Feeling good today. I went to the counsellor who told me I was prefectly normal, perhaps I should get that in writing or something so that I can prove it LOL he agreed with you ladies that bottling it in isn't very good and that the thread is wonderful for place for us to let it all out. I must confess I felt I was dumping on you guys too much, always having some sort of whinge when I came on, but I guess this is the nature of the beast really, and gosh if I can do it in here I will go insane!!
Leis glad to hear that things went well with the colonoscopy, I had one of those a while back, eww everytime I think of bowel prep I shudder after having had 3 or 4 of them. We live in a flat and our old flat used to have the kitchen overlooking a communal driveway, I still vividly remember taking or trying to take the bowel prep and standing at the sink dry retching as one of my neighbours walked past and looked in (we were on the groung floor) LOL, he got more than he's monies worth that day
Danni - any news ? hope the big day went well for you
Hello there, I asked to be added to this thread a while ago but haven't had a chance to join in as I've been down in the City (Perth) had a visit with my Gyno on 27/3... was supposed to have a check up after 3 months on clomid got there after 4mths... better late than never! I live on a station in WA's NW so it takes some organising to get away.
My gyno is great, he was happy with my charts and thought everything was looking good on the ov side of things... so that was good, but we decided that he should have a bit better look at what was going on inside... so I had a Laperoscopy, Hysteroscopy and a D&C so that he could check it all out, also had a Lletz Cone Biopsy to remove a few cells from my cervix that were a little troublesome in the bleeding dept only.... this was on the 5/4 so I ended up doubling my stay in Perth, the retail therapy was great and got to catch up with family & friends but I was really ready to come home after the first 2 weeks! Never mind it was all for a good cause. Anyway back on the subject.... He discovered that I have what is called a right rudimentary horn... basically the uterus did not develope properly... 7/8ths is normal and the ovaries are both working fine however the right fallopian tube doesn't communicate with the main uterus.. it connects to this rudimentary horn... the left tube is fine... just wondering if anyone has heard of this before?
Dr didn't seem to think that this was the reason for my delayed conception as my cycles are good and ov is happening but I guess that given that you usually ov from alternate ovary each month is would cut my chances of conception by half! He said that the 7/8 ute would support a preg no worries.. so hoping that the clomid will do the trick soon.
I feel a more empowered knowing what is going on in there ... I guess now the trick will be to time our dbing on the cycles that the left ov is in action. I am sure one day soon I will get that BFP.... trying to keep a positive outlook and perspective.
Hope things are going along okay for everyone here! Look forward to sharing on our baby trail journey...
Kate
PS sorry didn't mean to type a novel
Hi Kbaby *waves* - hope you ttc journey isn't for too much longer and you have a BFP really soon.
Jane - Nice to see you back around lovely and feeling better.
Well is seems the BFP express has run out of coal, I'll get some more and we'll get it up and chugging along again.
I have spent this week adjusting my mind set and I feel better. I am not going to focus on this ttc journey quite as much because I feel as though as each month is going on I am slowly losing myself. I used to be such a happy carefree positive girl. I have turned into a moody, depressed, negative, sad girl. That is not me and I don't like her!! In 12 months time I am going to Europe, I am going to see places I have always wanted to see & visit people who are very dear to me I haven't seen in a very long time. We are also going to take foster children into our home as soon as we get back. It is something I have always wanted to do and DH in the last week has said he is ready to start the qualifying process, so we have. So while our inner pain of not being able to have a child of our own goes on, we are so happy and excited that in a little over 12 months time we are going to provide a home for a little one who needs one.
Welcome back again Kate...hope you get your BFP really soon. At least now you know what's going on!!!
Jane - don't ever feel like you are dumping on us....that's what we are all hear for. To listen to each other and offer our support and advice xxx
lil_chookie - I think we have reached the same mindset.....i too used to be a happy positive person...she's now gone and the moody depressed one is here. Lets pull ourselves up together...
Hi to everyone else...hope you are all doing well.
Back again... have just looked through the previous thread to catch up on happenings here....
Jane - bb is such a wonderful place to come to find the support from other girls who know first hand what you are going through
Shan & Lil Chookie you both sound like you need a big hug... I think it is important to think about the options... having a plan B so to speak... there is a section in the bb forum on adoption that also covers the fostering experience, something we are thinking may end up the option for us well worth a read. I'm working on plan C also which also involves a trip to Europe... have started teaching my self Italian so I am ready for what ever life has in store for me... its good also to focus on other things occasionally, expecially if you need to get your mind off the whole TTC thing... so far it has been working for me.
