!!
And yes get your b.utt out of FF ;) xx
*logs out of fertility friend* :D its possibly best for my sanity at the moment! :)
The girls at work are on FF watch, if they see me staring at graphs i get emails telling me to get off!! Lol!
Wow porsche, that is so exciting, 9 little you's that is sooo cool. best of luck for friday and posting your BFP in a few weeks. IKWYM about the public hol, I had went to ring my FS on my lunchbreak and they had closed at 12pm.
Pumpgirl how exciting you are going to here the HB next week. You are going to love it up in Noosa, it is a nice place, I must say QLD is a great place hehehe (I might be a little bias though).
Tammara, I was hoping that when I do get my BFP that the wierd dreams would stop or at least calm down a little.
Miss Kris, I think it is so true about the dreams, mine tend to get far to crazy when I am stressing over stuff. FX'd that they are good signs for you (having the cramps, etc) and you catch that little egg.
AFM, I have been coming in daily to read everyone's posts, but haven't posted anything myself as nothing new was happening with me. Except for now. YYYYYAAAAAYYYYYY AF finally started today, and I must say I have never been so happy to have her arrive, the girls at work thought I was a little crazy but understand why I was soo happy. So tomorrow is when I will be starting this cycle's meds and ringing my FS to book it my appointment to start the injections next week. So this time next week will be getting DH to jab me, which I am sure he is going to get joy out of, lol. As I was anoying him last night quite badly and he turned to me and said "you do realise next week I will be jabbing you with a needle", to which I then decided that I should stop anoying him hehehe. Anyway, that is all for me today, can't wait to see some more BFP's on here, babydust to everyone. Oh and Bec for your chart I am CD1. YYYIIIPPPEEEEE :hooray: :hooray:
Hi All,
My name is Mel, and I am about to start my first round of Clomid. I have PCOS and I have been on Metformin for years, but as I don't ovulate very often or at all, our past efforts in TTC naturally have been futile.
Feeling excited, nevous and everything inbetween! Would really appreciate any tips/hints/advice that anyone has for the coming weeks and months.
Hi WBM!!
Welcome to our thread!! :)
Tip #1 - Take clomid at night, then you sleep through most of the SE!
Be prepared for the rollercoaster of emotions, but remember to keep your eye on the prize ... a bubba at the end of it all!! :)
It will keep you going through those hot flushes and mood swings! :P
But its really not all that bad at all! Some of these ladies have had no side effects at all!!! (Lucky cows! Lol)
Im only joking! I hope your stay here and short and sweet and you get your BFP soon!!
POrsche- 9 is awesome!!! That's so great. I'm glad you're not feeling too bad, and am looking forward to seeing a BFP soon!
Liz- so glad Af finally arrived! I'll change the chart.
Mel- Welcome and heres' to a short and sweet journey for you. Hopefully the first round is your BFP round. I second everything Miss Kris said. Also, I would suggest making sure your FS is following up with at least Progesterone test at CD21 or follie scans to check your progress. Ovulation Predictor kits DO work on clomid (usually!) and they are helpful too. FX for you!
Pumpgirl- looks like your business is really getting going. What an exciting 2010/2011 you will have! GL with your scan, I'm sure it will be amazing!
Kris- I hope that your cramping is a good sign! GL with you BT, hope all is looking good!
Hi everyone else! How are you all?
AFM: Nothing new to report really. I'm CD 21, and no sign of o yet, so it looks like another LONG cycle for me this round. Oh well! It's my b'day on Monday and maybe DH will get lucky this year! ;) Just a quick question for you IVF girls; if I see the FS at say 5DPO, and I'm not UTD this round, is that enough time to begin an IVF cycle on the next round, or would I likely have to wait for the following round? Stupid question maybe, but I'm a very impatient person, and I've already waited over 2 years!!
I'll update the chart too,
Have a good night!

:bfp:Graduates of this thread this year: MezMoz, Tammara, Keli, Ahurani, Pumpgirl & Hope!
Damn, just wrote a long post then pressed reply to thread and lost it all.... D'oh!
Anyhoo, sounds like everyone is busy and getting some good results. Congrats to those of you with good news to report. :)
As for me, I had my scan today. I think it went ok.... Endo 9mm, no follicles on my left ovary, two on my right ovary - 16mm and 12mm. My FS seemed pretty happy. I am not having a trigger injection, etc this month because she wants "to see" what happens without it. Hopefully this is a good sign.
What do you guys think? Is two follicles okay/normal/good/bad?????
I really value the advice of you guys who have been going through this for a while. I feel like a babe in the woods (much prefer it if I was just a babe! ; ) lol ). Maybe in my next life....
