OK now for the not so happy post:

My SIL wants to call me tonight...oh ****, I know what they are ringing for. How can anyone get pg on IVF on their first (aged 44) AND second (aged 45) go? I don't think that even counts as IVF frankly.


I don't want to talk to them. I don't want to know

I really, honestly, can't deal with it. I just can't. Can someone please give me some strategies to deal with the call so I can be a loving sister and not the ogre I feel like right now

Alice I am so sorry your having a hard time dealing with you SIL and I guess you may be right about the news the best advice I can offer is to write down on a piece of paper exactly how you feel all the swear words the works and read it out loud a few times and get it out you system, then when the phone rings you can say the nice things you know you should say !!! I know its really hard as I myself had to listen to my son tell me his new wife was UTD after trying for 2 months and I had mc 6 mnths earlier. But I was glad for them and had to tell myself they will be happy for me when I eventually get pg again in the future!! So Alice be strong take a deep breath and be calm and look on the bright side she is older than you and you have just as much chance of getting it right 1st time when you go for your IVF next month !!! after all your hard work and your chinese meds your turn will come !

Thanks Iona I am not even going to bother testing if they want to test tomorow then they can but I am only 9-10 DPO so not really in with a chance anyway even though my boobs feel sore today and I keep feeling nauseas think its just nerves I have been reading up all afternoon on fertility of women age 45 and its not good think I am wasting my money tomorow stupid old fool that I am !

Oh Crafty your not a silly old fool. If you are then we all are.

You'll never guess what I just got ........... I just got a + OPK! It's CD26 for god sake! So that means I'm going to O on CD28. God what a loooooooong cycle this is. I'm going to O when most get their AF!!! I was only peeing on a stick because I have about 30 of the buggers. I hopped in the shower with DH and when we got out I got the shock of my life. And no ladies there was no hanky panky in the shower lol. We'll do that tonight

Thanks all for the warm welcome to this thread! Yeh was getting very disheartened being in there for so long and so many popping in briefly, getting a bfp and leaving... was hard! Feels much more comfy in here cause you all understand thats its not just the loss thats hard, but the wait to get a bfp again is just as torturous!

Crafty, thanks for your advice - I remember you going through that with your son. I ended up emailing her back that I would be out for the night and would ring in a few days when I can get my head around it. Like Porsche said, you are so not an old silly fool so don't go in there with that going through your head. And just because I'm feeling upset about my SIL doesn't mean I don't hope you get UTD first time with IVF at 45!

Well AF has decided to grace me with her presence so I'm going to go to bed.