Well I'll get a ticket on the BFP Express for May... just in time for mothers day ladies ... all aboard! Its that or a ticket to Europe... maybe I could meet you there Lil Chookie?
Ciao for now... Kate
how is everyone going? I haven't been on, I have been studying all weekend :smt024 (Yuck) and trying to keep my procrastinating at a minimum, and I have actually suceeded for a change, it's amazing how an assignment being due in a few days inspires me. I think my fertile patch for this month is over, I must confess I am not monitoring as such, which I really should. I am only going by CM which was in abundance at the start of the week and dropped off in the last few days. So now I am well into my TWW, CD 17 so only 11 days to go.
How about everyone else? Hopefully everyone is hanging in there and looking after themselves.
Hi everyone :smt039 Quick one for me ... I've been MIA because I've spent the last two days in hospital .. my Dad had a very bad accident yesterday, and is now in the Intensive Care Unit at Royal Bris Hospital. He fell off a ladder and sustained multiple facial fractures, two broken wrists, and broken ribs. He's on life support, but regained consiousness this morning, which I'm just so thankful for, as they weren't sure if he was going to live yesterday morning!!! Still has all the breathing tubes down his throat etc, but they're hoping to take them out tomorrow sometime.
I know I know .. I was aiming to have a stress-free first IVF cycle, but it seems like it's not to be. I'll probably be checking in briefly each night, to wind down before bed, but won't be around very much.
On the TTC front, I'm 7 days past finishing the provera, and STILL waiting for AF to show up. I'm going to have to ring the clinic on Tuesday if she doesn't show .. I didn't think it was supposed to take this long, and last time I took the provera, AF came two days later. I'm feeling kinda frustrated at the hold-up.
Oh heavens Cherie, your poor dad. What a terrible thing to happen to him. I really hope that he has a full and speedy recovery and that you and your family look after yourselves during this stressful time.
Cherie, hope your dad gets better quickly, I find a lot of stresses seem to find me when I'm cycling. Though sometimes they are a welcome distraction, I wish it was a different one for yourself now.
Take care.
Cherie, that's terrible about your Dad's accident, glad things are looking on the brighter side and hope he recovers quickly.
Jane, All the best for positive distractions while you are on the TWW
Hello to everyone else...
today I tested with an OPK, yesterdays was neg despite ew cm... today got a big positive... so I guess tonight will be off to bed early \/ I am guessing that a day early from my 4 weeks post surgery with no BDing wont hurt...
Hi all, I'm never sure if I should post here or not - I lurk and read all your posts but as I'm not currently on any fertility treatment - just metformin - think I'm a bit of an intruder! Does that make sense? We've been trying for nearly two years so I guess I fit into the long term section if no where else! I get confused as well as we lost a baby in March and so sometimes I post in the TTC after m/c section - its just so confusing!!! 8-[
The metformin seems to be doing its job in controlling my PCOS symptoms, my skin is looking great for a change and I think I ovulated last cycle, so thats good. Hopefully this cycle I'll ovulate again and we'll catch it!
Cherie - so sorry to hear of your dad - what a very scary time for you. I too find that all the stresses in life come together. I hope he gets better soon.
Cherie - so sorry to hear about your dad, I hope he is recovering well
Kbaby - I am starting to get excited about Europe, we are going to one of our best friends weddings. So if there is a baby it is going with us and the trip will be shorter, if there is no baby the trip will be abit longer and have lot's more in it!!
Percy - you are most welcome here. Currently I am not on any fertility treatments but I have been at this for a long time. I feel most comfortable here surrounded by lovely ladies who understand the ups and downs. Hope you get a BFP soon.
Shan - how are you lovely??
Danni - Where are you babe? we miss you in the thread.
Well for the month it's about to start all over again (the bd-a-thon as I like to call it!! LOL), but my headspace is really good (at the minute) for a couple of months there I was really losing myself and I am determined not to let that happen again. I picked myself up off old rock bottom and I am reaching for the stars again. We recieved our first information pack about fostering yesterday, we are so excited!! We will have our first interview in a couple of weeks, DH has a lot of questions that he is looking forward to being answered.
Off to my graduation tonight, I will have my certificate to say I am a qualified Youth Worker tonight. Other than highschool years ago, I have never graduated anything. Very exciting for me!!