Take care all....And keep smiling :)
n2l
Bec can you please put me back on the list. I am cd40 today (Wednesday). Will post more tomorrow as I am on my phone at the moment.
Thanks everyone for your welcomes. I have a couple of questions...
I am seeing a OB/Gyno at this stage (Dr Bevan Brown) for the first 3 to 4 cycles and if we have no luck, then he is refering me to a fertility specialist. I asked about ultra sounds etc while on Clomid, and he said that unless I felt a lot of pain at ovulation he wasn't concerned about hyperstimulation and that I wouldn't need any scans. So unless something good happens soon, then I guess they will kick things up a notch and start doing scans etc with the FS? Has anyone else been on Clomid without having follicle scans?
I know there is no normal, but what are the results like for Clomid? Brown gave me the feeling he expected this to work, but then there would be no point in him being pesimistic would there! I just want to be realistic in my expectations.
Sorry shan! Not sure what happened there! How are you travelling?
Hi Mel, and welcome to this wonderful thread. As for your follicle scan, that sounds great to me. My advice is to just keep an eye on your temp now, or try out the OPK tests that Bec suggested (I found them very helpful) and hopefully you will be O’ing before the weekend’s out. GL and KUP.
Hi Ladies
Bec - It wouldn't be to late to start a cycle. Your FS will most likely make you take BCP for a little while to stabelize your hormones so you can start a fresh cycle in preparation for stims.
This will all depend on your FS though and what he/she will likely do.
Wannababymumma, I was on Clomid for 9 cycles in total and never had a follicle scan. So long as you have a BT to confirm that you did in fact O then that should be fine, HTH!
Bec, I know we didn’t officially start the IVF process but the ball was rolling for us. My FS told me that when I was ready to start, to make sure I came in before AF was due and she could get me in for that cycle, so I think you’ll be fine at this stage. Even if you book in, then if you fall pg (FX) you can just cancel your app. GL hun!
Hello
Welcome Mel, hopefully this is a quick journey for you. Scans haven't been mentioned by my Dr yet, only BT, but I have only had one round of clomid so I guess I will find out more next Thursday.
Bec - Everything is starting to get back to normal now. Got a few weekends in Brisbane for courses and Hen's parties in the next few weeks followed by weddings and Birthday parties in September/ October so that should keep me out of trouble.
Porsche - Congrats on all the follies, GL with the transfer and I look forward to seeing you post a BFP soon.
Pumpgirl - How exciting about your scan next week. Noosa in October should be lovely. I know what you mean about the rain, we wish it would bugger off cause we can't make any money until the paddocks dry out and we can bale the crops. I know typical farmers, never happy, lol.
Kris - Yuck to hot flushes but hopefully they are indicating something. That was the clomid side effect I really hated, although I wouldn't mind them today as it is absolutely freezing here. Oh and stay away from FF it will just mess with your head, lol.
Liz - Yay for AF arriving, can you send her my way. I don't know whether my DH would be willing to jab me, I guess it depends how much of a b**** I am being at the time, jk. Mum would probably enjoy inflicting pain on me though.
N2L - I know how you feel about the long post disappearing, happens to me on a regular basis.
Hello to everyone else.
AFM - Well AF is still not here, starting to get a bit p**sed off about it, lol. Was watching TV the other night and there was a lady on there and she said that we spend years trying not to get pregnant and when we want to we can't. DH thought this was hilarious as it is exactly what we have been saying lately.
Well better go have some lunch, Appetite has increased lately, not going to be good for the waistline, ha ha.
Shan
Hey all,
Sorry for being MIA, I have minimal time today as DH & I are going into the City tonight to celebrate our 10 yr wedding anniversary. We went to the counsellor at Monash today & are off to talk to the nurses about the injections etc.... So in the meantime we are DTDing our butts off in the hope of another 'natural' pg. Sorry for lack of persies, going to frop DD off at my mums. Be back on the weekend. :)
Hi Bec
In answer to your IVF/cycle question, there is another variable you may have to consider....A wait for an appointment/s. You have to do a whole day's appointments of counselling, nurse, FS, financial counsellor, FS etc and she said it can be a few weeks. You also have to do a police check. Not sure, but they may not start until that comes back (my experience having done one for work is it can take up to 21 days - depending on how busy Vic Police are. The FS (same as yours if I remember rightly!) gave me an info pack on my first visit which is very comprehensive. I know what you mean about no patience. I am the least patient person I know. I want to come back as Veruca Salt -- I want it NOW!!! -- from Willy Wonka. That girl has style :D
Mel, welcome to this thread, hope your stay is short and you fall pg soon. I myself didn't have any scans or blood tests, although was on clomid for only 3 rounds, which looking at how many cycles everyone else has done isn't very many. GL with it all, and hopefully you don't experience to many SE on the clomid.
Rhi wow, congrats on 10 yrs, hope you and DH have a lovely night out and you fall pg naturally again. FX'd for you hun.
Shan, I sending her yourway via airmail lol. DH has to do the jabs for me, there is no-one else to do them, and I won't be able to handle doing them myself, I HATE NEEDLES... silly I know, but I do.
Porsche, best of luck for the ET tomorrow, can't wait to see how you go. I have everything crossed, GL hun.
Bec, hope you catch that little egg and you won't need to worry about IVF. And no your question isn't stupid, it is good to know what to expect.
Hi to anyone else I have missed, sorry.
AFM, OMG I am starting to regret wanting AF to start, the cramps that I am having are ridiculas and am getting a little over it. Funny hay I wanted AF to start so badly and now it is here want it to go away. I know a bit of a sook, just having a little rant about my AF pain. Other than that I have been good, no SE so far, but it is only day 1 of clomid, lol.
Babydust to everyone hoping for some more BFP's on here soon.
Hi wannababy
Welcome to the thread. I have only been on here a couple of weeks myself but everyone has been very helpful and welcoming. I am sure you will find the same! I have just finished my first round of clomid (took my last tablet 6 days ago). I am on 100mg. I agree with the advice about taking the tabs at night...the worst symptom I had was nausea. I didnt vomit or anything but I definitely felt a little seedy. I didnt get any hot flushes at all. Nor any bad/weird dreams. When I finished the tabs, I had a rotten headache for a couple of days. Not sure if that was coincidental or a symptom! I have had a lot of discomfort/pain in the ovary area and lower back over the past couple of days. I had a scan yesterday which showed two follicles on my right ovary and none on my left. Ironically it is the left ovary that is the most painful so not sure what is going on there!
You asked about success rates. The ovulation induction booklet I have says --- "Clomiphene citrate is successful in inducing ovulation in about 80 % of women and about half will conceive within six cycles". Hope this helps!
Take Care
n2l
I know what you mean about AF pain. I have adenomyosis and spend at least three AF days curled up in a ball dosed to the eyeballs with mersyndol and panadeine forte. Almost makes me happy that my cycles are so irregular!!!
Take care :)
n2l
Good luck for today porsche :)
Bec - i think i must have missed a post about ivf? with the counceling we had three seperate appointments one with me and hubby, one with our egg donor and her hubby alone and one with all of us. they did tell me they like to have them a week apart but we got it done pretty fast all in about 10 days i think. But if you arent using egg donor you may only need the one session. It took about 2 weeks for me to get my police back and they needed it back before we could start the procedure
Porsche, just wanted to quickly pop in and wish you GL for today. Hope everything goes perfectly.
N2L, can I ask what exactly is adenomyosis? Is this like the sister on endometriosis? My cousin has it?
Welcome wannababy, best of luck on your clomid journey and I hope your stay here is short... I found my main symptoms were: Hot flushes (only at night), crazy dreams, emotional / irritable, dry CM (sorry if that is TMI). I totally mirror everyone else to take at night... Just helps with the SE. The second month I took it I didn't have as many symptoms (and was lucky to fall PG). Good Luck hun.
Porsche - good luck for the ET, I hope it all goes as it should!! :stickyvibesgirl: :stickyvibesboy:
Hello to everyone else, I hope you all have a great weekend!!!
Ladies
Firstly OOhh I have an avvy now. I love it!
Well we have some good news an some bad news.
Good news first. We are PUPO!!!!! We transfered 2x 3day embies. 1 was fantastic and 1 not so fantastic.
Bad news is we lost 1 out of the 9 embryos leaving 8. So transfered 2 leaving 6. But those 6 are fragmented so they will try and get them to blasto and see how many we can freeze if any.
This may all seem alittle over your head so to speak. I'll explain it a bit later when I have more time.
Oh well never mind.
(PUPO = Pregnant until proven otherwise)
Yey yey yey Porsche that is Soooooooo exciting!
Sorry to hear about you loosing one of the embryos. Hopefully one of the two you have inside will do the trick. Sending you MASSIVE Sticky Vibes
sounds good porsche even if you lost one, lets hope these ones are both goodies and you dont need to use the others in store. Its a strange feeling knowing that technically you are pregers :) cant wait for 10 days when you get a definate
